Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Sad news, he will be missed. We saw a retrospective of his work years ago at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts which really opened our eyes to his talent.
He did artwork for Bushwakkers brew pub in Regina, maybe 25-30 yrs back?
His stuff was on display in an art gallery in the building where I worked in the 90’s. Nice to see art that didn’t need ‘splainin.
Red Green said “I’m no artist, so if I can do it, it’s not art.” You couldn’t make what Joe Fafard made without talent, i.e. and innate ability developed through application. A proper sculptor whether you liked his stuff or not.
Very sorry to hear this.
My sentiments agree with the above.
RIP Joe Fafard, a great Saskatchewanian.
Sounds like my preferred kind of human. A life very well lived. Was he an inspiration to you, Kate?
A fine artist. You could just look at any of his pieces and know exactly what it was and it was obvious how much talent was needed to do it. Was on the Fine Arts campus during the late ’60’s when he was in his frog period and it was always a joy to check out the sculpture studio to see what was being created under his guidance.
Great man, great artist.
