Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

LOLOL

Following last Saturday’s (Jan 19) Telegraph magazine cover story “The mystery of Melania”, we have been asked to make clear that the article contained a number of false statements which we accept should not have been published. Mrs Trump’s father was not a fearsome presence and did not control the family. Mrs Trump did not leave her Design and Architecture course at University relating to the completion of an exam, as alleged in the article, but rather because she wanted to pursue a successful career as a professional model. Mrs Trump was not struggling in her modelling career before she met Mr Trump, and she did not advance in her career due to the assistance of Mr Trump.

We accept that Mrs Trump was a successful professional model in her own right before she met her husband and obtained her own modelling work without his assistance. Mrs Trump met Mr Trump in 1998, not in 1996 as stated in the article. The article also wrongly claimed that Mrs Trump’s mother, father and sister relocated to New York in 2005 to live in buildings owned by Mr Trump. They did not. The claim that Mrs Trump cried on election night is also false.

We apologise unreservedly to The First Lady and her family for any embarrassment caused by our publication of these allegations. As a mark of our regret we have agreed to pay Mrs Trump substantial damages as well as her legal costs.

  1. They’re not sorry they wrote rubbish about her. They’re sorry that they got caught.

      1. No….the apology should be front page. Larger than the original article. Double font size. The lie needs to be stomped out.

    1. Worse than that … they DOUBLED DOWN on their LIES:

As a mark of our regret we have agreed to pay Mrs Trump substantial damages as well as her legal costs.

Hahahah ha ha ha … “as a mark of their regret”? No. It’s called a LAWSUIT … or threat of a LAWSUIT … which is SURE to be successful. MO-rons… I sincerely hope this settlement causes the paper to layoff 1,000 employees. Socialist Fkcus!!! TDS Fkcus!!!

    1. How ironic is it that when I clicked on the Telegraph link, they first asked me to subscribe (which I didn’t) and then asked me to turn off my ad blocker (which I declined), so they could monetize their lies? I guess they need the money to pay Mrs. Trump.

I wouldn’t use the Telegraph (or the NYT, Guardian, or Washington Post) to wipe my backside.

      1. SCC, exactly, their self righteous smugness makes them think they are untouchable, till they get bitchslapped . They are that disconnected from reality.

  2. In the settlement she should have insisted on starting with:

“The Telegraph is publisher of fake news which has been legally forced to make the following retraction.”

    1. Better yet, publish full names, addresses, phone numbers, social media accounts and colour photos of the persons responsible.

  3. The MSM are slow learners. No matter what negatives they report on Trump or his wife they turn out to be fake.

    1. That is the whole point.

Even if they issue a retraction, the damage is done which is what they want.

This is why when these news agencies go under and people lose their jobs, you should not feel badly for them.

      1. It isn’t whether one wins or loses such disputes. The objective is to be the one who flings mud first and hits the intended target.

The result of that is a gift that keeps on giving. Seeds of doubt about someone’s character and integrity would have been planted and they will remain. Even if one is exonerated of a certain misdeed, the memory of the allegation or slander will stay with people and won’t be readily erased.

        1. Your wrote:

“Even if one is exonerated of a certain misdeed, the memory of the allegation or slander will stay with people and won’t be readily erased.”

          Exactly.

There is a warm feeling when these professional liars lose their paid lying positions.

  4. Lying liars gonna lie. I do not believe a singe word uttered by the MSM including if, but, and the.

  5. Wow, not just one or two errors but completely rife with lies. And The Telegraph is supposedly a newspaper on the right side of the spectrum!

  6. But meanwhile all the news services that promulgated the story will not carry the apology. Everyone will remember the story and not the apology or settlement.

SJW’s the world over will have this story to refer to as part of their TDS syndrome. It will now be gospel to the writhing masses of basement dwellers and MSM NPC’s.

Wonder who is kicking in the money for the settlement? The same that funded the story?

Looks like a win for the Democrats and the New World Order at a reasonable cost.

  7. People I have met that are liberals don’t care about apologies, facts or personal attacks. They blindly hate Trump and, as this lady I spoke to yesterday, will always, always vote Liberal. Our new mayor in Burlington, Marianne Meed Ward used to write a column in the Toronto Sun and we exchanged several emails but when she wrote me that she would always take the Liberal side I stopped writing her as what would be the point I told her.

    1. I exchanged a few emails with her back in the Sun days. I guess we can see what unthinking liberal loyalty will do for a person nowadays.

  8. jeezuz murphy. did they get anything right?
nope. got it all on the *left* though, lol!!!

my skepticism metre really pushing against the stop pin these days.

  9. I have a number of always vote liberal people I know as well. They have their whole lives, which is usually good for about 40-60 years of eligible voting.

I ask them “what kind of Liberal are you”?

    Usually get a blank stare.

So I ask them to define Large L liberalism.
I ask are you a Pearsonian Liberal, a PET Lib, a chretienite, a Martinite or a Justinite?
Because they are all different ideologies.

Pearson would be an extreme right winger today.

Chretien is a homophobe, after all he had three majorities and did not pass legislation legalizing gay marriage.

PET severely curtailed freedoms when he introduced the war measures act.

But your average LIV loves being a Liberal because of the cloak of moral and intellectual superiority that comes with. According tobwhat their TV tells them anyway.

    1. And they don’t realize being liberal is no longer good enough to keep the progressive mob away, particularly if they’re white and middle class. One wrong attitude and they’ll be considered right wing extremists…

    2. Too bad you can’t just refer them to Hayek or Rothbard, because they separate the liberal wheat from the collectivist chaff.

I know a tough read, but very interesting, especially Hayek’s stark 1944 warning that those defeating socialist tyranny had plenty of its faults and conceits.

Waiting for history to repeat itself on that front, because one is fat and happy, for now, is not a good idea imho.

  10. I didn’t see the bit about them firing the “reporter”, nor their intention to sue whoever provided that false information.

    What are they waiting for?

  11. “We apologise unreservedly to The First Lady and her family for any embarrassment caused by our publication of these allegations. As a mark of our regret we have agreed to pay Mrs Trump substantial damages as well as her legal costs.”

This is my favourite part of the article. I predict the MSM in North America will ignore this, and when and to whom, that the First Lady will donate it to. How often does the American MSM even use that term to refer to her?

    1. It reminds me of the scene in “A Fish Called Wanda” where John Cleese is forced to apologize while he is dangled outside a window upside down by his ankles.

  12. Melania made those libs her bitches. Nice!

Even more important is that the cloak of integrity, impartiality and honesty is being removed from the media. The far left will always believe CNN, CBC etc, but there is a growing number of centrists that are starting to understand just how badly they have had the wool pulled over their eyes by these “journalists” for years.

  13. Courts of law now agree with President Trump: fake news is real, malicious and directed at President Trump.

  14. The link to this rather longish, but in my view extremely interesting article by William Kay (2016) about young PET, as perverse a Liberal snake as was ever known, is very revealing. It fully supports the notion that the Liberals pillage the West and should be an inspiration to those who seek an alternative.

  15. Is it my imagination, or are the walls closing in on the leftist collectivism ignorantia and their shell game with reality?

  16. Another case of Relotius Syndrome. Is it spreading or was it always already there…?
But it might be a case of something else, too
there is a lot of mental illness going around.

  17. She thinks she is so good strutting around in her high heel stilettos.
    I hate her!!
You don’t see Whoopi Goldberg walking around in stiletto heels!

    1. My maximum is three inches high, net. So, four inch heel with one inch platform as an example. Running up and down the stairs getting to back to back to back meetings, one must be stable on one’s pins. Watching the First Lady elegantly navigate grass, cobblestone and dirt tracks in those dainty stilettos is very impressive from my point of view.
Trump wasn’t my guy early on because he’s always been a NY Democrat, and he cast broad aspersion on Republicans while “W” was in office. I also wasn’t sure about a foreign-born fashion model as FLOTUS. It ended up being a heck of a lot easier to vote for Trump than it had been for McCain, and the First Lady has been the epitome of class and restraint.

Melania Trump modeled in US prior to getting work visa

WASHINGTON (AP) — Melania Trump was paid for 10 modeling jobs in the United States worth $20,056 that occurred in the seven weeks before she had legal permission to work in the country, according to detailed accounting ledgers, contracts and related documents from 20 years ago provided to The Associated Press.

The details of Mrs. Trump’s early paid modeling work in the U.S. emerged in the final days of a bitter presidential campaign in which her husband, Donald Trump, has taken a hard line on immigration laws and those who violate them. Trump has proposed broader use of the government’s E-verify system allowing employers to check whether job applicants are authorized to work. He has noted that federal law prohibits illegally paying immigrants.
