I haven’t tried recently, but I had a lot of problem trying to find the total death rate from all diseases this year as compared to the same period last year.
It stands to reason that if those other 94% of deaths were ascribed to COVID19, then death rates from those other causes must have gone down substantially at the same time. What is the real total death rate?
If you are younger and/or healthy, according to the CDC numbers, there is very little chance of you dying from COVID19.
For all causes, 79% of COVID19 attributed deaths are aged 65 or older. Another 12.6% are between 55 and 64.
Almost all of the people over 65 are retired. If you are over 55, and have multiple health problems, you can self isolate or ask for early retirement. Is it really reasonable to shut society down completely (well, except for Burn Loot Murder) because of less than 9%, under 14000 recorded deaths of those under 55? That would be a very low number for your average flu season.
As Table 1 shows, the peak is way past. The secondary much lower peak due to restarts is also past. The numbers have declined to the level we have always accepted for seasonal flu. Why should there still be a lock down?
P.S. A major reason for the much bigger death rate of those 65 or over is because many of them live in nursing homes, and therefore are much more susceptible to infection, especially, as was the case in NYC, when the nursing homes were forced by the authorities to accept COVID19 patients.
