  1. “It is a dictatorship not socialism” read the banner carried by protesting Venezuelans last summer. Let them hunt each other’s children for food. They voted to take from the rich. The voted for communism. Now they run out of other people’s money. Good. Let the purge begin. They deserve every rape and murder. Yes I pity those few who opposed communism, but overall this is just another turd world shithole getting what it deserves.

Just don’t let any of them into civilized world.

    1. I would totally agree except for the probability that the people that opposed the communists are probably suffering more than those that voted for it. It was that way in Russia in the 1920s.

      1. True. And if they can be identified they should be given asylum. But most asked for it. So let them have it. Long and hard.

    2. Too late … they’ve already flooded America with leftist voters. 50% of the voters in America now vote the straight Communist ticket.

    3. “It is a dictatorship not socialism” read the banner

It’s not an either/or thing. More like “Socialism is dictatorship”.

      1. Yes, if you do not see a difference between Caracas and Moronto perhaps you should visit there?

Nice attempt to pimp an unrelated post on your blog.

    1. oh ya.
ms ‘einen kleinen nachtmusik’ (apologies to Mozart)
is NOWHERE to be found and completely silent now.
3 times I left a msg on this t*at’s web site requesting a statement on venezuela, got the same scripted response each time: “doing research” on her next book, er tome.

      see for yerself.

  2. They gave up their guns. Now the only people with guns are the criminals, the Chavista Collectivos and the corrupt police and army. Now you know why Americans will never give up their guns. A revolution will not be as destructive as a government like this.

The smart ones fled years ago. The rest are still fleeing if they can. No, we shouldn’t try to rescue them from themselves. They hate the gringo already, and trying to fix their mess will only make them hate us more.

  3. We will never see real socialism fail, because real socialism can not exist. Marx built the whole theory based on an assumption that could not understand the difference between cost and value. May have been an easy mistake to make in a true free market (that disappears as soon as you move towards socialism). Every concept derived from the labour theory of value is fundamentally flawed and should be discarded. Any institution still teaching it should be discredited and lose funding as they are not serious academic or educational institutions.

    1. IIRC one of the principles of Marx that doesn’t usually get mentioned is that he was quite happy to live on the money Engels “borrowed” from that family firm

      1. that dude one of the Marx brothers?
anyway, I read a loooong time ago the view that Marx took so long writing his works because . . . .
he needed an excuse to sit in the library in London England (a hot bed of socialism to this day)
        in order to . . . . to . . . . . keep warm in winter.

  4. My suggestion is don’t go. If you are trapped in such a country get the hell out any way you can. If you can’t get out then start fighting. ————————-six freaking captcha screens the damn thing is broken.

  5. “….the country has been suffering from a slow collapse since 2015 when oil prices dropped. ”

Man, he gets off to quite a start. Nothing like a mixing good dollop of understatement into your revisionism.

However, today’s Sesame Street was brought to you by the letter B.

    1. Understatement is right. The collapse started when the Venezuelans voted for Chavez and socialism.

  6. December 18th Guardian article… https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2018/dec/18/the-fallen-metropolis-the-collapse-of-caracas-the-jewel-of-latin-america?fbclid=IwAR2j1M207uqqEsBo95aD7p8bhkZAyud8maKmksQgvL1H9C6lLVpVIkRHL-E

Note what the Guardian does here…“This populism – this so-called socialism – has finished off our country,”

So, Venezuela wasn’t real socialism just “so-called socialism”, the problem that destroyed the country is “populism”…

    The mind boggles…

    1. Chavez sure looked popular with that populace when he was getting going. Like a Trudeau, or a Castreau.

  7. What Mike Monahan writes about the recent experience of the daily lives of Venezuelans could have been dated in the 1920s in the Soviet Union. The only difference was that by the mid 1920s the visible street criminal activities were eliminated in the Soviet Union and the government’s crimes governed ones daily life.

  8. When the socialists run out of other people’s money and they come for yours you show them your most precious metal – lead; and give it to them with overwhelming enthusiasm..

  9. The author is an idiot. What did he expect in a commie $h!t h@le ?
His ten rules are for capitulation and slavery.
10 better rules: Ammo, ball, FMJ, tracer, hollow point, soft point, rim fire, AP, more ammo
and maybe a selection of Zombie Tools(TM).

  10. OK, let us see now.

While going to school in a socialist country run by communists, we were of course taught on the progress of civilization.
From feudal to industrial capitalism, then the ever happy socialism and final stage the glorious communism for all times.
You may not actually believe this since it is unbelievable though that was the way it was.

As, those that are interested in the affairs of men, know, the glorious socialist governments where ever and when ever tried, for some devious capitalist reason collapsed. The socialism collapsed every bloody time it was tried.
You have the young people today and many not so young that think that they can do better socialism.

How does it escape, even those that went to school for a long time and those many that never actually got out of school, how is it that they insist that they will make it better with undeniable evidence to the contrary.
The thing is that socialism and communism is a religion without a deity. It could be said that Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao and few other such, are sort of saints of the socialists and communists. Like the Greek gods. The difference of course was that he gods did not go around killing people, did not have mobs to do mayhem on the population. Maybe a few died.

So pray tell, how can one bring this forward so it become at least known how the socialism is the final solution to the civilization. It is its end.
Would the media cartel write anything of this sort? Would a politician in parliament bring this up and parliament condemn it?

With the politicians of today the best you can expect is delay, Canada is well suited to follow Venezuela. Yeah, Canadians really, really like “free” stuff. Politicians of every stripe, make no mistake about that, will supply the “free” stuff if they have to borrow and make the next generation pay for it, of course, it can never, ever be paid off, hence the collapse.
Don’t know about the other provinces, Albertans though are force fed one and a half million dollars. This is Liberal fascist scam. There is no doubt that some will take it.
What Alberta need is not “help”, not favours, no free stuff, no warm and fuzzy feeling, what Alberta needs is a pipeline and the governments of all levels to get out of the damn way.
Alberta enterprise will build the pipeline, they don’t need federal bureaucracy helping or telling them what to do.
People nonetheless want the “free” stuff.
    End of story.

PS if you find contradictions it is due to the fact that one cannot write a whole book here to ‘splain.

    1. Well said Lev. I guess they will have to learn the hard way. However I am too old to relocate. My children will have to, as one of lines in the movie Dr. Zhivago says, “Adapt yourself”.

      1. Ken,
you don’t need to relocate. Change one mind at a time, change ten minds, the ten will change ten minds each and so on and so on.
Look at first 5 minutes of this, it is likely that you have seen it.

Admiral McRaven addresses the University of Texas at Austin Class of 2014
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaQZFhrW0fU

If you have not, it is worth while to see it.
It turned out that he helped and voted for Clinton.
Well, one can suppose that nobody is perfect.

        1. Thank you. Yes, I have seen this before. I have been trying for decades to warn people of where we are going, but mostly I get that vacant stare as if I’m nuts.

So now we are at the point where we have a bought and paid for media that not only ignores the actions of the most inept prime minister and government in Canada’s history but gushes over every inane utterance of his; and as well, a university system that no longer advances classical liberal freedoms and freedom of speech, but in fact squelches freedom through Troika tribunals.

The Bolsheviks implemented their program in great haste, the Frankfurt School is implementing their program meticulously one little bit at a time.

Either way, the omelette comes from a broken egg.

          1. Of course I understand what you’re saying.
What is happening with the media cartel and their political masters is your basic transition into totalitarianism.

You will notice today in north American press, they will pick any nuance, they will pick one word of a thousand and will destroy the person that said it. In not too distant past the nuance or the word was just that, you ponder it or not, most likely you just let it ride as a part of a conversation never considering anything sinister,. today it is possibly a fatal sin in the media cartel/political complex.
That is why the political class bought the press.
I’ve been there, I’ve seen this before some 50 years ago.
Its almost like the phrase goes Deja vu, a bad dream from another time.
Tragedy in this is that nobody believes that.

Now, just watch how things will go down and down. The “social justice”, the “human rights” tribunals will have a field day getting bigger and bigger to catch every damn phrase that they don’t like.
Those that never worked a solid day of work in their miserable lives will judge those that get up every morning to go to work to make a living for themselves and their families and will tell them what they can and what the can’t say.
It is coming, there is no doubt about it.
There is not one politician in this country that will stop it. Scheer? Are you kidding me? He just want to be a prime minister, full stop.
Ford is close, though he will submit or he will be eliminated, just watch.
Trump in the states is doing his best what ever his behaviour otherwise. He is a New York street fighter though one suspects that they will file the rough edges and he will submit.

  11. The guy makes some good points. These are good things to pay attention to in your daily life. I always pause and look around my surroundings. Try and see what’s going on before I get out of my truck in a parking lot – just little things like that. Take that extra look. If things dont look right….dont go there.

If things turn to anarchy the game changes. Violence becomes commonplace and protecting yourself from harm – survival is paramount. You have to be prepared to do whatever it takes if people are going to kill you.

    1. Yeah,
I’m not from Romania, from another socialist paradise that went puff after the killings.
      Know the story first hand.
There is not one error in the tweets.
That was the reality of the glorious socialism.
      Ooooo……..yeah !!!!!

Just how many fire hydrants do they have in captcha.

      1. I am from another communist paradise too. Those gifts would have been welcomed back in the day. Other than the “meat” – we knew some local farmers so we were not as desperate … most of the time anyway.

  12. The article about traveling to Venezuela to see his brother is fiction. We all know enough that you would not take bolivars into the country, US $ yes. As for food we also all know that it would be confiscated. Food is confiscated if you bring it into Canada. This article is quite unbelievable.

    1. ? ? ? There are all sorts of foods you can bring into Canada. There are also certain types of foods (mainly unprocessed agricultural products) that you can’t bring into Canada.
