  1. Here is a well constructed response for a question that has probably bothered most SDA readers. Read it all. It’s good.
If gender and race are artificial constructs, does diversity matter?
To prove that [INSERT MINORITY GROUP] would achieve a perfectly even 50/50 split of opportunities, were it not for the interference of [INSERT MAJORITY OPPRESSOR], we pretend there’s perfect uniformity across groups.
We proclaim that gender and race are social constructs, completely removed from science and reality.
Women, men and people of different races are perfectly uniform in all abilities, interests and aptitudes. This is an incredibly subjective stance to take… but let’s entertain it for a minute.
If this were true, then there’d be absolutely no need for diversity. If we are all uniform, then we are all interchangeable.

  2. Nick Sabin benches Hurt after 1st half… Hurt has had 3 bad games, including Sugar Bowl that was won by the Bama Defense…What ever happened to his talent (14-2) he was almost a BAMA GOD….He was playing chicken Shit 3 and out…The offensive team were not playing well for him…
Bama wins with replacement QB clawing back from a 20-0 deficit and the whole team comes together…
Sabin is a Football genius with unbelievable gonads….Footballs biggest risk taker

  3. Sir John’s Public House in Kingston Ontario is dropping the reference in its name to Macdonald so as not to offend indigenous people according to the CBC.
We are way overdo for a national federal holiday in February and I shall again propose this as policy resolution for my EDA and for other EDA’s for the national conservative convention in August.
I trust Andrew Scheer won’t wimp out on defending John A. Macdonald? There are limits after all.In fact I call on him to say something right now as this is going to get ugly if someone with backbone doesn’t stop the spread of this trend.

  4. The case of Joshua Boyle leaves so many questions it will take a long time process.
Did he convert to Islam when he married Omar Khadr’s sister? Why is his present wife wearing Islamic garb? Will he use his time in his alleged captivity as an excuse for his behavior since he returned to Canada which has him behind bars?
His story just doesn’t add up to believable…they had three children in captivity. What kind of conditions would allow them to live as a family in some hell hole in the ME they would consider safe to procreate?
Why did our Prime Minister meet with him and his family…why did Boyle want or need to meet with him?
Most Canadians who are enamored with Trudeau are happy to get a selfie, never mind a private meeting!

  5. was he given a large check during that meeting? how much was the check and when are we going to get the money back. Finally when is Justin going to resign for committing treason?

Good or bad, it should be put to rest by now. Justin Trudeau knows that. I don’t agree with everything in this article, however it does reiterate that Canada did not not make the decision to remove indigenous people from their homes and place them in ”Rez.”

    Some quotes from the article
“The truth, according to Rubel, is that equating effort expended with success achieved for everyone ‘ignores systemic barriers and institutional structures that prevent opportunity and success’ for racial minorities.”
“Rubel also advocates against ‘color-blindness’ in teaching mathematics.
‘Teachers who claim color-blindness—that is, they claim to not notice the race of their students—are, in effect, refusing to acknowledge the impact of enduring racial stratification on students and their families,’ she said.
‘By claiming not to notice, the teacher is saying that she is dismissing one of the most salient features of the child’s identity and that she does not account for it in her curricular planning and instruction.'”

  14. Sir John’s Public House in Kingston Ontario is dropping the reference in its name to Macdonald so as not to offend indigenous people according to the CBC.”
It will apparently be known as “The Public House” henceforth. A good part of the place’s cachet comes from the fact that it used to be Sir John A. Macdonald’s law office. It will be interesting to see whether a more anonymous name will effect the tourist trade or not. Alas, probably not, given the level of knowledge in the most basic aspects of our country’s history these days.
Personally, I doubt I’ll be in much of a hurry to frequent the place now, not if the ownership is that craven about the city’s most illustrious former resident.
How long before the guides at Bellevue House are no longer allowed to even mention whose house it was and why it’s a historic site, I wonder?

  15. Canadian history, as it’s taught nowadays, appears to consist of the following:
    – life in Canada was all peace, tranquility, and prosperity before the arrival of all those evil white heterosexual males,
    – Wolfe stole Quebec from Montcalm,
    – Louis Riel was the first prime minister, and
    – Pierre Trudeau was the saviour of Canada.

  16. “I have family in Australia. They had residential schools over there, that tells me that it wasn’t Sir. John A. Macdonald who devised the system. The whole issue was most likely decided in London.”
    No.
For better or worse, the residential schools were the brainchild of the dominion authorities in both Canada and Australia. By the way, New Zealand had similar mission schools for Maoris.
However, it would not be wrong to say that these schools reflected commonly-held British Imperial ideals though, which involved bringing civilization to the indigenous peoples.
Not to defend the residential school systems, but it seems too often conveniently forgotten that paedagogical methods weren’t that terrific for “white kids” in the 19th Century either. In those little one-room schools that still dot the Ontario rural landscape, discipline was strict and corporal punishment was a given. You towed the line.
The crueler teachers* in residential schools didn’t invent their methods just to be nasty to the natives; they simply brought those practices with them.
Charles Dickens had the measure of the conditions in schools – such as they were – back in those times.
    * And I say “crueler” because it has also been conveniently forgotten that many of the teachers were well-meaning and dedicated to their charges. That doesn’t fit the modern narrative though.

  17. “Wolfe stole Quebec from Montcalm”
Historical revision precedes the British conquest. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone in Québec mentioning the exploits of Madeleine de Verchères these days.

  18. Sorry UCF is the de facto NATIONAL CHAMPION … 13-0 … including a bowl win over Auburn in the Peach Bowl. Auburn beat BOTH Alabama and Georgia this season. And UCF beat Auburn in the season capping Bowl Game.
The NCAA is as corrupt as the Obama/Hillary Administration. Their “National Championship” is a JOKE. A 4-team playoff is window dressing for the “beauty contest” voting system that installs whichever teams are deemed “worthy” for completely capricious reasons. The NCAA football Nat. Champ. is the equivalent of Ice Dancing … with equal “weight” given to “costumes” and “artistry” by the Judges. And the East German (PAC 12) Judges scores are always thrown out.
Sorry, but a 2-loss Ohio State had NO BUSINESS even being part of the “Natty” discussion … and the two best teams didn’t play last night. Alabama STRUGGLED with every decent team they faced all season.

Dilbert creator Scott Adams explained in a Periscope video Saturday that President Trump’s latest string of tweets was an example of his absolute genius. He said the president had been backed into a corner by the left’s framing of him as “crazy and stupid.”
The least persuasive thing a person can do to fight such attacks, according to Adams, is to protest that he’s not crazy and stupid — because the only words people will remember are “crazy and stupid.”
So what does the president do to avoid being branded by the left as crazy and stupid?”

  21. I am not sure what a “vetting process” for Payette would consist of. What would you want vetted? Who does the vetting?

  22. Why, were the indiginous people not frequenting Sir John’s and do we want to encourage them to do so? If I were a regular customer there, I would protest this silly gesture by going elsewhere.
Quebecers are not disowning their historic leaders. Why are anglophones expected to do so? I think it is criminal to smear someone’s name like this long after they are dead because of politically correct notions that are highly questionable and which certainly were not relevant at the time. The smearing of John A. is just shameful.

  23. Could it be el Nino and el Nina? Why yes, yes, that must be it.The weather patterns …Pineapple express and the currents etc. In Canada it’s so cold up here that Nick Sluzick’s snot would freeze like a silver thread, if you’ve ever read Gabrielle Roy’s book about Manitoba, you’d think you’re a “Stranger in a Strange Land” too, up here. I would love the warmer climate of California.

  24. Yepper; Way to go ignorant Canadian, sucking up to the Biased Central Canada Media, ignoring the truth to make a few more Royalty Cheques come to your pocket.
I have a suggestion; at some time in the future, when I will not be looking down at the grass but under it;, an Honest Historian will provide documented, not biased self-interest, of how Donald J.Trump rescued the American Sovereign Citizen from the loss of Their “Great Experiment”.— It will be a sequel to the present film “Darkest Hours”; when Sir Winston Churchill beat down the already supplicant Viscount Halifax’s betrayal of the British People and Western Enlightenment based Culture and Values.

  25. The residential schools are the best thing that ever happened to the native people of Canada. It was the only way to educate the children of roaming bands of stone age hunter gatherers. The alternative was to not educate them at all. I would also guess that the average kid who came out of the one room school house of rural Canada a hundred years ago was at least as well educated as the kids coming out of the school system now.
For the record, “residential school” is just another term for “boarding school”. The most exclusive schools in Canada, Upper Canada College and the like, are “residential schools”.

  26. The Brown Family has governed this State for most of my lifetime … Edmund Brown Senior 1959-1967 Edmund Brown Junior (Moonbeam) 1975-1983 & 2011-20xx. The only reason that Jerry is serving FOUR TERMS as Governor is that his team of crack lawyers argued that his first terms were served PRIOR to the enactment of the term limits passed by the voters. They completely destroyed the original INTENT of the law by arguing against the “vague” language in the bill. Cheaters and Liars … the whole bunch of em. But even WORSE than the Brown Family political cartel … is the SUPERmajority leftist Democrap majority in both State Houses. Combined … they are turning the State into Mexifornia … where white people have to erect walls and gates to keep out the riff raff. All the leftists, who are importing poverty to the State, are living in compounds like Osama Bin Laden … or huddling together in upper middle class communities far too expensive for their gardeners to sleep-in.
Yes … I must say that snow country is a nice place to visit (white Christmas and whatnot) … but a hard place to live. But perhaps that’s why MY PEOPLE learned to “tame” nature … rather than be crushed by it. Soon enough though … Canadians won’t be able to AFFORD to “tame” the elements … and will have to return to igloos. I feel for ya.
