Things That Go Boom

eugyppius- In Germany we have the highest electricity prices in Europe and we just blew up our largest-capacity nuclear plant on live television.

A weird clique of freaked out activists, sour schoolmarms and intellectually confused people are dragging Germany into the abyss, while our elected politicians stand around and make tepid suggestions. Our leading industrial city just voted for its own complete deindustrialisation in fifteen years. One in five municipal utilities in Germany hopes to decommission its entire natural gas network by 2045. We are headed straight for disaster.

  1. The intellectually confused eventually become the economically destitute. And don’t ask what the sour schoolmarms become … because they’ve already arrived at their end point.

  2. I suspect those people making these bad decisions won’t have to put up with the consequences of their choices. They have their escape plan ready…

    1. It’s gonna be quite entertaining watching New Yorkers eat each other alive. No, nobody will be eating the rich … the commies will be eating each other.

      1. I think Mamdani wants wealthy New Yorkers to leave so he can seize their houses, condos, and apartments.

The choicest abodes will go to Dems like AOC, the rest will become public housing, and end up as slums.

        1. Yeah, that’s what happened in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution (watch Dr. Zhivago). My fathers family lived in Russia and got out in the mid 1920’s after the Revolution. The seized houses were quickly turned into hovels as many families moved into them and allowed them to disintegrate. Within a few years, they were uninhabitable.

          1. That’s collectivization all right. Everyone else’s collective wealth stolen once, followed by the hard, hungry cold times. The only question is how many of those saying “but that won’t work…” need to be rendered to allow this attempt at the glorious Socialist future (that has never been done right [tm]”.

  3. The people replacing ze Germans wouldn’t know what to do with industrialisation anyways.

  4. I often think about the mentality that would refuse to look at the big picture. You can use Germany as an example, or Canada. Even if both those countries go 100% “Luddite,” it doesn’t make a dent. It doesn’t matter or change anything. Because, as long as China, India (and yes, the US refuse to play the virtue game) their self-sacrificing actions do nothing more than put them at a self-imposed disadvantage. More importantly, I don’t think it makes much difference from a “climate change” perspective if every country took these same misguided steps.

This consideration brings up what must be going through the minds of those who impose these restrictions on their own “local” society. They must wonder how they are going to get the rest of the world to act in the same illogical manner. And, I don’t think they intend to make it voluntary.

If you think about it, the hiccup in the “Globalization Movement” really puts a damper on such a worldwide act.

  5. I find it somewhat ironic that the downfall of Nazi Germany was a war they started with Russia where two of the main goals were accessing cheaper energy sources and gaining more land for ethnic Germans, now modern Germany is destroying their cheap energy sources and importing people to crowd out the ethnic Germans.

    1. Germans, stuck on stupid since its unification in 1871- so glad my ancestors left Saxony for America in the 1840’s.
