January 21, 2020: Reader Tips

This evening we travel back to August 28, 1963 to hear Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech in which there was this brilliant sentence:

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.

Pause for a moment to think about how he would have felt to see millions of Woke Americans today ignoring the content of one’s character and entirely judging a person by the color their skin. Such is the power of the pseudo-religious cult of Leftism to twist the impressionable minds of malleable individuals in a very bad, and dare we say evil, direction.

Your inspirational tips would be especially appreciated today.

    1. Well they prefer to be judged by skin color, because if content of character is the benchmark, the left fall short almost every time.

      1. All the leftists I argue with now have replaced that quote with the statement: “well, did you know that MLK Jr. was in favor of UBI !” “That MLK Jr. was a Socialist who believed the government should give everyone free money!”

Character … has been replaced with FREE MONEY! as the legacy of MLK Jr.

    1. My “personal view” of this is that unintended acceleration is restricted to those who brake with their left foot, with some added risks with those that haven’t driven a quick car in awhile, especially the Audi 5000 fiasco from years ago…

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudden_unintended_acceleration

Yes, I am blaming the drivers, those that should know exactly how to shut off a car in an instant, if the need arises. Especially those that will never accept someone saying, I think you had your foot on the brake, and the other foot on the gas, or electric acceleration device in the Tesla.

      1. One see’s many in this city driving that way….easy telltale being brake lights coming on/off constantly …. And its often a certain known piss poor driving demographic doing it.

      2. So, isn’t every Tesla like an airliner? Meaning … doesn’t every Tesla (essentially) carry a “black box” on board? Tracking every move of the driver and car? Wouldn’t Tesla have definitive, unassailable, PROOF of each case of sudden acceleration?

        1. Kenji, great point.

But Elon is like the Iranians; he and they have the data, we’ll never see it.

  1. Martin Luther king, what a great man, plagariser, rapist, communist, destroyer of healthy communities, does not get any better than that let me tell you. That’s why I have a dream that one day, my children will not be forced to lionize such a pos as that man

  2. Now, thanks to the Left, you can determine the content of someone’s character by their skin color

    1. You always could – “That man is a __________________ { – fill in the blank – }!!!”

      – And sadly, the left aren’t the only ones who play this game. The old courtroom defence against a woman accusing you of rape was referred-to as “nuts or sluts”. There’s a lot to be said against old white men, and sadly, the realization that there are bad apples in both genders (you noticed I only mention two?) and all shades of skin colour, is taking a long time to break through the SJW diversity curtain.

      1. OMG – “That is a fashion show?” Reminds me of a few guys whom I met in university at parties – very weedy, very skinny, hunched-over. You would NEVER want to see them naked. I remember in the mid-90’s meeting someone like that, who took a shine to me – a single parent, who owned her own house in Toronto. He really tried to “make time” with me and suggested that if we got together in a relationship, that he would be happy to “help out where he could” financially, but that he was a grad student (30+ years old) in some esoteric studies and needed to concentrate full time on school. Needless to say, I declined his offer.

        1. The young men at Woodstock in 1969 were just beautiful! They’re still around, looking older and gentlemanly. Sigh!

These peoplekind are just for laughs! Ha! They’ve succeeded. Bet they have the last laugh though. What do great looking models make an hour, 10K? 20K? But— those clothes, gee, next thing they’ll be wearing discarded wine barrels.

  3. “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.
    – Martin Luther King

I suggest that Mr. King should have given credit where credit is due:

“7 But Adonai said to Sh’mu’el, “Don’t pay attention to how he [one of David’s brothers] looks or how tall he is, because I have rejected him. Adonai doesn’t see the way humans see — humans look at the outward appearance, but Adonai looks at the heart.”
    – Sh’mu’el Alef (1 Samuel) 16 (CJB)

  4. I am very, very happy to say I was wrong, and there was no violence or other problems today in Richmond.

The VCDL protests at the VA Capital in Richmond had 22,000 attendees and no violence. Was it because Antifa was a no-show? Without Antifa to oppose the Gun Rights attendees, there was no way for the VA State Senior Law Enforcement to push the two sides together and make them fight like they did in Charlottesville in 2017. Without two sides arguing or opposing each other, there also was no way for any agent provocateurs in the crowds to create and amplify conflicts.

I heard that the VCDL talked to the leaders of Antifa beforehand. Whatever happened, it worked.

    https://twitchy.com/dougp-3137/2020/01/20/there-it-is-huffpost-journo-was-spinning-so-hard-he-admitted-law-abiding-gun-owners-at-virginiarally-are-not-the-problem/

I am so happy that everyone went home safe, and the Mainstream Media was disappointed.

    1. – and actually I read that one chapter of AntiFa did show-up – a local chapter, whose take on this was that arbitrary regulations against gun-owners, will likely presage arbitrary regulations against anything else the government decides it doesn’t like, which is, well, “fascism”. So the article I read – can’t for the life of me remember where I read it – related that that AntiFa chapter showed-up and protested peacefully, right alongside everybody else.

AntiFa walking the talk – never thought I’d hear that…

      1. Pffft. If any of those losers were there it was with tight sphincters and heads down and disguised in normalcy. Antifa fat chicks and douchebags with bike locks wearing masks were nowhere near.
In the real world, Antifa are severely outnumbered and outgunned.
Yesterday was the real world in the US showing lawmakers where the real power lies.

  5. Some good news this morning. Unifor president Jerry Dias was arrested in Regina yesterday for not obeying a court order.

      1. DM, I didn’t see any — if there was none on the late night news, shame on them.

        (See below @8:14 am link)

  6. And then in 2008 a man named Barak Obama, or perhaps he is Barry Soetoro, arrived on the scene concealing every possible meter by which Americans could judge him by his character. He concealed his birth certificate, his school grades, his college transcripts, his college application and enrollment forms. He voted “present” on every bill in the Illinois State Senate and the U.S. Senate so that people could not possibly know what the man stood for.
So in 2008, Americans elected him President of the United States of America solely because of his skin color.
    Sad really.

    1. Well Said OZ and 100% bang on the buck.

8 yrs later, all of that, showed what an utter fkn Failure he was…which had SFA to do with his skin colour and everything to do with his appeasing, race baiting, gutless vindictive character. Just like your average Pedowood actor.

  7. True North reports that Blackie’s cabinet dined on $47/per dozen donuts while discussing the middle class yesterday.

  8. As Oz stated, Barry was elected because of his skin colour although he at least could speak.
Look at the character content of PM Dickspank, Blackbeard, Justupid, The Clown Prince, Dummkopf, the Kokanee Groper. Elected because of his last name, first and foremost.
He’s the worst Prime Minister in the history of the country but what is so appalling is that he represents what so many urban leftards want – a fake human being to tell them how wonderful they are.

    1. “Barry was elected because of his skin colour”

He was elected by the voters because he was a black. He was selected by the nomenklatura because he was a red.

    1. Yes, we must strive to restore Canada’s strategic ice reserves. Only when Toronto is 3km below the surface of the ice can we rest.

      1. Add to that when Lotusland is either buried under ice or underwater after the Big One. The country would be much better off without that place.

    2. non-partisan NGO – that’s a good one.Surely it is the consumers who should do something – like running naked in the streets, walking to work and using chalk and slate to write reports. Sack cloth and ashes good; warm clothes bad.

  9. https://business.financialpost.com/news/economy/welcome-to-peak-decade-from-globalization-to-central-banks
    Via FP, from Bloomberg.
“Evolving urban architecture will also increasingly constrain car usage. The shift is already underway in mature markets. Only 26 per cent of U.S. 16-year-olds earned a driver’s licence in 2017 compared with almost half just 36 years ago, according to Sivak Applied Research. Even if overall car sales remain robust, cheaper technology such as robotaxis and developments such as ride-sharing stand to take the shine off their attractiveness.”

Davos talk of the future. Most of those who will be in attendance are your enemy.

    1. The Magical Retard has spoken.
      https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/greta-thunberg-calls-on-world-leaders-to-heed-global-heating-science/ar-BBZaPdR?ocid=spartandhp

Haven’t heard it called “heating science” before, but I like it.
And how old does ReGreta have to be before I can refer to her as a D-bag? She’s pretty much calling “deniers” killers, at the very least. Its all about her gen and the future. Hope I keep from getting euthanized to see her and her gen get their Karma, but I doubt it.

      1. “Heating Science” — very appropriate since all that science claiming CO2 causes global warming has been cooked up.

    2. “..Evolving urban architecture…”

Translation: Once we have fully impoverished all that live in Western Democracies, they will all be living in 250 cubic ft Pods with gang bathrooms and Zero Parking…all utilizing public transit. Remember the “built” Soviet cities replete with those ghastly and beyond ugly 25 story tennements..?? China’s got a few of them too.

      Your UN “sustainable” world. (GULAG)
Fuck DAVOS, the UN, Climate Change, Trudeau and Globalism, International Monetary Fund, UNWRA – UNDRIP etc…..did I leave anyone out.?? Agenda 21-2030 is real and its being implemented right under our noses since at least the early 1900’s.

Thanx Maurice you treasonous Laurentien bastard.

  10. Michelle Rempel held a townhall meeting and Q&A last night. The questions were all collected up front, then she answered them in order (combining similar questions). My notes about her answers:

Started with state of the riding. Alberta’s place within Canada, and how we must be equal before the law. All 4 seats in PEI cover the same population as her riding. Quebec mega-projects don’t have the same environmental impact studies as Alberta mega-projects.

Q&A method was a collection of all questions, then Michelle starting at one end and answering through to the other end, sometimes grouping common or similar questions.

My notes: The value propagation in our country should not depend on the party in power. Areas should not be richer or poorer depending on the national leadership.

Why doesn’t our federal government support exporting clean Canadian natural as to countries that want to buy cleaner fuels? She doesn’t know.

Michelle is on board with greenhouse gas emissions decreases, but not in a way that disincentivises Canadian industry. No Canadian production should be held to a higher standard than that which is allowed to be imported into the country. If Alberta pays a carbon production cost, so should imported Saudi oil.

Bill C69 adds to regulatory risk as seen by businesses and international investment. Bill C69 and (missed the reference) are the same as the National Energy policy of his father. Same intent, better marketing.

Party policy and advertising questions can be dealt with afterwards, this is a non-partisan townhall.

We need to be as effective a voice for Alberta’s interests as the BQ is for Quebec. And that means it must be recognized that the actions taken (like a provincial pension plan, even if it increases the retirement age of the rest of the country) are serious and only a starting position. She did not talk about any stronger approaches or thoughts.

What is the status of euthanasia in Canada. The discussion hasn’t been discussed in the elected legal bodies. Consent must be withdrawable, cannot be a one time choice.

Electoral reform – she’s against proportional government because it will balkanize and fragment the country. In other words, she supports the federalist approach.

CBC funding and mandate, print news bail-out, Canadian content rules were all discussed together. We don’t need a bureaucratic system, we need a level playing field. The current system doesn’t work and is undemocratic.

Private gun ownership reduces violent crime and firearms violence. No one supports gun violence. Gun violence doesn’t come from legal gun owners. Over 90% of gun crime is smuggled and already illegal weapons. More than this, confiscation of private property is wrong. Particularly when it is not discussed in a democratically elected body. This is different from eminent domain – the government doesn’t propose to force purchase, they propose to remove property without payment.

Canada infrastructure bank is a bad idea. Why can it build pipelines in China but not in Canada?

Foreign environmental groups need to be part of the open playing field. Play by the rules if you’re going to be tax exempt. Albertans are portrayed by the (eastern) media as being all of one type. In truth, if you come here and want to work it used to be that the sky was the limit. We just want to be equal in opportunity under the law, so we can continue to work.

(end paste). There’s 2 or 3 items I disagree with, but I find her views and approach much better than most politicians I’ve ever talked to.

    1. Michelle is on board with greenhouse gas emissions decreases then she’s just another uninformed slob politico who probably gets her “information” from the CBC.

      1. Yup. Not many people have run the numbers and almost crapped themselves when they realize how close to the extinction of all land based life we were before humans learned to burn bogs and coal.

Instead they think a return to levels of several million years ago is brand new and will bring about the thermageddon.

    1. I heard similar things 40 years ago. Alberta didn’t get much sympathy back then.

  11. The CTV-CBC News cartel censored Donald Trump’s speech at Davos this morning. Heather “Tokyo Rose” Hiscox, on CBC News this morning, gave one quick Trump-soundbite at Davis, before devoting many minutes discussing the upcoming impeachment trial.

  12. National Post reports that Canada’s defense industry is losing millions of dollars in contracts, because of Blackie’s bogged down approval process and red tape. Perhaps they can build wind turbines and solar panels instead.

  13. Blackie’s parliamentary channel is showing this morning a meeting on the rise of white supremacy in Canada. White people are running rampant in Canada. Hosted by a Global News anchor they are discussing how Islamophobia is running rampant in Canada, along with other phobias. Only Justin can save us. According to them Trump is one of the reasons.

  14. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/lineups-outside-grocery-stores-in-st-johns-as-state-of-emergency-hits-day-5/ar-BBZaNFr?ocid=spartandhp

The line-ups to get food show how far too many Canadians are ill-prepared.
I understand some people don’t have a lot of money and are just getting by mostly because taxes are so f**king high, but there are also a lot of people who are clueless, who can afford to have a plan B but they’re too stupid, too lazy and probably delusional.
Shit happens. If you think you’re immune, you’re a Full Retard.

  15. The libranos are in Winnipeg on a retreat. Somebody ordered donuts for the 100’s at the retreat. The fool bongo picked them up at the donut shop (not Horton’s). Of course it was a photo op. Now he’s getting blasted on anti social media.

You’d think by now he’d have the sense to not do this stuff. Send a grunt to pick up the dognuts. Hasn’t he heard of Skip the Dishes?

Reminds me of a story a buddy of mine tells. In T1’s day my buddy was a very sr civil servant. He said that on occasion they would work late. Somebody would order pizza. Peeaire never once pulled out his wallet. He was a notorious skinflint. I imagine bongo is the same.

    1. I check out the still report every day. Sometimes more often.
These two posts are particularly informative.

  16. So much for taxing the rich! *apologies CBC link,

“British tabloid outlets have reported that Trudeau has agreed already that Canada would pay for the couple’s security. The London-based Evening Standard reported that Trudeau has “privately assured the Queen” that Canada would shoulder the costs of protecting Harry and Meghan.

However, Trudeau said Tuesday the Canadian government has not yet brokered such a deal.”

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-her-majesty-prince-harry-meghan-security-costs-canada-1.5434579

    1. Blackie would lie to St. Peter at the Gates of Heaven.
Lucky for him when the time comes the gate he goes through will be a Burning Sphincter.

  17. True North reports that Huawei met with two Liberal MPs and a member of the privy council in December.

    1. You gotta think it’s near impossible for the libranos to give the 5G deal to Huawei. The stunts the chicoms have pulled off both in Canada and against us hasn’t exactly ingratiated them.

Bongo will take a big risk if he announces he’s going ahead with the chicoms. Serious blowback if they get the call.

  18. I’m sure this is inspirational!

Vote Conservative and End Democracy as we know it!

The Halifax Chronicle Herald, the largest newspaper in the Maritimes and slightly more Liberal than the Toronto Red Star, doing their usual awesome job of holding the opposition Conservatives to account. The governing Liberals not so much. One wonders what Justupid’s wife, girlfriend, boyfriend and indeterminate think of the big wet kiss he gets from the Maritime Media every day.

“In many ways, Canada’s idea of democracy is at stake.” (and my senatorship)

“Conservatives could produce respectful, constructive politics with a traditional emphasis on prosperity, low taxation and personal security.” (if they govern exactly like the Liberals)

“Or they could slide into Trump-style authoritarian populism and ruling by Twitter meme, where facts don’t matter and government serves the ruling party. ” ( believe our Fake News, it’s better for you, like Liberal Rulers)

“Right now, Trumpism is a losing electoral formula in Canada, but its simplistic messages carry an appeal that can’t be ignored.” (you just aren’t listening to our Fake News)

“So the border wall against Trumpism is, in effect, the Conservative Party. It’s not at all clear that the party is up to the job.” ( all you conservative Gomers need to sacrifice your principles to retain our Liberal Entitlements)

Unfortunately, the paywalled Brunswick News website, possibly the cheapest, saddest newspaper website in history won’t even allow copy and paste, and so I can’t reproduce their election comments.

Suffice to say, it seems unanimous that the Canadian Media believes the Devil resides west of Toronto somewhere and eastern conservatives need to save the country by ensuring that western conservatives(thar’s devils about) don’t inhibit Liberal governance by the Conservative Party.

Nonstop, biased, partisan pro-Liberal anti-conservative fake news all the time Maritimes.

  19. This is why I don’t believe in global warming.

    https://www.fnlondon.com/articles/absurd-davos-has-become-an-international-bunfight-20200120

A spokesperson for Davos said: “Fewer people are coming to Davos by private jet. For those that do, this year for the first time they will be able to travel using sustainable aviation fuel, which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80% over their full life cycle.”

“sustainable aviation fuel” will eventually be a requirement for air travel. Only the rich will be able to afford it.

    1. Maybe his criminal background was going to come under scrutiny?

Good riddance – we’ve had enough of jean

  20. Post Millennial reports that someone paid protesters to support the Huawei exective outside the courtroom. Many of them didn’t know what they were protesting. Maybe Blackie’s Mounties should investigate Chinese hanky panky in Canada instead of chasing Nazis running rampant in Canada.

    1. What would be much more interesting is whether CSIS agrees with this analysis and if there will be any cooperation in getting rid of this threat.

  21. Sad to think that the first black American president was such a putz — and the second one even worse.

  22. “free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty free at last”
you are free Dr King. your legacy will endure to the end of time and beyond. that is MY dream and hope.
I am old enough to recollect first time I heard the speech in its entirety drove me to tears.
    what a sap eh?
