  1. Why wouldn’t they? ISIS is very careful to be technically correct in following the teachings of the Koran and ensuring Sharia is in place wherever it takes over. You’d have to have lost your head not to think this is the right way of doing things.

  3. These people follow the strong horse. Look how many followed Lawrence of Arabia. For all the grousing at the time, look how many followed Reagan and Thatcher. We’re losing this now because Obama doesn’t want to win.

  8. This was an on-line / web site poll. So it is not exactly a scientifically representative sample of muslims.
    The scary and outrageous part of this story: This was a poll of technically savvy muslims that have access to computers and the internet. These people are part of an urbanized population, and many of them live outside the mid-east. This was not a poll of the mythical ignorant muslim peasants living in tribal villages in the back of beyond.

  12. The Saudis have sewn the wind and are now reaping the whirlwind. There is nothing about that country that should appeal to Americans. They are the source of the Whabis (dating back to Kipling), they are a despotic monarchy (Do americans like or support absolute monarchies?) The people have not had to work much for the last 100 years, several generations, and they have no work ethic. The royal family finances ISIS style recruiting and training mosques all over this country. They do have petroleum resources, developed by the American oil companies. We would not have been beholding to them except our wall street, socialist, and environmental oligarcs wanted to keep our homegrown oil industry under absolute control. How many American oil companies do we have now? Almost all are foreign owned. British Petroleum, Royal Dutch Shell, Total….
    Let them defend themselves. It is the Sunis who are the bad ones, not the Shia.

  14. Iran is Shia. All those nice people shouting “death to America” every time Iran is on TV is shia. Sunni or Shia, they all hate everything the west stands for. Even the Kurds will go back to hating the west once their borders are secure, if ever. All Islam. All hate Christianity. As Colonialista says “No point in trying to pick up the turd by a clean end.”

  17. Considering how often rightwing nuts in this country overtake polls (often directed there by this very blog), maybe you should consider the possibility that the same thing happened here. Maybe you guys could all get together for coffee or something.

  18. Sorry John, the word nuts has long been the domain of left wingers and the gay movement. We never had a chance to use it unless in context to your usual fly-by troll comments, and of course, your other basement dwelling urban friends. Nuts has been hijacked much like the words gay, rainbow, marriage, morals, fudgepacker and many others.
