While stationed in West Germany in the 60’s, I was fortunate to ride the wuppertal train on two separate occasions. It was snowing once and truly a magical trip. The second trip was in the summer. The windows on the cars were open and we traveled right by hundreds of window flower boxes on the apartment buildings. The scents of flowers filled the tram car. If you ever travel to Germany, this should be a “must visit” destination.

I sandblasted and painted bridges and water towers and I’m pretty confident saying rust killed that thing.
