  1. I continue to THANK my Swedish Great Grandparents who landed in Erie, PA in 1898 for LEAVING Erie, PA in 1918 in their Model-T … driving cross country and landing in San Diego … before migrating to N.CA in 1936.

  2. Related, and a lesson on the dangers of averages: where I live, 49 days into winter, we’ve had more snow than 5 of the last 10 years.
    What does that mean?
    Basically nothing, except that some shithead miseducated hippie crank will find a way to “prove” global warming, climate change or whatever they are calling it this week.
    Next year, we will get more, less or about the same amount of snow. And even though it will directly contradict what they said this year, the will use the same argument.
    The rest of us will call it…winter.

  5. Here in N.CA … there is NO SUCH THING as a “normal” winter … and there’s DAMN sure NO such thing as a “normal” DAILY total of rain or snow. I am quite REPULSED by the Drought Monitor which creates really RED maps based on DAILY comparisons of “drought”

    Their maps are based on DAILY comparisons … which produces a distorted view of “drought” conditions. By definition “droughts” are long term events … yet they “monitor” them on a DAILY basis. Pure Global Warmist Rubbish. And these twits are going bonkers trying to “prove” that CA is still in the grips of a “drought” that ended two years ago.
    Our CA winters can be long, short, slow-steady precipitation, or short-heavy precipitation. Wake me up when the ENTIRE winter season is over … and stop giving me DAILY comparisons. It’s just so much meaningless drivel. Partial cumulative totals are just that … incomplete. So stop with the IDIOTIC daily navel gazing!
    Aren’t these the same people who lecture us that “climate” and “weather” are NOT the same thing? Yet THEY are the ones who violate their own truth by constantly chirping about DAILY data comparisons. Why? Because day by day data reporting “looks” scary. Pure and simple.

  8. Seriously. They charged geologists in Italy with manslaughter cause their predictions were not accurate enough. When is Al Gore going to be forced to live up to his own standard?

  9. They need to stop giving every damn storm that occurs a name. We used to just call them blizzards, now the weather people are giving them names which propagates the idea that they must be something abnormal. Names are reserved for hurricanes.

    Of COURSE … the invasion of these killer starfish is all down to Global Warming, Agricultural runoff … and generally … man’s rotten evil existence.
    Wanting to learn more … I searched and found quite a different take on the crown of thorns starfish that suggests they eat only the fast-growing corals making way for the slow growing varieties to expand. And they they have always had “blooms” when they behave destructively.
    Guess which one of these scientific analyses receives the MOST $$$ FUNDING?
    A. The documentarians of doom and gloom
    or
    B. The research into the long-term benefits
    Aren’t these starfish acting beneficially? Like forest fires … left to burn in order to germinate seeds? Just askin.

  14. I only twice had to stop for snow overnight. One was in Fargo coming from Saskatoon, the other as in Erie going to Myrtle Beach. In both cases snow walls on either side of the Interstate was more than 10 feet high

    Exactly. Nor is there a ‘normal’ temperature.
    What they are giving you is the observed temperature above or below a calculated average temperature for that day. They use the word normal because it follows that anything that is not ‘normal’ must be abnormal and scary.
    Using the word ‘normal’ makes a story.

  16. Can we not find a politician with enough backbone to admit that the global warming and climate change is nothing but a giant ponzi scheme to fleece the ordinary people in the world. The first politician with enough balls to come clean will win with a landslide.
