That was a not at all complex task the Tesla was trying to navigate. Look at the speeds involved. Notice that the traffic in the other lanes was stopped too?
Maybe Teslas need to be equipped with a big white cane so they can detect solid objects in front of them?

I can hardly wait until all liberal socialists are driving Tesla’s. That should cut down on the angst among freedom loving people, as long as they only kill themselves.
I’m thinking that Tesla drivers are the unknowing beta testers of the autos.
To be fair, the owner said the Autopilot worked flawless before this incident. Me thinks because it was an open backed object there is not solid object to reflect radar?
