We can easily see, although the alphabet community isn’t mentioned here, that they are a part of the war on God and on Christian America especially. Now that we have approved transgenderism among adults and children, we have no idea what comes next after they win this battle. And it certainly looks as if the battle has already been won.           Yes, the Dear Leader won the last election with 39.5 percent of the vote. In 2011, Harper won with 39.6 percent.* So the Liberal victory was less comprehensive than all the noise and heat it around it might make it appear. It would not take too much for the vote to swing back to the Tories this time around and the Liberal backroom boys know it.**

    So the question to be asked is are there any Albertans out there, reading this SDA web site, that can inform us as to the feeling of voters on the ground? Colby Cosh as a good article in today’s National Post, talking about voter anger against Notley in Calgary. But the corporate media cartel in Toronto are talking, in one agreed-upon voice, that Notley still has a good chance for an upset.       Residential home prices are down 20-30%. Our neighbours realtor told her to wait two years before selling. And yet our city tax assessed value went up $50,000.
      I think it’s safe to say Blue will win. Orange will carry a few in Calgary & Edmonton, but not enough.

      As for Red Rachel herself, I live in her riding, unfortunately. Yesterday, when I went to collect my mail, I received a flyer from the Dippers. I chucked it into the recycling bin and a lot of my fellow tenants in my building did the same. Whether it meant that she had little support isn’t clear as we have a large number of Chinese students living here.

      Last NDP ads I heard suggested Kenney would turn roads into toll roads and you’d need a credit card to go to hospitals. Interestingly I’ve heard a few left leaning journalists say that’s not what Kenney is saying.

      Alberta’s debt was 11.9 billion when Nutley came to power (source Gary Mason Globe & Mail). It’s now projected to be almost 100 billion if Nutley gets a second term.

      Nutley says she’ll balance the budget by end of her second term. But that includes royalty revenues of 12 billion a year (we are currently at 5.5 billion a year). Translation; Nutley has no real plan to balance the budget.

      By the way Nutley said in 2015 campaign that she’d balance the budget by this election.

      Bottom line, Nutley is running on being a pretty face, not her record. She talks very little about the economy. She has made about 13 billion in new spending promises this campaign.

      We will see if voters buy her spend, spend, spend story. Given that many voters don’t remember the very tough 1980s, a surprising number may vote for her.

      I’ve noted on posts here in the past that Notley is a very astute politician. It’s been said that Jason Kenney is the smartest politico in the country. Rachael is smart you have to give her that. It’s a battle of titans.

      The election is all about scary Jason Kenney. The press reports non stop about how the UCP will get rid of gay straight alliances in schools. CHED radio in Edmonton has an unabashed ndp supporter on it’s morning radio talk show. Calgary talk radio is Danielle Smith and Rob Breakenridge both even handed commentators. Then there’s Charles Adler who did an unprofessional hit job smear piece on Kenney and then followed it with a fawning interview with Notley.

      These things are resonating with voters. The anger that was apparent at the outset of the election over the economy has dissipated and the influence of Lavscam on the news cycle has taken voters minds off issues.

There aren’t a lot of Calgarians that I encounter who really dislike Rachel Notley, in contrast to the open contempt and disgust that Turdeau elicits whenever his name is mentioned. She does after all have a small-town background and can behave like a decent person, and she’s reasonably good at doing that, so yes, she does have a certain amount of respect as a person. But everyone recognizes that her politics are vile and disastrous. She’s going to do very badly in Calgary.

  13. From a small city north of Calgary; we have a blue sign on our lawn, not many other signs on personal properties at all. Our incumbent is also blue. Last year our sign was stolen by a group of younger Orange supporters, just missed them with the hose!
    People must have a short memory, but I can remember the difference in NDP platforms from then till now..
    On an interesting side note, Rachel’s father used to be a good friend of my grandfather and would stop by the farm often to chat.. I have some old pictures of the first NDP party in Alberta. My aunts and uncles knew Rachel, but she was not well liked, even back then!
