The media loves nothing more than to stir up controversy for ratings and clicks. As expected, almost every mainstream news outlet seized the opportunity to make a mountain out of a mole hill and to fan the flames of resentment. What I didn’t expect (but probably should have), was the reactions of fellow small and big C conservatives. Rather than defend the protesters, or stay silent, they shot their mouths off and rode their high horses straight into the battle.

Fool must think the Donald did it all wrong by defending and supporting his base.

  8. Yeah,Ezra’s right, why oh why do Conservatives kowtow to the media so often?
    Perhaps it’s because they,like all other politicians,have become insulated from the real world the rest of us live in by dint of their well compensated life styles.
    We don’t apparently have a “Trump” in the conservative ranks,at either federal or Provincial level.
    Perhaps at the next rally, instead of “lock her up”,which I thought was inappropriate considering she hasn’t broken any laws, but now can see the context of it, maybe they can borrow a chant from a rally I watched in Vancouver circa 1970,when our beloved PM’s Dad, even more beloved PM Pierre came to town and stayed at the then prestigious Hotel Vancouver.
    About two hundred people chanted their true feeling,” fu** you,True-dough”.
    Maybe the Conservatives won’t be so offended by,”fu** you Not-ley”.

    So, scratch WR off my voting list, too. They don’t even have anyone running in my riding after the NDP bench warmer was elected over one of the floor crossers. They just sent me a query for money (& my vote), as I used to be a member before Danielle & post Stelmach. I’ll be sending them a note in particular about backbones, real Albertans & not pussified ones.
    As for Kenny, well I wondered what that clown was doing running for the PROGRESSIVE Conservatives, when most of the remainers were anything but conservative. Not voting for that bunch either, as I don’t like commies in sheep’s clothing like that dude from CIBC called Prentice & having Trawnna media telling me “he’s your Man to vote for”.
    Yeah, like Ezra says: “F/Y”.

  10. So, you finally see the people in the Conservative party that undermined everything Conservative about the party. Kenney was a weasel back in the Reform days, and sucked and blowed his way into cabinet. He, Rona, and the others are just showing their true colors, and most of it is yellow.
    I just don’t understand how Conservatives let themselves be tricked and betrayed by weak kneed city kids, who spout the words they want to hear but never follow through and turn liberal once elected.
    It’s no secret how to run a successful province, but it is a secret what are the true intentions of the power lust.

  11. Great job dave in writing those that are supposed to defend Conservative Albertans. I’m adding my voice to yours. I’m very disappointed in them. Especially Kenney for not going to the rally. He wants Albertans to take him seriously, he first has to take us seriously. Brian Jean’s response isn’t a surprise after how he bumbled the Wynne-Fildebrandt facebook thing. Like Ezra (and Kate) says: pleasing your enemies does not make them into friends.

    From now on , I am forwarding a link to this email as a reply to every leadership candidate who sends me an email. I get a half dozen such emails a day. If all of us did the same, maybe they would get the point.

  13. It is not unexpected. The sliming from the grey slithering creatures of the MSM of working Canadians. However I was disheartened to see Conservatives and WR so eager to join them in the swamp. I shall have to rethink my contributions to these parties. Sad.

  14. Not sure the rally was as successful as the Rebel would have us believe. The crowd looked a little thin in the pics I saw. I actually contemplated going but it’s a 1/2 day drive and I passed.
    Crowds are unpredictable. Anything can happen and often does. This crowd was well behaved. The chant appeared spontaneous. It certainly wasn’t rehearsed.
    The Notley government has embarked on an agenda that many Albertans didn’t contemplate. The carbon tax was not even discussed during the election and has been sprung on us. It’s little wonder people are pissed. The economy is only going to get worse. The ndp have no answers and the natives are restless.
    I think the next rally in Calgary will be more of the same – only this time it might not be polite. Notley has earned the scorn of the people.

  16. Early this year, I donated to Ezra’s The Rebel which is unusual for me considering I have not donated to a political party in 35 years. I am getting ready to donate again. Not big amounts, it will be about $50 again.

    Sure, we all know, the ‘dirty’ air from China, India, Europe, etc. stays in their country and doesn’t affect us at all….. and by closing our plants down the whole world will have pristine air. Thanks NDP and Liberal voters….

    The EU has 468 plants building 27 more for a total of 495
    Turkey has 56 plants building 93 more total 149
    South Africa has 79 building 24 more total 103
    India has 589 building 446 more total 1036
    Philippines has 19 building 60 more total 79
    South Korea has 58 building 26 more total 84
    Japan has 90 building 45 more total 135
    CHINA has 2363 building 1171 total 3534
    Total worldwide 5620
    Our 5 plants contribute a staggering 0.0008897 %
    But here comes Notley from the nutty NDP to save the planet to shut down our 5 plants and become more like Ontario.

    What is left of “conservatism” is defined by the left wingnuts & their media pals. The “Remainers” as I am wont to call them, are amateurs collecting a paycheck to feign conservatism, or anything other than the mainstream Pinkos infesting this country with their ideas on how to do things. C. Alexander was “taken aback”? Why are taxpayers paying his salary & golden pension that they don’t get? BJ, the same can be asked.
    These guys, like Micheal Chong at the fed end leadership nomination should be running for the LPOC or the NDP, or hell yeah, the Greens.
    My investment money is moving to the USA, unfortunately I can’t.

    One is that this provides our political enemies, Red Rachel in Alberta and Man Bun Potato Head federally, badly-needed ammunition to use against the “conservative” parties. (“See? Even the Wild Rose and Conservatives won’t and don’t support Albertans like them!”)
    The other is that in the next elections, both provincially and federally, people who might otherwise go and vote for the Wild Rose/PCs or the Conservatives, might just stay home and not bother casting a ballot.
    Congratulations, guys, you just stuck Alberta with the Dippers until at least 2023 and made sure that Castro’s son gets even more seats in western Canada.

    The material to beef up that POV is readily available online. They should also be questioning in public, federal policies that intrude on provinces on setting up a fraudulent tax regime called a carbon tax, or else. That’s not what Confederation was about.

We could even do a prisoner exchange sort of thing: they could have our leftists and your leftists in their provincial enclaves; we could take the non-leftist people still living in the leftist leaning provinces. It might make them happy, and you could get them off your backs.
    And then we would both have better demographics to win the socio-cultural wars.
    And then of course, we might just have to take over the rest…and they would have to move someplace else.

  46. I agree, this Ezra Levant video was one of his best. Sadly, it will not reach enough viewers to matter. Damned CRTC.
    The chant was quite mild and obviously sarcastic – you can hear people in the crowd – and the left and the media exploded like volcanoes. It was ridiculous, and all so demoralizing. Even before I watched Ezra’s video, I heard & read some of the media reaction and laughed, thinking it was such a weak and transparent distraction that they were jumping on… but then I realized it was working, and the various conservative politicians started lining up and agreeing with them! THAT made me sick to my stomach.
    One of the earlier posters predicts a second Notley term and a long run for Justin Trudeau. If the conservative politicians continue down this eggshell wallking path, then that will come to pass, and Alberta and Canada will be destroyed. Damnit, why don’t conservative politicians have backbones?
