Scratch A Canadian TV Production

Seffi Kogen @seffikogen;

I think this is the most antisemitic thing I have ever seen in a TV show. For those of you unfamiliar with Jewish law, which puts precedent on healing and saving lives, there is no prohibition on the kind of bone graft in this clip. The writers made it up, dressed their actors in Jew-face, and put random extremist nonsense in their mouths.

Nurses is a “Canadian medical drama television series that premiered on Global on January 6, 2020”. (The writers and producers.)

From the comments: Did I hear right they called the patient Israel as well? Wow

          1. I remember that show. Never actually saw it – and thanked God for that even at the time. In those days the radical French-Canadian Pierre Vallieres had become notorious for his screed “Negres blancs d’Amerique”, and I suggested that the CBC might redeem something from the mess by buying the rights to that book and having the French and English tv services collaborate on a mash-up, along the lines of “White N-words of Jalna”. Never heard back.

        1. I just watched one as I had never heard of Starlost, and I am assuming that we grew up in the same era. All those actors are white!!!! White as the driven snow. White; the heresy. The CBC needs to burn the tapes.

          1. Actually, it was on CTV but I take your point.

I remember the lead-up to the show when I was a freshman undergraduate. There was a great advertising campaign a few weeks before it first aired but, as it turned out, the production wasn’t even finished. It had to borrow music and even scenes from the Bruce Dern movie Silent Running to have something to put on the screen. (I think that might have been explained in one of the links I posted.)

As it turned out, the series was a clunker. Much of the creative talent (including Harlan Ellison and Ben Bova) quickly bailed out. Even actors who were well-known at the time (e. g., Sterling Hayden and Walter Koenig–yup, Mr. Chekov himself) couldn’t make up for the bad writing and hokey plots. Its first episode was shown early in the fall of 1973 and, by early the following year, the series was yanked.

Although there’s apparently a DVD edition of the series available, I think the network and the producers would just as soon forget about it.

    1. Here’s the deal. “The Palestinians” have totally and completely LOST their global cache’. The general public no longer supports their “cause”. Why? Because the vast majority of the public has grown tired of Muslim Terrorism. And what do “The Palestinians” bring to the table other than Terrorism? Stabbing young girls in their sleep? Bombing pizza parlors? Blowing up busses?

“The Palestinians” and their left wing Israel haters have to try a new tactic. And that tactic is to use the “sky daddy” mockery. “Look how silly (and unscientific) those Hasidic Joos are!” They’re worse than ewwwww Christian Scientists.

Nevermind mocking a religion that stabs little girls to death to appease Allah … noooooo … Islam is a “serious” “peaceful” religion … Right?

Pro tip: this new tactic for eradicating Israel isn’t gonna work either.

    2. I liked the part where the nurse says “You can forget about basketball” Good too many orthodox Jews in the NBA anyway.

  1. The good news is, since it’s a Canadian production it will be an over-earnest, over-acted, unwatchable politically-correct pastiche, and won’t last long.

    1. that only works if they can find some other piece of CanCon to replace it that is cheaper and still checks all the right boxes…

and it’s entirely possible it will get picked up by the CBC once they turfed from global

    2. If it were on CBC it would run for a decade without watchers. Instead, let’s see how many more episodes it lasts.

  2. There seems to be Jew haters everywhere. Could it be that diversity in immigration encourages Jew haters? I never quite figured out why I was supposed to hate Jews. Back in the day I used to do business with a lot of Jews and they were all very good to me.

    1. Likewise; back in the 70s I worked out at the (then) YMHA (‘Jewish Y’) in Toronto, and also encountered many Jews through my job.

  3. Without injustice in the world, we wouldn’t need to these incompetent virtue signalers for anything, so they must make it up.

Which has been confirmed. Really disgusting though, from our “National Broadcaster.”

The lowest of the low, fomenting and fabricating prejudice, much like the QAnon BS in US.

  4. I guess they got a little tired of the obvious Catholic/anti-abortion or evangelical/gay conversion storylines and tried to do something as equally stupid and unrealistic.

  5. Tune in next week when Moshe refuses a lifesaving porcine skin graft for a burn.

Welcome to the club chosen ones…a brief respite from whites being portrayed as small minded, racist, bible thumping, gun toting preppers who are responsible for all of the world’s problems. And all this is brought to you from the good folks at Corus Entertainment of Canada who you had the privilege of subsidizing to the tune of 17 million in bail out money last year. Is this a great country or what?

I see two members of the Shaw family on the board of directors giving me yet another good reason why I cut the cable years ago and where my viewing time of Canadian TV via the aerial can be measured in seconds.

  6. I just watched that clip. I noticed the condescending attitude of the physician and the nurse with their we-know-what’s-best-for-you-so-shut-up attitude.

Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised at that, considering that we’ve been subjected to that for the past year, aided and abetted by the various networks, all bought off by Prinz Dummkopf.

  7. On a positive note, at least the writers didn’t bring up the Protocols of the Elders of Zion nor give the patient a hook nose. Next episode maybe. As stated above, this Canadian content show won’t around for long.

    1. I was never any good as an anti-Semite. I could barely handle the Amateur Tocols of the Elders of Zion.

  8. My wife was watching another medical drama of this sort of vomit inducing, politically correct, garbage last night. Lots of references to evil congress cancelling Obamacare… One of the patients in this episode was Jamaican or something and she kept crashing whenever they tried to move her bed. They were trying to move her into surgery and couldn’t because she kept crashing and going into cardiac arrest. The family kept pressuring them (the doctors) to do some literal voodoo bullshit ritual… because it was necessary for some dumb superstitious reason… so throughout the show they keep pressuring this doctor (chief of cardiac surgery) to perform this ritual and he wouldn’t because… well… it’s demented bullshit, right? So of course you see where this is going. Wise, progressive, leftist, woman convinces the doctor that doctors are superstitious people too and that why not allow the family to do the ritual, ‘maybe it will work.’ Jesus fucking christ… they let the family do the voodoo and so they dance around like idiots and literally grab a scalpel and start cutting into this girl… and…. drum roll please… patient no longer crashes and cardiac surgeon is able to save her. Wise, progressive, leftist woman administrator watches knowingly from the observation room.

99% of TV is totally unwatchable these days.

  9. Kate, with this post you’ve very likely inspired the Spawn to now try “Jew-Face”. It’s probably the only “something-face” that is potentially acceptable / encouraged in progressive circles.

  10. They dropped free broadcast TV for poor people in rural English Canada. I guess that was the bribe so Bell provides free campaigning for the Liberal Party. I only ever watched CTV for the Liberal cheerleading news. I now spend $12.99 a month for 100 plus channels despite only having the ability to watch one at a time. I wish they at least carried Newsmax. Maybe Newsmax charges for their signal.

    1. If you are talking about Fire TV just get a VPN and you can get NewsMax and Fox Sports and a whole lot of US channels.

  11. Can-con has been pathetic for as long as I can remember, and that’s a long time!

I remember when Canadian music was mandatory (not all Canadian music bad!) for
a good portion of the radio broadcast. The same songs over and over and…..

    1. The same songs over and over and…..

Or mediocre cover versions of songs that were popular in other countries, particularly in the U. S.

    2. Hey, don’t knock CanCon: without CanCon, that Canadian musical icon Terry Jacks (Seasons in the Sun is quite possibly the worst song ever recorded, certainly in the top 10 worst songs ever!) wouldn’t have had a career at all!

      1. quite possibly the worst song ever recorded

It can’t be that bad as Nana Mouskouri recorded her own version. But, yeah, hearing the same thing over and over and over again became quite irritating.

      2. Terry Jacks produced Seasons in the Sun for the Beach Boys but they didn’t release. Jacks released his own version instead and sold 14 million copies.

        1. Yup, enough to buy his boat and float outside a (dirty!!!) pulp mill with a bullhorn shouting “Shut it down, and compensate the workers!” (letting us all know he has no effing clue what money is or where it comes from).

  12. Meh.
    Ain’t gonna watch.
But fits CBC narrative, these idiots see racists, antisemites and extremists everywhere they look.
Could be they might want to correct their own cranial rectal inversion?

For I see the same things..but only amongst the chosen over at the Constantly Biased Corpse.
In typical progressive fashion, they are what they are demanding we condemn..
So burn CBC,salt the earth and all these societal ills will disappear from Can Ahh Duh.

    I love Libtard logic.

  13. Back when Air Farce was funny, they did a skit about a Canadian film producer. He commented that his overpriced taxpayer funded production had only two people pay to watch the premier. “The mark of a great Canadian production!” he remarked.

    1. Back when Air Farce was funny

That must have been a loooooooong time ago….. I caught bits of it while it was on radio and there were moments when it was funny. I gathered that it declined after it moved to TV, particularly after Dave Broadfoot left.

    2. Nope – never funny. I’ve watched Canadian comedy since the 1950s. Only SCTV and and the Kids in the Hall were funny. I laughed at Wayne and Shuster when I was 6 but grew up. The rest was painful to watch – reminded me of Trump humour. Actually Norm MacDonald was good but that was American TV.

  14. The Red Green show was some of the best comedy I have ever seen on TV, Steve Smith ” Red Green” was a natural at comedy and the cast of characters was excellent. Never thought I would ever say any thing good about the CBC aka the Communist Broadcasting Corporation but there it is. It is still available on youtube and is still immensley popular.

  16. Faux outage to drum up ratings.

The actor, Alex Poch-Goldin, who portays the Orthodox Jew, is Jewish himself.

As he begins his lines, with respects to his son’s skin graft, he literally uses the word “goyim”; a derogatory term for anyone non-Jewish.
