A Tale of Two Very Different Ottawa Police Departments

The police officers on the ground in Ottawa appear to be superb. But the leadership of the #OttawaPolice is an entirely different story:

Let the history books show that this and these people are the “menace” that the #OttawaPoliceChief #PeterSloly and the #OttawaCityCouncillor #DianaDeans want to crush.

  1. A few things.

First, the Freedom Convoy is no different than Canada Day in Ottawa. Same areas (mostly) are shut down. Crowds in July are larger, because it isnt -20C in July. From what I have seen, there are more incidents on Canada Day.

It would be very interesting if the Police Department produced statistics to that effect.

    1. I was in downtown Ottawa yesterday. The protest was crawling with local families. The streets were jammed with kids. It looked like a full Canada day crowd to me.

    2. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson comments on the convoy to CTV: “It’s disturbing when you see the protest turning into what looks like some kind of a fun carnival, where they’ve got bouncy castles, and hot tubs, and saunas”

Where’s the destruction and how dare it involves some fun and games?
Dirty bastards have made us look like idiots that we actually are!

      1. The fact that riff-raff can actually have fun is destructive to his sense of self-entitlement.

      2. How the people of Ottawa could have\ve elected this dimwit as mayor is astonishing, but then it is Ottawa where the majority rely on a government pay check

  2. Second, I think citizens of Ottawa should call their city counsellor. A consistent message should be sent of :
“Tell the Police Chief to De-escalate”

If ever there was a time to call, it is now.

    1. Third.

THERE IS NOTHING BOARDED UP IN DOWNTOWN OTTAWA.

When left wing protests occur, you will see plywood everywhere that Viva Frei (and others) have been walking. The businesses want to prevent destruction, and act accordingly. That this isn’t occurring right now shows you that there is nothing remotely violent about this protest.

  3. He’s a Good German The difference is it’s televised now.

    He’s just following orders.

  4. Whose side are the government lawyers on?
Are they simply tools of the State, or do they have some sort of moral and ethical compass?
Will they mindlessly support whatever government tyranny as ordered by the simpering fop in who is hiding in seclusion?
Will they weakly obey every order from the incompetent fool drama teacher?
Are they decent honest Canadians or just mindless levers to be used by Trudeau?
    Will they follow orders?

    1. The only time government lawyers opposed the government was to sue for pay raises and hour reductions.
One of the instigators of that action went into private practice shortly thereafter.

      1. Prinz Dummkopf must be a tool. After all, he’s dumber than a sack of hammers.

  5. I mentioned yesterday that the Ontario Police Act; Code of Conduct Regulations prohibits any member from actions that would undermine the integrity of the police.
Sloly is walking on some very thin ice here. He may want to dial back his rhetoric.

    1. Sloly operates from a very different world-view than we do. He needs to win, and has no moral guide that would give him caution, or wisdom to bring about a result that would be beneficial to the country. He only serves himself, and whoever pulls his strings. A dangerous person, if unchecked

  6. Just what crimes are being committed?
    Parking violations?
Not on the designated truck routes?
Noise? (Just have a quiet period, 11 PM to 7 AM, same as in any hotel).
My what a rowdy bunch we are….

    1. Municipal by-laws in many cities prohibits the evil practise of playing street hockey. Makes the Karens feel important.

      1. AYFKM? I played stick ball in my suburban street … but there were no Karens back in the 1960’s … just an old bitty or two and the neighborhood busybody. No one else cared that good kids were playing outside … and not watching after school cartoons on the telly.

  7. That was some fairly meaningless rhetoric from Sloly. There are no additional resources to do any of his list in Ottawa. The army said essentially, “fuck off, clean up your own shit”. The RCMP does not exist in Ontario as a significant police force. The OPP will not get involved especially considering Ipperwash in 1995. As protests go, this is pretty tame compared to what happened a few years ago with the Quebec dairy farmers protest.

  8. In January 2016, Sloly gave a speech criticizing the size of the police budget as excessive, in which he said: “Until policing stops being focused and driven on that reactive enforcement model, it will continue to be exponentially costly.”

There some pretty big reactive enforcement model rhetoric from some on the police council.

  9. My freedom is not something Trudeau or Ford or any bureaucrat in the country has a fucking say in.

  10. I’m a fan of most police officers. The ones where I live now are fantastic.

But I lived in Ottawa and the ones in Ottawa are horrible. They are arrogant, mean, and have no interest in serving the people. They assume you’re a criminal and go from there.

  11. What the Ottawa police should remember is that when something bad happens (given that Ottawa residents are anxious about anyone who doesn’t shop at Whole Foods, it very well could), THEY will get blamed and Justin will skate.

Ottawa Police, you can go about your regular duties and NOT get thrown under the bus or you can follow your orders and face a trial down the road.

  12. The police chief is a politician. No different than anybody in the HoC or the town council. His ass is on the line and he’ll most likely be gone as soon as this thing is over. He is outa answers. His tough guy act was laughable.

The homo mayor is also a lame duck as he’s not seeking re election.

You can’t call in the army and have Canadians fighting Canadians on Canadian soil. If that happens the corner office occupied by the Bong will also be empty.

    Change is coming.

  13. It sounds like the corrupt #OttawaPolice are now going to use a siege stance, not altogether different than what the Germans did around Stalingrad or Warsaw. This is going to test the mettle of the truckers and their supporters.

The Lieberals and their paid thugs will stop at nothing to suppress this freedom movement.

    1. “It sounds like the corrupt #OttawaPolice are now going to use a siege stance, not altogether different than what the Germans did around Stalingrad or Warsaw.”

      NAZI’s NAZIing.

      1. I am very surprised we have not seen hyde nor hair from the esteemed Eminence Grise and former Police Chief of Toronto Bill the Bloviator Blair. Cat got his tongue ? Formerly noted for his outstanding and visible success at reducing “gun” crime in Toronto and as the most odious political lickspittle ever to hold the position he was duly rewarded, as is the Librano custom, to a warm seat in Ottawa. Now he remains silent, utterly silent, unusual, given his past performances. Perhaps he does not wish to throw shade on another ex Toronto cop/ politician called Sloly.
