But Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson doesn’t support the truckers, doesn’t support free speech, and appears to be a lackey for Prime Minister Blackface: Tory MLA pulled from role for not supporting COVID-19 vaccine mandates

Note: Ms. Stefanson claims she is a Progressive Conservative. Why not just be honest and drop the latter label? With friends like this, who needs enemies?!?

Dear Premier Stefanson,

Your recent punishment of Josh Guetner for meeting with the truckers protesting COVID-19 vaccine mandates has guaranteed that you will never actually win an election.  In a democratic society, different ideas are allowed to be discussed and meeting with people against your ideas is considered good policy.

I am surprised by the rhetoric of both levels of government at trying to paint the working class people protesting because of their frustrations as racists, nazis and misogynists who are desecrating the statues and graves of the Unknown Soldier when there is very little evidence that this is actually what what occurred. It is a surprising propaganda tactic these days to label anyone that doesn’t agree with you as racist no matter if this is the topic at hand or not.  I guess it is easier than actually tackling the issues.  Dismiss them with slurs about their intentions.  It seems you all are reading from the same playbook.  In the past this would have been called slander with no evidence.  Now it seems to be the way that politicians conduct business.

In case you haven’t noticed, the vaccine is doing very little to contain the spread of the omicron variant, with some evidence suggesting that people who are vaccinated actually are 1.6 times more prone to it, suggesting negative vaccine efficiency.  For the point of argument we will agree that it may make the virus less severe.  The vaccine is therefore only reducing symptoms.  From a public safety perspective this means that the vaccinated are actually more likely to be spreading the virus as they are going to be more likely to be asymptomatic.  How do these mandates make sense?

It seems the mandates and rules against the unvaccinated have always been about encouraging vaccination.  I can tell you with a good amount of certainty you have currently reached the maximum number of people that you will in this vaccine campaign.  The rest have dug their heels in and are willing to die on this hill.  The more you pressure people, the more the vaccinated are questioning your motives.  You can say that 85 percent of people are with the mandate as they took the vaccine.  The majority of my friends and family that did it at first did so for the promise of a return to normal, which hasn’t happened, and later they took it as they were forced and coerced to do so by their workplace or society.   I have friends that cried for weeks after taking the shot, as they did it under such duress.  I know many people that have had covid after being vaccinated.  Even our prime minister, who received his booster on January 4th, is isolating as he is afraid of spreading the virus.

My father fought in the second world war and my mother was a war bride.  They would both be rolling in their graves if they knew what was happening under the current government.  You are trying to rule over the working class as if they are so uneducated that they need to be forced into giving up the most personal private thing a person can have: Their bodily autonomy.

      When you do, it won’t just be political – you’re on the wrong side of history here you will be criminally responsible. Maybe you can start throwing people under the bus fast enough but I doubt it. You had an opportunity and you chose to weasel.

  6. Doug Ford has come out of his cave long enough to denounce the truckers. He did a similar thing at the start of the COVID adventure labeling any opposition as “Yahoo’s” . At the time I thought that might become his Hillary “Basket of Deplorables” moment , but now basically telling the trucker to F#$% OFF completely defines him as an elitist. The guy is an absolute moron. If he were to basically state something like Ron Paul and remove the COVID mandates he would be an instant hero , but no he tells the truckers to F#$#$ OFF. You were not voted into the position by the voters of Manitoba you are a party appointy. Your heavy handed over reach is playing into the ndp and setting up the ndp to be the next leaders of Manitoba. You are losing your voting base with moves like this, you seem to be an ” o toole , trudeau ” clone. Enjoy the short time you have left as the first woman premier of Manitoba.   11. Re Covid-19 vaccine mandates, I’ve read an excellent summary of these past 2 years:

  16. It appears that the RCMP have moved in to the truck blockade at Coutts Alberta. Sounds like the police have the support of Kenney. Probably push to re-open the crossing over the next couple of days. The justification will be that they have to get the crossing open to, among other details, get the supply chain rolling. This will take some time to get that many trucks turned around, fuelled, etc. It would be sad if a significant number of truckers, that would use that crossing to support the supply chain from both sides of the border, were to return home and discover that they had the sniffles from being out in the cold so much. Truly unfortunate if they had to self isolate for ten or fourteen days just in an abundance of Omicron caution. It would have a bad effect on the supply chain. We can only hope that that doesn’t happen.

    2. Kenney stupidly passed a bill to outlaw protesters blocking important infrastructure. This was when the anti-pipeliners were blocking railways.
      I guess he was just too stupid to think that maybe such legislation could be inflicted on right-wing protests too.
