Reader Suggestions

I’m the one who usually does most of the work here, so while I’m away, I’m going to invite readers to pick up the slack. Just submit links to any blog post or news item you find that you think others may be interested in, in the comments of this post. A simple cut and paste URL and brief description should do it.

  1. “If you believe that Paul Martin is committed to “eliminating the democratic deficit” in Canadian politics, chances are youre also looking to buy some development lands in Siberia.”
    . . .
“Its conceivable that someday in the very near future Martin and his Liberals will insist that elections are unnecessary in a properly functioning democracy, so long as those in office have their heart in the right place.”

  2. Once again, Victor Davis Hanson has written an important essay. People like Joe Green should read it, but, being what Eric Hoffer describes as “True Believers” they wont’t. Everyone else can, at victorhanson.com/hanson031805.html.

The URL turns up “The Page Cannot Be Found” error.
I take it you really were not serious Jeff.

  4. Victor Hanson wrote:
“One of their most hackneyed charges, begun almost at the beginning of this war, has been the Bush/America as Hitler/Nazi Germany comparison.”
He actually has nothing to complain about. Bush going into Iraq on false pretenses and Hitler going into Czechslovakia on false pretenses, are mirror images separated only in time.
What has changed is not the world, its the nature of America that has changed. And its dangerous.
For an American President, to blatantly lie and frighten not only Americans, but many other people who are citizens of countries allied to the US, is something new and unprecedented.
People used to make fun of Hitler as the runt with only one ball and a mustache. Just like they make fun of the cowboy from Texas giving ultimatums in the United Nations.
But neither are funny, they are frightening images that have come into focus.
The American position in the world has been so damaged, that even if John Kerry were to win the election in 2008, given the past events, most people would be looking at George Soros, his connections with Carlyle, and wondering about Osama Bin Laudin’s family in Saudi Arabia, not withstanding what Kerry may or may not say in “good faith”.
Nothing coming out of Washington these days is credible. Well almost nothing. Senator Byrd waving his little book and copy of the Constitution still is important enough to listen to. But for the most part, the Nazi in the Republican Party do not even hear what the old man is saying.

  5. Joe Green, the Lubyanka Leftist, should get a grip and consider the following quote. Eric Hoffer wrote: “Passionate hatred can give meaning and purpose to an empty life. Thus people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance.”
Joe’s fear and hatred of the “neocons” that he describes as insidiously controling the Bush administration is a hallmark of the True Believer, and, most probably in his case, is simply another guise for anti-Semitism. He doesn’t have the courage to truly look at himself to discover the real Nazi.
So Joe, throw some Chomsky at me and make me laugh the sardonic laughter of one who pees on the smugly self-righteous.

  6. Besides Victor Davis Hanson, Eric Hoffer, and, apparently, many other writers found in bookstores intended for more than just the Gleaming Eyed Left, Joe Green could stand to harken to the estimable Melanie Phillips. She’s a Brit, Joe, not an American. Start at http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/archives/000596.html. In time Joe, you might be able to come up with an original thought, instead of the hidebound cliches you rattle off ad nauseum. Canada needs more than just another cheesy Martinista.

  7. Re: Joe, aka Jaw.
Have posted elsewhere, and agree with “Jeff in Pullman, WA, that Jaw is an anti-semite.
Furthermore, he appears to be a member of the sect of Jehovah’ Witnesses; Bible spouting, hate-spewing, troll from Witnesses’s sub-basement headquarters. There is his hole over there, the left one beside the rathole. Jaw has his own hole as did Maddas Hussein.
Jaw is consuming himself with his own bile.

Great. Another American that has not been housebroken and is peeing in the public streets.
Jeff, why not defecate on the road and claim that its art?

Well, Canadians love cheeze and we love Paul Martin. His popularity is increasing, not decreasing, particularly in Quebec.
On the other hand, actual Conservative disunity will ensure that they spend “Four More Years” in the political wilderness. They are still a party UNFIT to govern, just as they were when Mulroney and Mila with all her shoes, were still in Ottawa.

Ha!!…..That’s why they don’t want to publicize AdScam outside Quebec, there too damn EMBARRESSED!

If it wasn’t for the bloggers, MSM would create a total cover up. The Quebec people are just as angry.

  11. Mila did not have 3,000 pairs.
Imelda had 3,000 pairs or 1,600 pairs.
Jaw cannot get the facts straight.
