  1. All I’ve learned of Sask farming and ranching is from QuickDick vids. Kinda like taking correspondence course in brain surgery.

  2. Quick Dick is my hero. I want to be just like him when I grow up. I’m 72 which translates to young middle aged.

  3. Ok Dickey. Tarp strap me to a woman more able than my wife of many years and I am ready to go.

  4. Quick Dick failed to mention where I can obtain FREE Tarp Straps from the Trudeau Govt. Do I check in with the Dept. of WE? Do I have to attend a WE seminar of tarp strap indoctrination, err … safety training … before obtaining my FREE tarp straps? Will Margaret be teaching that class?

Nevermind … I know … REAL working people are on their own. No FREE tarp straps. Nope. Only FREE stuff for the French speaking woke folk.

    1. You need to talk to the Cowburgler brothers at WE-Tarp.
There is a huge tarp strap shortage which is why Blackie Trudeau has given a quebec company $867 million to produce more tarp straps.
Production should be on line by 2025.
Margaret Trudeay has been hired to produce a song and dance number to promote them.

  5. Kate – thanks for pointing me to QDM a few months ago. I believe it was his New Gun Law video. I’ve been a subscriber since and look forward to 10 minutes of Tuffnell,SK sanity every Monday morning. Here in Chicago sanity is as rare a commodity as an honest politician. I’d like to point you to Second City Cop Blog for regular updates on the continued decline of our city from the cops on the street perspective. Take care & thanks again!

  6. When I got some of my late father’s machines ready for shipping, both tarp straps and ratchet straps came in handy. They kept the machines from sliding off their pallets.

  7. Where is he from? That’s a very strong Rick Mercer-esque maritime accent. Unless he’s doing it deliberately.

    1. Dixon Delorme, says he was born in Saskatchewan. His dad worked for the Federal Government and he and his 2 brothers were raised there. However, in one YouTube that I recall from a few months ago, he mentioned he had ties to Nova Scotia. His ‘accent’ is definitely from the Maritimes. I lived there for almost 20 years so you have a good ear, Daniel.

Quick Dick McDick, his youtube personna, is quite a character and putting ‘on’ a little “This Hour Has 22 Minutes” for his audience is quite brilliant and funny imo. You’ll see here, in the link below, he’s very charming in the interview but without the, as you say, “Rick Mercer-esque Maritime accent.”

Perhaps his parents came from N.S. as “Delorme” is a French name and the Maritimes are still a mixed bag of ~ 50-50 ish English- French.

I am a Calgarian originally from Anglo speaking Quebec. I preferred life in the Maritimes rather than Quebec. The people are more friendly and have a great sense of “joie de vivre,” much like Dixon Delorme.

Here is the aforementioned interview from February 2020 from

  8. Nearly had my face taken off by a tarp strap that bust due to old age.

Treat them with respect even when they are old!

  9. When I was growing up there were no tarp straps, nor was there any duct tape.

Had to fix everything with haywire.

  10. During my summer on the hay ranch in Southern Oregon … I learned of the one indispensable utility object on the ranch … ‘baling wire’. Yes … everything was held together with baling wire. And while I was moving the sprinkler hand lines, wheel lines, and maintaining the center pivot irrigation … I used my 6-inch piece of baling wire, hooked onto the belt loop of my jeans … to unclog the sprinkler heads.

What clogged them? Catfish … from the irrigation canal that got through the pump screens. All I can say is … it was nasty business. The catfish parts did not come easy … and tended to spray themselves free of the nozzle. Yes … my hand couldn’t help but be in the spray-zone. It sometimes took a good 5-minutes of plunging the wire into nozzle to extricate all of the fish head and guts. Nasty business … that HAD to be done.

  11. Hey is there a reward for found tarp straps, I see them on the road all the time. Never understood just how valuable they are to industry. Very informative. I must admit I have added Tuffnell,SK to my tour list of sites to visit on my next trans canada road trip. Surely there is a sign pointing to the location from the highway, right?
