Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

C’mon Potato, give the Globe more money. It’ll pay off in the long run.

isn’t what people want after all..

As I glance at the Twit comments, it seems he’s spending our money there.
Read about 30 comments. Judging by the numbers, Twitter has about 5% to 10% of people who are obviously conservative and need to be banned. After that, they will achieve full chairman Mao echo chamber financial reward level. Which is to say, Twitter should be starting their layoffs fairly shortly, as they also continue to ignore the first rule of holes/graves.
FYI, first rule of holes: WHEN YOU ARE IN ONE, STOP DIGGING.
First rule of graves: DON’T DIG YOUR OWN.
I hear that Twitter Inc. rented a backhoe and a dump truck. SJWs always double down.
When the majority (all except for The Rebel?) took their part of the $600 million in federal credits / welfare aid, did they have to sign on saying they wouldn’t lay large numbers off prior to 2020? (prior to the next federal election?).
Would this only be found out in the year 2023 via a Freedom of Information request?
Read through some of the twits as well. Seems a lot of liberals are pi$$ed because the G&M had the nerve to actually report news negative to the liberals instead of suppressing it as per their norm.
…and think that’s the reason for its demise….
hahaha Take the severence or you’ll be turfed with nothing as soon as the offer expires.
I see large student loans in all their futures … retuning to college for a more lucrative degree … in say … ethno-racist “Studies”.
They should “LEARN TO CODE”
HAHAHA, couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch. Haven’t read the crap and mail for years, haven’t missed anything. Kinda thought they were already dead.
They are in Tronna, “Centre of the Universe”….in their minds, anyways.
It’s refreshing to learn that the FAKE media are all … deniers. Deniers of their own demise. They blame an invisible gas for their demise … ewwww … conservatives. If. We. Just. Ban. More. Conservatives. Our. Fortunes. Will. Grow.
No wonder they can’t get the SCIENCE of Global Warming sorted out.
Is it just me or do most Canadian Twitter comments suck?
As Greg stated, the snowflakes in Toronto hated hearing the truth about their French hero Justa Turnip who’d throw every single one of them under a runaway Ottawa bus for a K Becer’s ‘job’.
Toronto’s a shithole full of shitheads.
Buddy, Terana is so bad, it’s almost as bad as Clapgary!!!
A lotta Tronna folks moved here, sport. Some of us are “early leavers” of central Kanaduh…… for a reason. I’ve been here for 40 years.
What town are you from, by the way?
Had to laugh at the comments from Warren Yuill, pointing out how the Canadian media (well, the G&M, TorStar, Global, and CTV) fail to criticize the CBC’s role in destroying good journalism AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. For the Canadian media to fail to give the Ceeb a routine beat-down is like MacDonald’s employees handing out free Burger King coupons at the drive-thru entrance.
The G&M wasn’t worth the price when they were free in Hotel rooms and I doubt that they have improved since. Skimming the Twitter comments gives one a good picture of the illiberal mindset that Canada is blessed with. CBC clones such as the G&M have no reason to exist as we are already paying big time for the same ideological sputum.
$650 million doesn’t go as far as it used to….
And just yesterday the Toronto Star tried to put lipstick on a pig by stating that they’ve increased their digital subscribers by 50%*.

Why, I couldn’t be happier if I learned that Vice was tanking…oh, yes, why it is:

Well, as long as all the smart people who want to tell me what to think aren’t stupid like Trump “losing” money or something.
“Management didn’t give a headcount for how many they’re aiming for, but cuts will likely come across all depts.”
I suppose that there must be a few white males over 40 left in each department who can take the fall for everybody else’s incompetence. A few might even have voted for Harper. Good riddance to THEM, obviously.
With each passing year, I feel less and less attached to eastern Canada. It as bad as being governed from Brussels. We have as about as much input, and we have no way to control the amount of money they extort. The Globe was a leader in that demise, vilifying anything the West ever uttered. Reform Party, Oil, anti-CWB sentiment, pipelines, rural home invasions and on and on it went. There is very little media that reflects the population. Best to talk to your neighbours for any real news.
The G&M could just de-hire(so much more empathetic a term than fire) all in the oppressor class: the white privileged(the new white witch/warlock hunt), toxic masculinity, those who believe in the greatness of Western Civilization and those who believe in Canada, as a nation state made up of those with shared values.
Soon, the press in Canada will consist of state owned or state submissive(indirectly funded by gov’t), accessible only via the CBC, and Rebel Media. Rebel Media staff and contributors will be treated the same as Christians in Pakistan.
RebelMedia will not be completely eliminated, as the Cult. Marxists/Islamists require a scapegoat for their failed ideologies.
At one time I subscribed to all three papers simultaneously. One to keep me current with small c conservative thought. One to get a variety of opinion and the third to keep in touch with what the enemy was doing.
I packed in the Red Star when it became an insult to intelligent thought. A bit later, the other paper started drifting further left. I cancelled my subscription. Now I still subscribe to the NP but am reaching the point of exasperation with it too and have seriously considered cancelling it too. I just do not need another Lieberal propaganda machine in my living room.
The TV networks are hopeless Lieberal chirpers. I long ago gave up on watching the 11 o’clock news.
Long live the Rebel!!
Hey Globe employees, form your own newspaper. Borrow the money from the Unifor pension funds.
Charge lots of money for each paper, and lots more for the net version.
Get unions to make subscriptions mandatory and include with union dues.
You’ll make tons of money !
A few of the younger hacks will actually try to go it alone recycling press releases of globalist fronts. Forgive me for not wishing them luck, because they’ll need plenty.
The only ones with a genuinely bright future are the ones who can get the jobs in PR writing the press releases.
Basically the young, pretty ones were given three weeks to offer ex-boyfriends in the PR game whatever unnatural sexual acts would earn them a good reference.

I had to look it up to get the dates down, to get a rough idea of when the technical milestones that made newspapers as we knew them possible became widely available:
Widespread telegraphy 1850
Newsprint 1850
Double sided rotary press 1870
Practical wire photos 1935
Computerization of typesetting 1970
And in parallel, the disruptive technologies, that each had a share in draining the money out of the broadsheets:
Radio 1925
Television 1950
Colour television 1965
Cable news 1980
Teh internets 2000
Schadenfreude is fun, but newspapers are done regardless of their editorial content. The money is gone, as surely as it’s left the music business or bricks and mortar retailing.
We need a free press, aand real reporting costs a lot of money. While other industries have adapted to the internet revolution, the news business is still trying to figure out how to monetize what they do.
It’s not a good thing, especially at the municipal level. Nobody’s watching city hall anymore.
