  1. Yes. The Last Refuge really has the best coverage on this. I send everybody over there who is interested in what is really happening on trade.

    1. From Day 1, Sundance was ridiculing the Canadian negotiating “strategy” — claiming they were not serious. They were not. Bizarrely, I think the Trudeau government believes that it can just foster trade with the rest of the world and all will be ok. It will not be ok. I think the philosophy among Liberals is to try to take the US down a peg or two. They will fail, and Canadians will pay the price. Scheer needs to ensure that Canadians understand what is at stake and the damage to the economy that is a direct result of the foolishess of our own government.

      1. Like all leftists everywhere, he was not supposed to win and they were not prepared. Also, they still do not take him seriously but he is doing what he said he would. I think now the Liberals are hoping to win an anti-Trump election for which they need Canadians to suffer and it be blamed on Trump. I trust Sheer will be wise to this stratagem.

        1. “Like all leftists everywhere, he was not supposed to win and they were not prepared.”

Or, alternatively, he was supposed to be PM with a Clinton administration for a southern neighbour.

Oh, dear. That didn’t quite happen, did it?

    2. It’s probably the dumbest site on the net. They think Canada produces no steel or aluminum

      1. We’ve had this discussion before. Remelting existing steel isn’t production. Converting rust (aka “iron ore”) into Steel is production. And you can’t do that without coking coal. Canada is not a large-scale user of coking coal, therefore we don’t produce steel.

  2. Well well I am not surprised.

And rememeber that Verheul gets his marching orders from Freeland and our Juvenile in Chief.

What a gong show. Cannot wait to see the Libs gone. Just cannot wait.

    1. “Cannot wait to see the Libs gone. Just cannot wait” Yes, me too, but there are a bunch of stooges out there who do not comprehend the damage that is being done and who continue to support them.

    2. Freeland in that purple dress looks like Barney the dinosaur took a dump and out came Christa. Does anybody else get the impression that Justard, Heinrich Himmler Butts and Barney’s poop want this deal to fail…? could it be that the Libranos have been sabotaging this deal from the start hoping for its failure? The obtuse attitude of Barney”s poop and crazy Justard suggests to me that they’d be quite happy to see this deal fail.

  3. Canada has become that fictional nation in Swift’s “Gulliver’s Travels ” Lilliput.
Our government betters deem us to be a significant player in the world but our closest neighbor which could take us over in an hour or less had had the decency to let us retain some honour.
We rode the coat tails of our contribution to the two world wars but have since left it to the US to subsidize our responsibilities militarily which allows us the fiscal room to provide the tax funded benefits the socialists say define us as canadians.
Trump is pulling back the curtain and they fear the outcome.
If the world comes to the admission that we have not the capacity nor the will to protect and defend our borders then we will have no legal authority to argue against the US declaring a security interest in taking control of the Arctic Sea on the North American side.
Juthtin hasn’t got a clue and his team has only considered one outcome for one issue.
They are absolutely Lilliputian lead by a totem of pretension.

  4. This is what happens when you have a grade school level cabinet made up of immature ideologues and a couple of yes men has beens (thinking of you Ralph) whose only aim for Canadian population is the foisting on it of socially destructive identity policies. Who needs international trade, domestic resource development and industrial production when you can have 37 million people live on pixie dust and unicorn farts.

  5. What the spud did was deadly.. Every American negotiator must Trust that those they are dealing with are competent…..Can it be fixed? Not by a incompetent liberal Government!

Freeland made a celebrated (Camera crew) visit to her Senator Friend in DC….Corker promptly went to the Senate Floor & the Stink was such that he was shown the door….Crying how the Senate was acting like a Cult & poking the bear was barred….Corker knows he is not going to be welcomed back except for votes…..The last person (from My memory) that disgraced the Congressional process and was shown the door was Al Gore,(By a Democrat Super Majority) he has never been invited back (selling influence & bragging has consequences)

Freeland is doubling down & now going directly to all her Friends @ the State level…..Good luck.. Why not go to Hillary?

    JMHO

  6. Robert of Ottawa @ 8:30 today on Tips:
    Says ” snap election “…
I know if a budget is an issue when presented in a Minority Gov situation, this could happen. While a Trade breakdown with our largest trading partner is in fact about the regular folks’ money, can the MPs be called back over this issue? What is the rule here? I cannot see Trudeau going to the G.G. now and asking her to dissolve Parliament. You? What is protocol?

    Mr Trudeau:
“Er MADAM Govenor General, we’ve been bad Peoplekind and we need to spend more money, this time on a campaign. David Axelrod and his American voters are free now and mightn’t be free to help us with the election next year. So can ya sign this paper right here, now? We’ll be off to the races now! Mercy buckets er rather, merci beaucoup. Et voilà.” Zooooom!

    1. An Anti-Trump election. Im not suggesting it will happen or is winnable but it is the sort of stunt the Liberals love to pull.

      1. Yes under Jean they pulled their snap election stunts. They have a majority now so I doubt they will trouble themselves and give up a whole year of power, besides it has to over a lack of support for their budget. Taxpayer be damned.

  7. Freeland has poked and poked and poked at Trump. She acts like a sociopath with borderline personality disorder who can’t control her passive aggressive behaviour. She resorts to the false narrative spun around Justine’s lie to CNN that Trump was angry about Canadians having burned down the White House. In a NY Times interview published during the G7 summit she compares Trump to Hitler and Trump voters to Hitler supporters.
A few days later she meets with Corker & Co. and engages in more Trump bashing. Same day she gives a speech at her “Diplomat of the Year award” and she infers Trump lacks integrity & that he is incompetent and dishonest.

Finally Honey Badger Ross put a stake in that fake narrative that’s soooooooooooooooo insulting to Canadians who fought in the trenches… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0D4WjRJ4Bw

    1. Madam Freeland thinks she’s an American, just because she lived there. She’s a Canadian and a Member of Parliament. She is frankly, a disaster. Who does that? Shooting off her mouth in the States. You’d think she was campaigning for the Democrats.

(Yes, Christia we mind, you no longer are acting in the capacity as a journalist. Stick to your own knitting. Better still, get out at the next election before we owe you a big fat pension.)

      1. LAST REFUGE is Anti-Globalist. Period.

Chrissy’s hubby works for NY Times and she spends time with the NY in crowd….and caught a case of TDS.

She’s a globalist of the left leaning variety a la Soros vs the right leaning types. The Neo-cons switched over from the GOP to Clinton in 2016. Still is a rump bunch of Rhinos & chamber of commerce types among the GOP. They’ll get weeded out.

Trump is a nationalist supported by the great unwashed and threat to both teams of globalists. And so Chrissy says Trump is a threat to the world order i.e., the IMF, WB, WTO, & UN and compares him to Hitler who must be stopped if we are to save freedom and democracy & Canadians can do their part by voting Liberal this summer.

  8. I don’t feel confident.
    Do you feel confident?
Nope, I’m not feeling at all confident. How about you?
No, no I’m afraid I have zero confidence at this point. Does any one else want to weigh in on this?
Well… I’m not confident. Ordinarily I wouldn’t say anything; but since you asked… No, not at all.
Me too. But I’ve felt that way for a long time; not confident that is.
Does anyone here have confidence in the Trudeau government?
    Anyone?
    Anyone?

    (Hint-Hint)

    1. Yes,I have great confidence in the Trudeau government. I am very confident that no mater what the issue, this government will screw it up. Trudeau has failed in all important trade negotiations due to his diversity and gender equality BS, and his team’s ineptitude as negotiators. Chrystia Freeland is another journalist who believes her own PR, only a fool would have appointed her Minister of Trade.

The LPC may very well try to pull off an early election as Chretien did so often, but they may be overestimating Trudeau’s popularity and mistaking the Canada versus Trump issue for voter’s confidence in Trudeau, which is pretty low right now.

Btw,the CPC leader is Andrew SCHEER. The LPC intends to run an Andrew Sheer against him in his Riding to confuse the voters. They may also run an Andrew Shear,if they can find him.

  9. Gee I guess it was important there not be any members of the Sarah Sanders Party who were Gay. Whoops no it wasn’t a wedding cake it was Restaurant people who were Gay.
Similar double standard in Canada. Citizens of R.O.C. -Rest Of Canada – are treated as second class citizens.

Just an attempt to show all of North America can be feckled victims through the brokerage politics of the Socialist/islamic feckless Administartion by the Liberal & Democrat -[NDP} Governments.

  10. I love that photo of our ‘team’ marching down the street led by goose stepping chrystia.
Put a uniform on her and a set of jack boots….whoa – now that’s an image

    1. I think that pic reminds me of an ugly mother goose leading her empty headed goslings. But I can add jack boots. Uniform? Have to let the pants out.

    2. Freeland looks like Barney the dinosaur took a dump. Purple is also the colour of the George Soros revolution.

  11. Has anyone met a Liberal voter that was able to justify their vote for these clowns? All I’ve ever heard was “Harper was a fascist.” (The left’s fall back argument when bigot doesn’t fit)

The current and future state of Canada’s economy should come as a shock to nobody…save those that voted Liberal.

I only hope this hurts those that did this to the country first.

      1. I don’t. He sucked. He loved spying and jailing people for non-crimes. He ran a terrible campaign that he should not have been even running in. Steve sucked.

        1. Nobody spies more than lieberals or lies about it more. Obummer took it to the next level not to mention extrajudicial killings. The natural governing party of Canadistan loves power like you love illegal immigrants and they will do or screw anything to maintain it. Steve was far from perfect but compared to The Adulterer of K-Bec, a thousand times better.

          1. “BUt Obummber LIBERALS” -Eff off. Stop trying to pull that diversion BS. If Steve were in power we wouldn’t be getting legal weed or increased immigration, both of which are big steps for freedom.

          2. Sure you can now smoke a government distributed joint, watch your neighborhood turn into a turd world shithole while you are playing a lottery hoping that government goons will issue you an authorization to transport your firearm instead of arbitrarily prohibit it. Yay so much freedom.

    1. Now, to be fair, I did ALSO hear “Harper is scary”….credit where credit’s due……aaaaarghh.

  12. The funniest thing about this “whoopsie” is that Freeland terminated the meeting quickly in French. A US-Canada trade negotiation meeting terminated in French. The people in the room were probably wondering WTF? (what-the-french).

    1. And the US has people whose job it is is to keep the POTUS informed on specific issues.
There was most likely a note made of that and its likely gotten to the cabinet level where the question was likely asked “I wonder why she did that and is she trying to hide something?”
Obvious answer is yes she was and what is it and from whom?
The what is that Freeland has not had any negotiating going on, and if she hasn’t then why has been making the pretense of such and if not negotiating then what has she been meeting “top congressional and senate” members for?
Not negotiating, no progress, but lots of meetings at our expense.
Its like issuing government contracts for little to no value……

      1. “Not negotiating, no progress, but lots of meetings at our expense”
Yes and look at the people she’s meeting with; politicians who have no power or influence with Mr Trump or people who are working against him.
How is that helping Canada and our trade problems?

  13. Good comments here.

One thing that is now very apparent with the Juvenile’s cabinet is that they all have highly inflated opinions of their actual worth. This includes Freeland, it especially includes Climate Barbie, and it even includes shady characters like Morneau.

It arises out of the usual Liberal entitlement and arrogance. “I am a Liberal and therefore I am great.”

In short they are horrible people.

And their boss is just as bad.

    1. “In short they are horrible people.” yes they are… it doesn’t help that the Media praise these morons at every turn, no matter what. Remember, the Media referred to all these Libranos like Freeland as “star candidates”… classic case of believing their own bullshit.

    2. “And their boss is just as bad”
I have no doubt that this is true, but who is their boss?

    1. “Most Canadians I know are great people. I am sure that they’ll get rid of this dangerous fool Trudeau, ASAP.

      “They had better.”

Yes, we had better. Or Trump will send in the Marines to do it for us.

That is reality. The Western Hemisphere is the sphere of influence of the United States. The US government has the right and duty of removing, promptly and without apology, all governments in the Western Hemisphere who pose a meaningful threat to the national security of the United States.

If Justin had the sense God gave granite he’d understand that Trump could overthrow him in less than 24 hours. That might have made him think twice before doing Beijing’s dirty work.

      1. Thanks for the nutcase take on the situation. We’ll be sure to come back to you whenever we need a sort of positive control for insanity.

  14. But there is the Pride Parades and there was the end of Ramadan festivities to attend to.

  15. Well, why would they negotiate in good faith with Donald Trump?

The Libranos see him as an enemy to be driven from power at any cost, lest he send troops north to put a stop to China’s plans to put a satellite state on the northern border of the United States and put the family out of business for good.

That goes double for Chrystia, who is convinced Trump is a stooge of the Elders of Zion—which is only true to the extent Trump is the best friend the Jewish people have had in DC since 1948—and must be defeated if there is to be any chance of fulfilling her grandfather’s dream of exterminating the Jews.

This is truly an existential crisis—for her anyway. Chrystia’s retirement plans do not include dying in a Russian or Israeli prison.

  16. Now can we have an adult for Prime Minister? You know, like all those other countries out there have?

  17. Steve Verheul is the only adult in the room but he’s only as good as what he has to work with, which isn’t much with this current Liberal government…..

  18. Why fly to Venezuela when you can bring Venezuela to Canada?!

    Trust me, it’s coming.

    1. Just an fyi
The $upporters of the liberal party are patiently waiting for the payoff of the government marijuana cartel (aka legalized pot) to begin as they where assured of….with the government taking its mandatory cut.
If this market fails to materialize its game over for jr. He was able to convince enough of the monied supporters that there was a new market just on the horizon for them to take advantage of.
This may be the basis of the early election talk from liberal mouth pieces. The true estimates may be saying a different story and if its bad all the “legal pot” voters may be in for a disappointment and those that invested in same may not realize the profit they where expecting operating in the “legal” market.
The liberals are screwed, this is 2006 redux.

      1. I’m not sure there will be a weed payoff. The marketplace is already being served and if government weed is not up to the quality on the street (and why would it be?) users are just going to stay where they are.

The next issue is price. Just because some bureaucrat says weed is going to cost 7,8 or $10 doesn’t mean it will. There is a marketplace right now that isn’t going away. The street knows what weed is worth. Supply and demand dictate the price….. not a government employee.

The medicinal value of pot is largely anecdotal. Sure you forget about your sore knee after a toke but does weed have any redeeming medicinal properties? Few serious studies have ever been undertaken because the product has been illegal. Big pharma has not expended any long term dollars on studies that can take decades.

So where is the payoff going to come from?

        1. Its really, Really laughable.
Industry must pay hydro, wages, payroll, commercial property and income taxes AND most importantly to investors… PROFITS
          Vs.
Stolen hydro (esp in BC), experienced Mom & Pop operations with existing supply routes and Mgmt. and NO REQUIREMENT TO PAY ANY TAXES.
Who can afford to cut prices? The government sanctioned industry players or the Mom & Pop basement grow ops that are already paid for?
Now that its legal what’s the worst penalty that these criminals could get? Tax evasion?

        2. Irony is that if the user is caught with the non sanctioned marijuana they will be charged with possession of contraband. Which if I recall carries a criminal charge.
Remind me again why they wanted to legalize the weed?

        3. “why would it be?”

Because it’s legal and increased quality and better overall customer experience is the experience of every jurisdiction that has legalized. You and Joeseph are fantasizing.

“The medicinal value of pot is largely anecdotal. ”

Repeating this ad nauseam does not make it true.

          1. The existing basement growers are producing the benchmark weed of today. The process has been refined for maximum black market profit.
” better overall customer experience is the experience ”
Of course. What a fool Ive been. Instead of going to Costco or Superstore Liquor for a $12 bottle of wine I should pay $19+ for the experience.
How many people deal with cash for home renovations??? Nobody likes to pay unnecessary tax and the red tape of inspectors.
How does a legit business compete with a grower that steals electricity and pays no tax.??? LOLLLLLL.
You Libtards should put down the bong. Its not doing you any favors.

  19. I had my kids translate what Freeland said en francis regarding the MOA.
“were going to talk about that later in an open discussion.”
No one in the media questioned her response.
Its more fun to blame Trump rather than say Mr Dressup laid and egg….
After the CBC National interview post G7 where the reporter said Trudeau had the win my blood boiled.
I despise the Libs, Butts and Turdeau 2 so much for not going for the win and instead playing Kabuki theatre with wedge politics under the pretence of Nationalism.
    They are Vile, Despicable, POS.

  20. While in a meeting in which the language of discussion is english, and knowing full well that 99% of the people you’re arguing with speak english as the language of business, then ending said meeting with a terse announcement in french, is an asshole move. She may as well of let go a long loud fart as ended it in french.

And her purple dress showing her power thighs while on the way to a meeting is laughable.

  21. “The Canadian economy is contracting”

Wrong. Canadian GDP growth is positive, albeit not as much as it should be. No surprise that the imbeciles at ‘Conservative Treehouse’ can’t be bothered to distinguish between jobs growth and GDP growth. Any credible news sources?

    1. “retailers recorded a 1.2 per cent sales drop in April” and “manufacturing sector lost 18,000 & construction fell 13,000” Business must be laying off cuz the economy is expanding. YEs processing all those UIC claims did add to Canada’s GDP. “Over the past three years, foreign direct investment in Canada has decreased by 54 per cent” and that was before NAFTA talks hit the rocks. Who’s going to invest in manufacturing here now? Trump is sitting back and laughing.

      1. Yes, and according to the most recent data, the Canadian GDP is still expanding. Not by very much, but it’s still expansion. Not contraction. Do you not understand how words work?

          1. Besides when prices of necessities like fuel, housing and food are going up faster than GDP per capita (that can grow exponentially with the growth of government expenditure) people are getting poorer.

        1. Imagine a man who weighs 130 lbs, who has a tapeworm that weighs 20 lbs. The scale says 150 lbs total. Fast-forward 1 year, the man now weighs 120 lbs, the tapeworm weighs 40 lbs. The scale says 160 lbs. You are arguing that the man has gained weight and must be healthier because the scale reads higher.

  22. Well, Canada is getting exactly what it voted for; good and hard.

The marxist cult members in the auto unions, would abandon the path they are on, if socialist thought allowed for reason. But we all know the answer to that one. But, feelings indicate that they will continue to imbibe of the Reverend Jones beverage.
