Y2Kyoto: Ocasio-Butts

How Much Will the Green New Deal Cost?

As it happens, a team of Stanford engineers led by Mark Jacobson outlined just such a plan back in 2015. Jacobson’s repowering plan would involve installing 335,000 onshore wind turbines; 154,000 offshore wind turbines; 75 million residential photovoltaic systems; 2.75 million commercial photovoltaic systems; 46,000 utility-scale photovoltaic facilities; 3,600 concentrated solar power facilities with onsite heat storage; and an extensive array of underground thermal storage facilities.

They’re laughing at her. They shouldn’t.

    Buttsy is a Liar!
    Buttsy is a Liar!

Scheer-the-steer ordered all his little sheep to support the Paris Climate Accord….just like all of turdo’s little sheep!

  2. But:
a). Offshore wind turbines will get wiped out by all the severe cat 4 and 5 hurricanes which will be more prevalent due to climate change. šŸ™‚

    b) on land windmills will kill rare
birds. šŸ™ And the low frequency noise will cause health issues . Lots of lawsuits coming.

    c) solar cell disposal will incur all kinds of costs.

    d) industrial scale solar farms will impair the survival of the rare silver flatbush ground squirrel and other rare animals and plants. šŸ™

    To name a few issues.

Didnā€™t Ocasio say she wanted to replace airplanes with high speed trains? Wonder how much land they will expropriate to make that happen?

    1. You beat me to it … Joe …

335,000 onshore wind turbines; 154,000 offshore wind turbines; 75 million residential photovoltaic systems; 2.75 million commercial photovoltaic systems; 46,000 utility-scale photovoltaic facilities; 3,600 concentrated solar power facilities with onsite heat storage; and an extensive array of underground thermal storage facilities.

Won’t these contraptions get in the way of She Guevara’s high-speed train to Hawaii ?

And please tell me that the Stanford Engineers were just running the numbers for shits and giggles … and were NOT serious about actually IMPLEMENTING any of this nonsense?

    2. Let’s not forget the continuous construction of new renewables because they suffer so much damage from weather events like hurricanes and blizzards, as well as the short lifespan. That means building 30,000 to 50,000 wind turbines every year just for replacements. Then there’s the cost of dismantling and disposing of the30,000 to 50,000 broken or worn out ones every year. Plus the same thing for all the solar installations.

    3. Joe, high speed trains powered by what, solar panels? I am beginning the believe AOC is not just dumb and naive as I first thought, but pure batshit crazy!

When your best case scenario is priced at $13 trillion, perhaps it’s time to re evaluate the scheme.

      That is a lotta money!

And as Bill Whittle showed on “Afterburner” a few years ago, you could seize, not tax but outright seize every cent every rich person in America has and you wouldn’t make a dent in the debt, and AOC believes the solution is to raise taxes on billionaires to 70%.

      My f***ing oath!

      1. It seems to me that most Americans are perfectly ok with raising taxes on the very rich. It doesnā€™t matter if it makes economic sense, it feels good to a lot of Americans.

To effectively counter the stupidity of Ocasio and her Dem allies, attack their positions in as many ways as possible. She wants to replace airplanes with high speed trains. Sheā€™ll say the new solar panels and battery storage will work just fine to power the trains. Some people will start to wonder ā€˜will that really work?ā€ But now we also tell all the airline and airport workers they will be out of work. Plus large numbers of farmers and suburbanites will loose their land and homes to the new right of ways. And Iā€™m sure the rare pink toed horny toad will be adversely affected .

The Dems embracing this green Soviet nonsense may cost them the next election. I I suspect the Dems tax the rich is a good idea for most voters. But the Republicans need to attack all of Ocasioā€™s green ideas while at the same time portraying them as the true philosophy of the Dems

        1. Americanā€™s credo:

Donā€™t tax you, donā€™t tax me … tax that guy behind the tree. Tax ā€œthoseā€ people who we donā€™t know. Those rich people who live behind gates and walls.

          https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2010/01/dont_tax_you_dont_tax_me_tax_t.html

Sadly, the vast majority of Americans cannot do the elementary math necessary to understand the tax reaper comes for thee … or your childrenā€™s, children’s, children’s, children

  3. Printing More Money!….That was how Obama paid for Obama Care..He used Medicare IOU bonds of 1 Trillion, printing the cash and nobody has accounted for that theft, or the continued Printing of Medicare Bond Money…Nancy bragged how Obama Care & Medicare were co-mingled such that eliminating Obama care would also eliminate Medicare….

In Arizona the Democrats accused McSally of Medicare malfeasance, but she failed to defend herself with the Truth that the thieves were/are Democrats…Why??? did the Republicans also steal from Medicare & SS bonds….

  4. No. And don’t laugh at the idea that the banks will happily print Sandy all the money she needs for her mad scheme. They will, by the truckload—just like they did for the Former Occupant to prop up his rĆ©gime.

Weep instead, that they won’t print a single dollar to finance a border wall.

Show me who controls a country’s money supply, and I’ll show you who makes the rules.

Then show me where that money goes, and I’ll show you what their priorities are.

Hint: securing the existence of the American nation and a future for American children isn’t one of them.

  5. The tribe is VERY happy with the Green New Deal, and will spend as much as it takes to ensure politicians who support it get elected. After all, what better way to destroy national sovereignty and Western culture?

  6. Maximize hydro and co-gens, of course. Beyond that, the only energy transition that makes sense right now is from coal to natgas to nuclear. It is the only realistic scenario that keeps electricity reliable and affordable. Keeping electricity reliable and affordable is also the only way that electric vehicles will be viable,if that’s the goal.

Wind and solar need 100% conventional power backup (even with storage systems because storage will still not guarantee reliability). Natgas and nuclear power does need wind and solar at all. No power systems need wind or solar because intermittent, variable power is pretty much useless.

Here’s a plan – Perhaps all that needs to be done in Canada is to build one nuclear power plant per year until we reach 90% plus electricity generation through hydro and nuclear. You’ll still need natgas for grid stability, black starts (?) and peak power demand. Redirect a few billion per year that goes to corporate welfare, regional development, foreign aid, government advertising and other non-essential, wasteful spending to nuclear power construction.

After that, see if any other countries have actually reduced their emmissions as much as promised. Only the US has had much success and they did it by converting to natgas, not through taxes and emmissions trading.

    1. Correction : natgas and nuclear power does *not* need wind and solar at all.

That Jacobson report was heavily criticized by everyone who understands electricity systems. The criticism was so heavy he started to sue people, then reconsidered after even more backlash. He seems kooky, to put it mildly.

      1. Whew …
Most of us probably knew you forgot the word “not” when reading the part “at all”…
It’s a funny one, just imagine NatGas and nuclear power “needing” wind and solar for help? (painful ‘gangrene’ lie)

(Ha! I kept spelling “enquiry” with an “i” earlier, my bad! No corrections. I let it…. go. This is my mea culpa, TGIF)

        1. I let a lot of grammar, spelling, missing words and typos “go” but an error that dramatically changes the meaning of the sentence or a math error is where I draw the line. ELA was not my favorite subject.

    2. Nuclear power plants are asking for a terrorist to hack in and program the reactor to self-destruct, rendering the countryside within a 50km radius uninhabitable for centuries to come.

No. Canada has plenty of oil and gas. Use that as our fuel source.

If your goal is generating electricity—and not fuel for the atomic bombs you plan to use to destroy western civilization—nuclear is simply too risky.

      1. Operations computers are not connected to the outside world, same in pulp/paper mills, non nuclear power plants, water/sewage treatment plants, etc.

      2. “…nuclear is simply too risky.”

Yet another topic you have absolutely no clue about yet you keep flapping your gums. Nuclear is by far the best, cheapest and reliable method. If the world was not filled with idiot like you on one side and green idiots on the other all our energy generation problems would have been solved decades ago.

        1. Yes indeed!
Worked for AECL decades ago and am still perplexed why nuclear hasn’t won the day. Vested interests and politics, I betcha.

        2. SALT thorium reactors are the way to go. Non pressurized, and a great fail safe system provides the best alternative. Plus, instead of a U235 reactor, the majority of the fuel is used in the fission process. Problem is, the current regimes are too heavily invested in D2O reactor technology

  7. This lady, they say, went to school to study economics.
    What kind of economics?
Don’t know when they mention economics in the grade school, though it would seem that those young would know that you can’t get something for nothing.

Well, you can for a short while, then you crash. Apparently the current politicians don’t mind when the economy collapses after they are dead.
It would seem then, that the sooner they die, the better the would could be.

    1. Some real morons on that twitter. Good God, some people are so incredibly stupid. Methinks that if such stupidity takes hold, both the U.S. and Canada will tear themselves apart. Civil war territory because people just aren’t going to allow the Marxists to override them.

  8. Yay he has a plan. Soviet 5 year plans were more sensible than this dip$hit’s plan to control climate. In a sane society attempts to control climate would be considered deliberate economic sabotage, one cannot be that stupid.

    1. We no longer live in a sane society. Haven’t you been paying attention?

Sheeple really believe we can control climate.

They tell children that they can change from boy to girl if they want, and vice versa.

They really believe government can give us utopia just by passing legislation guaranteeing us our every dream.

Yes, one can be that stupid.

      1. Yes, I have been paying attention. Yes, I know sheeple can be that stupid. I was talking about the red shepherds not sheeple. Even Occasional Kotex must know that her postulates and promises are full of bovine excrement.

          1. No she does not believe it. She merely understands that saying outrageous progressive $hit is good for career.

  9. Oh please God…let this happen. The thought of lefty’s in Canada wiping their asses with dirt and burning tires to stay warm when we turn into Venezuela North puts a huge smile on my face.

Sorry, not sorry to all you youths that voted for Socks the Groper. The welfare well is about to run dry.

    Enjoy the decline! šŸ˜‰

    1. What I want to know is when Doug Ford or Max Bernier will be recognized by Washington as the head of the rightful government of Canada.

  10. Look closely at the candidates for the Democrat Presidential primary competition. Those that didn’t sign onto this cartoon of a Green Deal have moles in the other campaigns who convinced 4 to 5 of the candidates to sign onto the farce. Conventional wisdom is that it is one of 3 people (Biden, Kerry, or Clinton…with an outside chance it was Bloomberg).

Whoever it is pulling these little manipulative strings and sabotaging candidates early, also, had a hand in the release of Warren’s Texas Bar Association application.

Bet on Hillary and her reputation assassination machine.

    1. I remember when the uppity “Magic Negro” run against Hitlery, yet everyone on the right was asking McCain (R-TV) “How can we stop the bitch?” Moral of the story: fear the commies of Occasional Kotex variety, they have much more support among the lobotomized electorate than we are willing to be believe they have.

    1. Yep…”New Green Deal” and “Green Shift” basically means they’re gonna be shifting green out of your pockets and into their grubby little hands. Then they’re gonna use it to buy goodwill for themselves.

  11. The only thing saving the US from Cortez is that she’s not old enough yet. Once she is she’ll be president. Count on it. Think about Obama. Now think about Obama again. It’s going to happen and everyone knows it. Start your preparations now.

  12. I suggest that in political debates, those opposed to carbon taxes turn back the crazy arguments on their proponents. They say that climate change is disrupting the arctic weather patterns and sending the polar vortex down south so in that way they can greensplain how winters are staying cold. But if the objective of the carbon taxes is to return the climate to the colder base line, when presumably the polar vortex was naturally coming south more frequently (according to their own logic), then what’s the problem? Nature is just fixing its own problem. Either way, we’ll get cold winters. So why would a rational person want to pay a tax to accomplish what will happen naturally anyway? Problem is, they may have to admit they were lying about the polar vortex.

The only way this can be resolved is for actual scientists to speak out, otherwise the more gullible portion of the general public can probably be herded along and forced to pay these unnecessary taxes. But not only does climate change explain (sorry, greensplain) everything, it also automatically defines its critics to be non-persons. This is also partially believed by many of the general public, the old hoary myth of the skeptics bought and paid for by oil companies.

The voters will have to protect their economic interests. No point in voting for the CPC, they will go along to get along, and in any case it is our provincial governments that we really need to pressure for change, they control hydro rates and can levy carbon taxes. But voting for the Bernier party seems like the only way to register dissent with the climate fraud agenda.

  13. Shoulda never given women ‘da’ vote! (and some “B” type men!)

Ann Coulter is correct. The world would be Conservative. We could then get on with real life.

Remember Stephan Dion, re: the Green Movement:
“We gonna make da moneee wid it!” Canada now is as foolish as this loopy pancake! HRH has forced us to drink the cool-aid.

    Banana Republic.

  14. The comments on Buttzy Boys (BB) Twitter are funny, lots of sarcasm.
    I wonder why.
I do not twitter, but if some one here does, could you consider trolling BB site with a question as to how he intends to have Justine deal with the Coal Veins burning unchecked,in Canada’s Arctic?
Such savage pointless pollution burning unchecked for over 200 years.
Such an evil waste of fossil fuels and a federal government responsibility to boot.
on the other hand, the longer this ideologue controls the Heir Apparent the more certain an Independent Western Nation becomes.
Think how corrupt and spinelessly pathetic the federal Liberals have to be, to keep this Wormtongue at the heart of their power.

Now in my world coal veins burning is perfectly normal and releases needed CO2.
However if the parasites fossil fuel burning must end,I offer only the best supression methods ;dump lawyers and politicians into the pit until the fire goes out.
    A sure fire solution.

  15. The “Green New Deal” and AOC are the the vanguard of a great slight of hand. I am sure that somewhere there is a concise term for this concept but what I mean is that if you want to convince people that they have to eat a full serving bullshit, threaten them with the prospect of being forced eat a full serving of elephant shit. Many will opt for eating the bullshit and be relieved, while being totally distracted from the obvious choice that they don’t have to eat shit at all.
Keeping on the agro-fecal theme, lets keep a chicken shit approach which is not force-fed but depends on future adaptation to any non-normal negative effects that may eventually and actually occur.

  16. Justin occassional-cortex is the soc-puppet of the Gerald Butts, the real WWF payed runner of Canada.
