  3. I want to understand this. Do these papers say that people with the deadly virus, but having no symptoms, do not infect people and are no longer counted? They only list 1 as being asymptomatic, is this why they are no longer counted in China?

    This would push up the lethality percentages. Also, are they only talking about people with symptoms? The Chinese study said they checked 3410, of which 127 had an illness. 12 of these were severe or critical, which they describe as 10%; I think 12/3410 is the critical/severe count and is 0.35%.

        Over 80% of all Sars-Cov-2 deaths in Canada are from Long term Care (“LTC”) and nursing home facilities[ii]. The inhabitants of these facilities are the oldest and weakest among the population. In fact, only wealthy populations have extensive LTC communities which are mainly in Europe and North America. Over 50% of Sars-Cov-2 fatality in the US and Europe are from these facilities[iii][iv].

        I had not previously contemplated the bold statement. But this fact certainly explains a sizable percentage of Western Nation’s CHINA Plague deaths.

  5. So why do we have to wear these dehumanizing masks? In Ontario, your chances of catching the virus are about 1 in 150,000. (Based on MacLeans recent data.) Other provinces were similar. So what are the chances we are likely to run into one of those people in the grocery store? And if we do how likely is it they will be close enough to spread the virus via body fluids? People with sneezing and coughs should wear a mask (or stay home). Forcing healthy and asymptomatic people to wear masks is unnecessary and has a negative subconscious impact. Every time I enter a store I feel like I am venturing into alien territory.

        One reason I post my comments is that I hate what’s happened to a city that’s been my home for many years. Edmonton was where my parents and I lived after my mother and I came over from Europe. I spent a lot of time in the city as a university student.       There is another aspect to the mask business you should know about, especially
      if you are one that chooses to wear a mask of any sort for extended periods. The
      inside (the part against your face) of the mask is a perfect place for bacteria to grow
      and dramatically multiply.

      Your skin is continually shedding dead cells, cells that are coated by the 100’s of different
      species of bacteria that reside on the outer surface of your skin. Some of these bacteria
      can be pathogenic at times – think staph A or worse MRSA. They grow like crazy
      on the skin dead skin cells that accumulate on the warm, moist insides inside of your
      mask, the perfect “green house” where these buggers are lovingly nurtured
      by your hot breath.

      By wearing a mask you are breathing these in, in phenomenal numbers, plus these
      further energized bacteria are then trapped by the mask on the way out as you exhale.
      This is a really bad situation- deadly in fact- and has probably killed many.

      If you use the mask once and toss it, not to worry, you are fine. If you reuse your
      mask, get an empty pint sized sprayer bottle from the hardware store and
      fill it with 91% isopro-alcohol. Liberally spray the mask each night and you will
      be good to go the next day.

      Why do you suppose this has not been discussed by the press? The fix is so simple.

      Why are all the videos posted by competent doctors relating the efficacy of using
      anti-inflammatory medicines to keep the cytokine storm damage in check being
      removed from UTube and other sites?

      Why is it that the NIH (US) has references to scads of medIcal and other peer reviewed
      research journal papers relating the efficacy of using VitC, Vit D, Zinc, Hydroxychor,
      Selenium, and other substances, that have been shown to be effective against viral
      respiratory diseases – Sars CV19, influenza, et al – articles that are available FREE
      to anyone interested enough to track them down through PUBMED.

      I’M NOT MAKING THIS UP KIDS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE HELL OUT OF THIS. I have
      read the documents and tracked down the vids.

      1. I have been voluntarily wearing a mask since late March, as it seemed likt a sensible thing to do, rather to protect others than me. Also, at that time we were told NOT to wear masks.

        Anyway, I wash mine in bleach regularly.

        Has anyone noticed governments are making this up as they go along, pretending to have knowledgable expetrs inform them. They haven’t a clue. Only a madman would suggest even attempting to quarantine the entire population. Quarantine the infected and protect the infirm. The latter also be something governmetns noticeably failed to do; I thought it was pretty obvious the old and sick would be the most vulnerable, they are to Influenza and Pneumonia.

        Anyway, I see no significant difference between those countries that “locked down” and those that did not. The only apparent difference is the use of HCQ at the start of an infection.

        And the testing and stats are woeful; the various spokesman clearly have no idea of the extent or seriousness of the infection. May make wild arsed guesses based on the assumed numerical values of some arbitrary, non real, parameters of their models.

        Don’t get me going. “COVID-19” didn’t destroy economies and peoples’ lives, governments did.

    1- The average mask does nothing to protect you from Covid19.
    2- The high tech N95 versions do perform better, BUT can be dangerous to the wearer in certain situations, especially those with higher respiratory needs.

    Keep in mind that the N95 mask when properly fitted will block particles of about 5 microns in diameter. Virons are much smaller, about 50 nanometers or 0.05 microns in diameter. The N95 masks may effectively block bacteria (8-10 microns) and fungal spores (10-50 microns), but are wide open for individual virus particles.

    So here’s a little thought experiment:

    Q. If a viron is 50 nm (nanometers) in diameter, how many virus particles clumped together in a uniform sphere will pass through a mask capable of filtering out particles of 5 microns or greater in diameter?
    A. 10,000,000 (10 MILLION) virons packed in a uniform sphere will pass through a mask capable of filtering out particles of 5 microns or greater in diameter.

    How did I arrive at that figure?

    Givens:

    1 micron is equivalent to 1 micrometer
    1 micron = 1/1,000,000 of a meter or 1/1,000 of a mm (millimeter)
    1nm (nanometer) = 1/1,000 of a micron
    For perspective 1mm = 1/25 inch

    Diameter of a viron is 50nm (nanometers) or 0.05 microns.
    Assume the mask filters 5 micron particles or bigger.
    Volume of a sphere is 4/3 X pi X r3 (r cubed), this reduces to 9.42 X r3

    Now applying basic high school math to solve the problem.

    Volume of a spherical viron:
    9.42 X (0.025)cubed = 9.42 X 0.0000156 = 0.0000147 microns3

    Volume of a sphere 5 microns in diameter:
    9.42 X (2.5)cubed = 9.42 X 15.6 = 147 microns3

    Number of virons packed into a sphere with a volume of 147 microns3
    147/0.0000147= 10,000,000

    END OF PROBLEM

    Now, would you like to know how many virons pass through a popular cloth mask capable of trapping particles 50 microns or greater?
    I will spare you the math but the answer is : 10,000 million. (10 BILLION)

    But we are not yet done. It gets better still. So far we have assumed that only one of these viral clumps is floating in our path. The reality is that there maybe millions of clumps floating around in the air and you may inhale thousands of these clumps each containing trillions of virons with each breath.

    Are you beginning to see the outright stupidity in this?

        It’s not the mask.
        On the Diamond Princess over 700 people out of 3,711 became infected (567 out of 2,666 passengers and 145 out of 1,045 crew), and 14 people, all of them passengers, died.

  10. The only masks that stop microbes are properly fitted N95 or preferably P100 masks. Their aperture is a few microns, so they stop bacteria (8-10microns) and larger fungal spores.

    Virons on the other hand are about 50nanometers (0.05 micr) or on average about 100 times smaller than what the best N95 masks are capable of blocking.

    However, because viral particles clump due to electrostatics and are also attracted to much larger though microscopic dust particles and condensation nuclei present in the air, the advantage of the N95 mask is that the larger particles that may be coated with CV19 are blocked by the mask.

    Unfortunately, the masks that most people are wearing, surgical or otherwise, are ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. They were designed to keep the surgeons spit from contaminating the patient. They do nothing to prevent microbes from entering the airways of the wearer.

    However they do manage to help infect the wearer. In the normal course of breathing during your daily routine you are constantly inhaling viruses and constantly ridding those particles by exhaling. What happens is that some of those exhaled particles are trapped by the moisture in the mask and some are returned to the lungs by your next inhalation. This positive feedback process keeps repeating and builds until you end up getting really high doses of CV19 and other bad things.

    This is known but never talked about. People, especially educated liberals, have closed minds and no common sense.

    1. The only mask I would ever completely trust would the type I wore when I worked around hydrogen sulphide gas while I was in the oil industry. As I mentioned in another thread a few days ago, H2S can be lethal within minutes. If the breathing apparatus I used for that kept me safe, it’ll be good for other, less toxic environments.

      The stuff we’re told to wear now are a fig leaf for the face.

        1. I learned to respect H2S, not fear it. I don’t know if there was ever any concentrated amounts of it where I worked. I simply acted as if there was and that’s one reason I’m alive today.

          One problem with the Woohoo flu is that people have been driven into a state of near-panic about it, along with a corresponding mental paralysis. Governments at all levels saw how those reactions could help them in their unending grab for power.

      LL, Where I live, Small town BC, I have not heard of one case. I am also in the dreaded elder age range (71) Yesterday was the very first time I wore a mask. That was due to one or two local stores requiring a mask to enter. I have been avoiding these stores because of it’s mask mandate, but needed to enter one to pick up a continuing monthly prescription. I’m thinking of making a statement on that light grey cloth mask with the word “Enough” on it. Apart from that I don’t even think about it much, except how stupid this all is. I am certainly not getting depressed, but if you are, consider the reality expressed by many on SDA, That this is a government control experiment, get angry, not depressed. Perhaps consider a statement on your mask, if you have need to wear one. You are among like minded people here, and we support one another with our postings. Take care and don’t let this stupidity get to you, that is what they want.

  14. Prevalence of the virus in Ontario: 41 k cases in a population of 15 million = 0.27%. 7.3% of the official reported cases DIE.
    10 times more people have caught it and were/are walking around with it than have self reported and have been tested. So cases are more like 5% of population. Places like NYC they figure 20% have been infected. That’s in a 6month period. Now they are finding people can get re-infected.

    If you are out and about in the GTA, you have a good chance of catching covid. And if you are of an at risk group, the covid poses a serious risk, risk=probability x consequence. FACT: N95 masks worn properly reduce the probability to catching the virus. The PROTECTION FACTOR (PF ) is not 100%. The mask is not 100% effective and you can pick up he virus other ways. Is wearing a mask to cut your risk by 50% reasonable? Depends on you, your health & age. NO ONE HAS ANY BUSINESS IMPOSING what they consider an acceptable level of risk for themselves on OTHERS.

    We could have cut the risks AND avoided the lockdowns taking some simple precautions. We have special stores hours for at risk groups. If it means accommodating at risk seniors shopping, I can wear the mask. But our government told us we were too stupid to know how to wear the masks while they sent all of our masks to the Chicoms.

      71.4% of the deceased were over 80. If you check the worldometer page and look for the CDC report on New York’s fatalities you will see that 98% of the deceased in New York had more than one co-morbidity. Canada’s own antibody study has indicated that we have detected about 1/10th of the actual cases. Lastly, the long term T cell studies indicate that 1/2 to 1/3 of the population is already immune to covid due to its similarity with other corona-viruses.

      So, your own math would indicate, if you are a healthy person less than 80 years old, that the infection fatality rate is about 7% * 10% (pop) * 30% (age) * 2% (health) * 50% (immune) is 0.0021%. This approach overstates it a bit as age and health are co-variant, but basically, it is not particularly dangerous. This is using the Promethian’s own reported scare inflated numbers, by the way.

      If we presume the overall infection mortality rate is, worst case scenario, about 0.3%, and every person in Canada who can get it gets infected over the next five years, that will change the mortality rate in this country by 100,000 x 0.003 / 5 / 2 = 30. That’s deaths per 100,000 per year. However, it doesn’t cause that many more deaths, it only changes what it is called. Most of the people who die while infected with covid died of other things. 98% of the victims in New York would have died very soon without covid. However, if we stay on track, the overall excess covid related mortality increase might be as bad as 15 per 100,000.

      All cause mortality rate is about 730 per 100,000 plus or minus 10 each year. Suicide kills 14 people per 100,000 each year. Covid might kill as many people as suicide each year. Maybe. Do we make drastic changes to green our economy in order to fight suicide? Or even heart disease (165)?

      How about the fact that 15% of all people over 80 die each year. Every person over 80 has a 15% chance of dying that year. Give your grandmother a hug and let you know you love her each time you see her. You don’t have much time left.

      What sustains me is that we keep getting good news every few weeks. Every few weeks we learn something new and encouraging that indicates it isn’t as bad as people feared. Each day that the mortality stays flat and the cases keep rising even the most dim among us can see that they are not in as much danger as they feared. More good studies come out showing that people get immunity, that many are already immune, that the health effects are not as terrible, and so on and so forth.

      I should not have to reinforce that every death is tragic and if a life is cut short even a week it is a sad thing. Sadly, any discussion of death and numbers will result in people being accused of being heartless.

      But this thing is ending and we will soon come out the other side of it.
