I often talk with Americans as part of my work. In discussion with one, who lives in a small town in Montana, he commented he was moving out of his small town and buying a substantial parcel of land. He went on to say that houses are being snapped up by people wanting to leave the Seattle’s/Portland’s who are purchasing homes in rural USA. One friend of his listed his home, which sold for asking price in 7 hours SIGHT UNSEEN.
The pendulum has swung and these cities, full of rot, oikophobia and loathing are about to slip into history in terms of relevance.
I just heard the same thing from a friend in Georgia. He’s outside Atlanta by an hour and a half but in his small city the price of real estate is through the roof due to people fleeing the city. What’s ironic is he’s thinking of fleeing his town and going to an area more remote because of the BLM riots that occurred in his town. (Excuse, me peaceful protests.) He asked me about Canada and I just laughed and told him about Blackface McFancy Socks. He’s switch to looking in Idaho.

Trump (and Giuliani) did more than anyone to make NYC great again. That in itself is enough reason to destroy it.
We’ve seen a bunch of cities go into a tailspin from which they can not pull out of: Detroit, Baltimore, Cleveland, St, Louis, and so on. This trend now seems to accelerating. The common factor appears to be progressive politics that abandon the traditional priorities of a civic government. When law enforcement is viewed as a right-wing war against the oppressed, it’s time to move out.
The question is now, will this cancer spread throughout the U.S., and even Canada?

My old neighbourhood in Toronto, Mt Pleasant and Eglinton now have the home owners protesting against the homeless living in the Roehampton Hotel along with the drug sites and tent villages. Reading the article from the now-former NYC resident, one thing really stood out to me: “And then in June, during rioting and looting, a second wave of NYCers (this time including me) left. Which tells me he still doesn’t entirely get it. The CD-19 shutdown has indeed hurt NYC greatly, as he details in paragraph after paragraph and with multiple anecdotes, but the breakdown of law and order and the willingness of NYC’s leadership to allow it to happen and even encourage it is finishing NYC off. As well, he doesn’t consider it to be noteworthy beyond that it didn’t matter until the threat of violence personally impacted him.
The “protest was largely peaceful” argument made by protestors and pols all across America no longer flies when the photos and video show otherwise. Not to mention that if you poll Black Americans something like 90% of them are opposed to the “defund the police” movement, because they know that they will be many of the people adversely impacted by the increase in crime due to law enforcement being unable to do its job.
You can also thank Soros for this, and the vast sums of money he’s poured into local elections, in particular to elect attorneys general and state and local DAs who happily announce that the lists of crimes, including felonies, that they will either cease to prosecute or go easy on.
