  1. The Wuhan virus relief bill has finally passed the US Senate. Now it goes to the House.

Trump’s improving approval numbers must have convinced the Senate Democrats to stop playing silly buggers. Turns out financially ruining millions of people isn’t actually good politics in any civilized society.

Neither, for that matter, is industrial-scale Arkancide courtesy of their pals in Beijing.

    1. I get a feeling that Nancy is gone for good.. No American likes losers and everybody is on the Trump train except Nancy….Hunker down on the Island-in-the-Bay that Obama gave you, feeding the shit Hawks… She will be remembered as the crazy Bird-lady not from Alcatraz….

      1. She will be remembered as the crazy Bird-lady who should be in Alcatraz….
        There fixed it for you.

  2. One would think that if Trump had any proof of a deliberate creation of this event, we would get a hint of it from his remarks and the Chinese would feel his wrath in due time. I tend to agree with you, it’s quite plausible. But I wonder if the U.S. government (at least the part that reports to Trump) has any proof. There will be consequences even if it’s no worse than a series of blunders and incompetence that allowed it to spread so far and wide.

    1. Peter as soon as this started my first thought was, wow the Chinese sure put a screwing to us for trying to work a trade deal and for Canada arresting an executive of one of their biggest companies. It was subtle, starting with God knows how many cases in China and then just letting it spread. That the west has gone batshit crazy over a virus shows that the Chinese read the situation perfectly. The old saw, if it saves just one life has been our undoing. We will not stop the spread of the virus until we are prepared to live with it by protecting those most at risk and actually treating those who are sick. This nonsense of staying home is just that, nonsense. Have your food delivered, by whom? Were the guys preparing the food tested for the virus? Were the people handling the delivery tested for the virus? Let’s go farther along. Were the police who are eventually going to have to arrest us for civil disobedience tested for the virus? Fools live in a fool’s paradise.

      1. Seriously, thanks old white guy. We desperately need other viewpoints.

As for me, I find the whining that we have to listen to about shortages in stores and hoarding over-the-top. When I think of what the Greatest Generation had to endure during WWII alone – months overseas fighting, rationing of almost everything, curfews, not knowing if your loved ones were alive or dead overseas – I find this generation sadly lacking.

  3. I went to the COOP today, socialist Saskatchewan’s favorite store. They told me I had to phone the order in, then they would bring it to the door for me. I’ve been a member there for over 40 years. I have a friend in the city who owns a private courier. He drives through our town. I phoned him, he stopped at Moose Jaw Walmart. Two hours later, I had my order. He entered the WM store, no problem, however shoppers have to stay two yards away from ”one another.”

    God bless free enterprise.

    1. Free enterprise isn’t much better. Not when it has to be. Spare a thought for those of us forced to shop at an Ottawa Loblaws.

      1. There was one hand-washing station. It was out of soap. The hand sanitizer disappeared from the shelves weeks ago.

      2. Nobody took the six-foot rule seriously, not even the rent-a-cops shooting the breeze in a circle near the door.

Young people, especially, dawdled in the aisles trying to decide what kind of gourmet pasta they wanted to live on till Canada Day, making it impossible to pass at an adequate distance.

      I wanted to scream:

“Wait till you’re prisoners in your apartments like in goddamn Wuhan and you’re starving to death because the guy supposed to deliver your rations stole them to sell on the black market or just figured better you die than his own family!

“Why didn’t you stay in goddamn Cuba or whatever shithole you went for March Break and die there, and let decent people not have to risk their lives trying to buy food!?

“I hope the nurses take one look at you and put you down on the spot!”

But then I would have been the one permanently barred from the only grocery store I’m likely to be allowed to visit without a permit by this time next week.

      1. I looked for nitrile gloves earlier today. The neighbourhood London Drugs was out of them, so I trekked to the Lowes in my part of Edmonton. There were lots there if you know where to look for them.

        1. It’s not shortages I worry about so much (for now).

It’s idiots who think the whole affair is a lark and are putting people’s lives at risk—and giving Justin an excuse to complete the process of turning Canada into a police state to boot.

        2. I have been “social distancing” at home. [I’m starting to really hate that term).

My “home-office” [now hate that one too] is in the basement, so now, among the endless hours of video calls, I am forced to pay attention to the floor that time forgot.

Lo and behold, I find acidentally hidden, a half empty box of 15 year old n95 masks and one p95 mask with three spare filter pads (ask 15 years ago Alec why 3, not 2 or 4, they come in pairs).

Being a hungry citizen, the calls ended, and I ran down to my favorite butcher, slapped on a saw-dusty, questionably old, n95 and walked in. Apparently I’m a Martian. The looks I got from the other patrons…well golly.

Or maybe they noticed I shaved off my beard. Being a severe asthmatic, and holding out faint hope for a ventilator, I figured clean shaven is better… Of course I may be confusing the ventilator with my (long out of date) Scott pak training. Oh wait, I was wearing a mask, how did they know I shaved?

Geez if I cared about face mask peer pressure, i would’ve forgotten that all the countries who socially, or mandatorily use face masks are doing much better than Italy.

Happy to see my butcher is doing well.

        3. Canadian Tire automotive section, near the oil and cleaners. Box of 100 gloves about $25. Different sizes too. Packages of 10 gloves were about $8, great for in the car.

          1. OWG,
            Probably.
I’ve been helping out neighbors who are isolated, seniors and one just out of the hospital from surgery, and spending more time than my normal average in grocery stores and pharmacies. These are areas of abnormally high occupation in these times of contact issues.
I’ll wear the gloves in the stores to reduce the risk to my own family while providing comfort for my neighbors. Sop or not, not taking anything for granted.
Helping others reduce their discomfort by supplying useful info isn’t something I’ll give up on either. Besides, these are really useful when chopping up the hot peppers for the marinade or stuffing while I’m smoking meats!
Remember to wash your hands like you have just been chopping up jalapenos and need to put in your contact lens!

    2. Maybe they have staff that would like to be protected. But, you’d know best being a life-long member with only their best interests at heart.

    3. God Bless a Free Enterprise that believes every Canadian is in a mixed-race relationship.

Either that or they have bought a shatpile of Liberal Social Engineering!

Since nobody can remember the National Anthem due to so many politically correct revisions, I suggest a slogan. Something shorter, more vibrant and representative of todays Canada.

      How about Diversity or Death!

    4. Most coop employees are terrible at helping customers anyway they will love not having to open the doors.

  4. “I went to the COOP today….”
Oddly enough our local CO-OP grocery store in east-central Sk has never been busier with many faces shopping I’ve never seen. Apparently people are coming out from the larger cities where some items are in short supply.

  5. Watching tubi, and every other ad is from the government of Saskatchewan. “build your resume, get paid work the election”.

I am reminded of as scam, and I wonder which Saskatchewan Party connected friend of Brad owns an advertising company…

  6. The following is a fascinating must see interview with a wealth of information and well worth the time.

Meet Dr Shiva Ayyadurai who holds 4 degrees from MIT and will be running for a Republican Senate seat in November in Massachusetts. In this interview with Gary Franchi they discuss the current National Emergency and dive into the disturbing origins of the Coronavirus and the Deep State actors pushing the pandemic narrative.

Watch “EXCLUSIVE: Top Doctor EXPOSES EVERYTHING The Deep State Is Trying To Hide About CV | Dr. Shiva” on YouTube
    https://youtu.be/1BiM1YYIPCo

P.S. PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS INTERVIEW!
If this doesn’t blow your mind I don’t know what will.
I took a page of notes!
    N.R.

    1. You’ll likely hear more about Dr Shiva in the future, this is from Gary Franchi:

Watch “Doctor With 4 MIT Degrees EXPOSES the Deep States Plan to Make Everybody Panic Over CV” on YouTube
      https://youtu.be/NVOPMuZ4sDY

      1. Dr. Shiva is obviously very bright and a computer whiz. His eloquence hides a lack of scientific method in much of what he advocates. There is an obvious contradiction on immune system adaptation early in life and that of vaccinations. Vaccinations are, in effect, a boost to the immune system’s memory bank, adding counter-measures to the arsenal. They’ve been remarkably effective, measurably so in lifespan gains in nations using them.

Computer science is not natural science, not a replacement for biology et al. He’s a talented orator, not a scientist. Rhetorical skill may convict the innocent or the guilty, it’s psychologically persuasive, in itself. It is not hard evidence.

And no, computer simulations will not eliminate animal/human trials. No matter how effective computation logic is for defeating computer viruses. It’s a form of deductive logic, not inductive, not empiricism.

        1. Good points. I think I would have preferred to hear yourself interview Dr Shiva instead of Mr Franchi who obviously doesn’t have a background in science. Thanks for your reply.

        2. Yes 4 degrees and inventor of e-mail but the anti-vax stuff is wildly over the top.
Here’s Bill Bryson in his book The Body explaining vaccines pretty well:
“I haven’t had the mumps twice because inside me are memory T cells and when they identify an invader they instruct B cells to produce proteins known as antibodies that attack the invading organisms. The antibodies recognize a previous invader and why so many diseases will only make you sick once. It is the process at the heart of vaccination.”

          1. Thanks for your reply nold.
Exactly. However, the same virus that causes chickenpox also causes shingles. Although shingles and chickenpox are caused by the same virus, they are not the same illness. Chickenpox is usually a milder illness that affects children. Shingles results from a reactivation of the virus long after the chickenpox illness has disappeared.

Have you seen the American television series “John Adams?” They showed Abigail Adams and their children getting inoculated for Small Pox in July 1776. It was a novel idea then. It worķed for them but thousands died as the pox spread West. Here is more info:

            https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1775%E2%80%931782_North_American_smallpox_epidemic

    2. Nancy I agree that is a fascinating interview. He states that getting out into the sun is great for Vitamin D. I can sit on my front porch from 11 am to 3:30pm and get full sun. In Britain they are banning people from sunbathing in parks, stopping people hiking in the Peak district. Absolute madness. You can maintain 6 feet separation lying on your towel.

      1. It’s all about control with the law.

I saw an item on a News Show in Britain where police cars were near a playground and the policemen were shouting through a megaphone advising people (nicely) to go home for their own safety due to coronavirus.

The young men in the field were just kicking around a soccer/football and they were separated well over 6 to 10 feet apart. Nobody moved or listened to the police because they were not breaking the law and were well within their right to be there on a beautiful day. They too, were just trying to get some ‘rays!’

So far no such problems in Canada, rather Alberta, that I heard of, but who knows, time will tell.

I take 2000 IU vitamin D tablets daily, rain or shine. I feel better when I do. Also take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement, extra calcium and Vitamin C along with a healthy sugarless diet. On special occasions I’ll cheat and have a small slice of cake with a cup of tea. A girl has got to ‘live!’

    1. At Gateway Pundit the headline is, “Kathy Griffin Hospitalized with “UNBEARABLY PAINFUL” Symptoms, Blames President Trump”

      I blame Karma.

  7. Nancy, that interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai is fascinating. I left a post on a dead thread saying that NOBODY is telling us to build up our immune systems during this crisis. That would give us too much power as sovereign individuals instead of being slaves of the State & media. It is an obvious action to take, but we live in fear of an alleged monster form of flu.

I don’t know if Shiva’s protocol is correct for any given person due to the massive, but only 2 days/month doses. This is the protocol in brief.

This distinguished Scientist made his money through innovations based on his brilliance and drive. He is not a trough feeder like most of Congress and lizard lobbyists. He is fighting the parasitical machine that has been at Trump’s throat from the start. A very brave man indeed.

    1. Thanks for your reply and link.

Here’s hoping that people will take heed of what Dr Shiva is saying. The information is out there.

Essentially, now more than ever, everyone should seek to boost their immune systems by eating well.

      1. Shiva seems like an interesting guy and his message is highly important. Thanks for posting.

        1. Thanks. He is very wise! A simple Message: eat well.

(Office administrators mouths must’ve dropped when they saw that a 14 yo invented email)

“On Tuesday, a number of health, faith, environmental, labour and social justice groups wrote to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, urging him not provide any more new money to companies, only to workers.
They say Ottawa should not bail out the sector by offering share purchases or loan guarantees.
“This is a crucial tipping point, and climate change must factor into all of our decision-making,” Dr. Courtney Howard, board president of Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, said in a statement.”

Ironic that in a time of world health crisis some people might like to take a doctor out to the back forty.

    https://cape.ca/

    1. I’ve had it with these climate change communists. They are mostly gullible fools but the really evil ones are in it for the money. ie. Al Gore If anyone wants a true look at the world temperature, go to http://temperature.global/ This is a site run by real climatologists and monitors all of the world temperatures by the minute and updates immediately and gives a comparison to the last 30 years of data. FYI its been cooling since 2015.

      1. I have had it too, but I have given up hope. There is no getting through to these gullible fools. Whenever I have tried, they respond with anger, or they do not want to know. They completely close their minds. We are stuck with climate change zealotry and all the damage it will bring.

  9. Apparently China’s World Health Organization doesn’t believe Israel exists. According to the True North story Israel is listed as occupied territory.

  10. Here are the (publicly available) email addresses of the members of LEOC, in the format ready to be pasted into Thunderbird:

They came from this page: https://www.dereksloan.ca/contactleoc?utm_campaign=act_enzonmar25_22_1&utm_medium=email&utm_source=dereksloan

Write them an email and urge them to delay the CPC leadership vote until after the bug blows over and townhall meetings can be held.
Assuming that it will blow over and that there will still be human civilization left around.

    1. They purloined Jim Karahalios’ entry fee and then threw him under the bus. CPC is vile and dead to me.

  11. Justin Trudeau’s Globe and Mail, this morning, has a story about how News Media Canada is dissatisfied about the $30-million supplemental fed grant (bribe) to the media during this crisis. This lobby group wants more dinero negro (bribe money). Most media coverage about Trudeau’s government has been positive. Imagine that.

    1. Dinero negro means black money but calling it that would probably make you a racist. Besides it IS bribe money and Juthtin of Unethical knows it is because he’s a scumbag.

  12. The Globe published an editorial today, FINALLY calling out Trudeau, as quietly as they could, that he has really put NO legal restrictions on the border, until today.

This is in the face of THOUSANDS of reports from travellers that they had no questions, no restrictions and that there was no information when they returned at Canadian airports and Canada customs.

The media has REFUSED to call Trudeau to account on this and they and he will have lots of Canadian blood on their hands as a result of this.

  13. Interesting series of tweets on using masks, including homemade to protect against Wuhan virus.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/jeremyphoward/status/1242894378441506816

Click follow the thread at bottom of tweet

Yeah, I know doctors say such masks don’t work. Well health professionals work long hours in a high risk area. I just need to go grocery shopping.

I’d rather have a mask that is 80% effective than no mask.

    Food for thought

    1. Appalling. Watch Trudeau go for it, but I don’t think Trump will go along, so that may save us. By the way, does anyone know if the MSM has stopped covering Trump pressers on the virus? Surely that would be a bridge too far.

    1. Greg, at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if the US is guarding against malicious actors and goods being trans shipped from their enemies like the Chicoms and Iranians.

  14. From another blog: https://www.blazingcatfur.ca/2020/03/26/david-staples-who-policy-fuelled-canadas-failure-to-slow-wuhan-coronavirus-at-borders-trudeauliedpeopledied/
There’s a photo of our “Group of Six” who sat on their hands while COVID-19 rampaged and whiny Indians blocked rail lines across Kanaduh. They “negotiated” what, I don’t know. It’s a secret. Meanwhile planes from Iran and China landed daily at YVR….and still do. See: Chinese Virus GRM March 26, 2020 at 10:54 am
What’s the name of that unit we field….JTF2? Five minutes at any one “blockade” and it’s more than over, but our veterans “ask for too much”.

  15. Watch CTV. It’s gag inducing the amount of tongue bathing this cretin PM and his “government” is getting.

  16. From Martin Armstrong, Armstrong Economics

    CDC is a PRIVATE organization.

Some people have questioned my concern over both the CDC and John Hopkins University is a PRIVATE organization where the CDC accepts private funding – NOT ONLY GOVERNMENT!The CDC is quasi-government under the Department of Health and Human Services which strangely has sources of fundingthat are predicated on the fact that it also has a private 501(c)(3) public charity, like the Clinton Foundation. The CDCFoundation receives charitable contributions and philanthropic grants from individuals, foundations, corporations, universities, NGOs and other organizations to advance the work of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is NOT a government-funded organization. It is not exclusively a government-funded – very curious.

  17. This article appeared yesterday in The Calgary Herald under the title of “Catch some falling stars”:

“It’s easy to Imagine a world where celebrities are irrelevant”
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/03/22/easy-imagine-world-celebrities-irrelevant/

Can’t seem to find it in the Herald on line.
The linked version is behind the wall, you can read just the introduction if you can’t get past the wall.

It is very much in the same vein as the ending of the monologue of Ricky Gervais gave at the foreign press awards.

  18. The US has had their Border Security guys at the northern border for years. The same guys that patrol the southern border. If you drive near the border of the US you will see the green and white trucks.

They work the border. Not necessarily the official border crossings. They can stop you, detain you, search, seize and arrest you if they feel like it. Trump doesn’t need to send the military – these guys got it covered. If he deploys the military he’s got something else on his mind.

      1. As damaging as attending a Taking on the Tyrant panel discussion during NAFTA negotiations?

      2. All the people I saw on that thread need to be jap slapped. Bob Rae, juthtin, Steve Paikin, Kathleen Wynne as well as all the nobodies.

      3. The bong must have heard from Trump. He must have a good reason to want to deploy troops. There has always been illegals slipping into the US from Canada and maybe that has escalated? The illegals ( somalians/hatian excepted) arrive in Canada but their real destination is the US.

The libranos will hate having the American miltary at the border. That is something that should only occur only under a Conservative government. They will be unable to explain it away except the usual TDS.

Not sure the Cossack or the bong are owed a favour by Trump? If he’s determined to deploy he may not be dissuaded…and he may be sending them a message.

Don’t expect the media whores to let out any information out.

  19. Blackie’s bought and paid for media are excited about the new Angus-Reid poll, that shows most Canadians think Great Leader is doing a super job. Twenty more years of Great Leader, and then his son Dear Leader can take over.

  20. The Unifor journalism award for today goes to the Liberal Party’s Globe and Mail, with a story titled, “The Trump Plague”.

  21. If it’s clear in the western sky where you are, take a look outside. There’s a new moon with Venus about halfway up. Great sight!

    1. Wow! It’s crisp out!

It’s a clear night here in Calgary — the new moon and Venus are most beautiful! Sky is not completely dark yet!
      + 5° C…..will get a photo!

      1. Just got a neat shot. The moon is just above a tree line, then there’s a wide strip of lighter blue sky, and to the left slightly, is Venus way up, twinkling away….

When I zoom in at Venus it is not round as one might expect, but there is an oddly shaped ‘thing’ almost like an egg and then to the left there is a haze, like clouds.

Zooming in at the moon I see the bottom of it with the crescent facing left. It is surrounded by light clouds, just a few.

The whole shot, when not zooming in, looks like a black dot. Closer, some trees, then the complete photo emerges. It is mesmerizing!

Also seconds ago looking at the Northern Lights in Churchill Manitoba,–bright green and beautiful on:
