  1. Ask anyone who is opposed to something because it is “unnatural” if they use natural dentistry.

Maa’m … I am currently standing on my office chair CHEERING every word you said !!
Your “fringe” is where we will all SURVIVE the coming cultural holocaust. I am with YOU, in my desire to SURVIVE. PS … I still have a round scar on my left arm, just below my shoulder which is a reminder that I will NEVER contract POLIO (a naturally occurring viral infection). Thank you Jonas Salk (imagine that a … Jooish medical researcher … NOT a Terrorist bomber wearing the kaffiya). Nope. I. am. not. a. Christian “Scientist”. I am a Christian who BELIEVES in science too.

  3. I disagree with her semantically, though I am wholeheartedly for her. I say that human beings are part of nature, we do the things we do because it is in our nature to do them, therefore all that comes from the artifices of mankind is natural.
I enjoy hunting and foraging in the wild, and as I write I am enjoying a bowl of soup based on a broth from cooking agriculturally produced vegetables and containing more such vegetables and barley and also canned corned beef. I cooked it on a stove, stored it in a refrigerator, and reheated it in a microwave all powered by electricity.

  4. Quite so. The misanthropic principal is from the same source as the vegetarian; it is a denial of humanity and its nature (note “nature” is a word related to “natural”).
I do not consider humans imperfect, neither unnatural. Humans are neither perfect nor imperfect, we are humans and do what humans do. And, given the short life time of this planetary environment (another 4 billion years?) we offer the only hope for the survival of life in the universe(as far as we currently know). I think that’s pretty good.

  5. Arsenic is also “natural”.
    Uranium-235 is also “natural”.
Mercury, the element, is also “natural”.
Mercury, the planet, is also “natural”.

  6. Remember those “Nuclear Free Zones”?
Being as potassium is an essential mineral for humans I always wonder how they got rid of the radioactive component

  7. An awesome article. Next time I see a hippie, I will tell them that new recycling science has arrived that allows one to eat their own recycled fecal material, and watch the natural look on their faces.
