  1. Why bother shutting down industry, transportation and farming with “carbon pricing” to achieve the required emission reductions.
    This sounds so complicated.
Just do it the old fashioned way, with bigger government and regulations and lots of income, corporate and sales taxes.

  2. None of this will happen. Trudeau’s ‘ratification’ of Paris 2015 has no more substance than Chretien’s ratification of the Kyoto Protocol in 1998. The moment that it starts killing jobs or looks like it will kill jobs, it’s down the drain.
Let’s be clear here. Trudeau is already at the end of the first year of his four-year mandate. If he doesn’t get it done next year, it’s over with for the time being. And provincial objections are going to prevent any quick agreement on this monstrosity.
The electoral politics on this are brutal. Trudeau won office by sweeping the Maritimes, and getting most of Quebec and Ontario. Any carbon tax is going to hammer the Maritime provinces flat, and that can’t happen or Trudeau’s majority instantly becomes a minority. Ontario and Quebec for obvious reasons are going to say they’ve done their share already, and most of the burden should be shifted to the unGodly, unGreen western provinces. And so the infighting begins. Good for years of acrimony with no agreement anywhere on the horizon.

  3. “Good for years of acrimony with no agreement anywhere on the horizon.”
Also good for years of carbon taxing for no observable benefit to ordinary Canadians; other
than the elite to jabber on endlessly how they have ‘save the nation’.

  4. He’ll ram through carbon taxes just like the BC Liberals did. He’ll say since the provinces can’t agree he’ll act etc etc. Hopefully it’d be his undoing but hey the BC Liberals survived it. If the ROC is anything like Vancouver they’ll complain about high gas prices and praise the carbon taxes that cause them.

  5. James, Hans, what part of electoral timing and impact did you not understand? If he doesn’t get an inter-provincial agreement within the next 12 months or so, his chances of a second majority mandate just shrank drastically if he goes ahead and implements it anyway.
James, your point about BC is worthless. The only opposition Clarke had was MORE and WORSE green, not less. And don’t waste my time about the BC Conservative Party. Provincial Conservative Party in BC has been dead for two generations.
What will instead happen is that they will come to some meaningless declaration, declare victory, and life will go on. That was the Chretien method, and it worked.
You two should never play poker, you get bluffed too easily.

  6. Potato has globalist enviro-nazi Gerald Butts breathing down his neck as well. Pot won’t disappoint him. Butts is the puppet’s master.

  7. Isn’t shutting our industry and farming what Maurice Strong was advocating for decades?

  8. It’s beyond deplorable what the Wynne Liberals are doing to Ontario, it’s criminal, truth has long ago left the building. Is there such a thing as corruption any more? You have to ask who are the real idiots here, the government or the people who elect them on the basis or what’s in it for me?

  9. I know math is hard for liberals but it is impossible to expand the population and reduce CO2. impossible.

  10. Well as much as the tater tot has proven to be incompetent in the past year the morons in the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario would probably still vote for him. After all you just have to watch any Canadian TV network to witness the media cheerleaders who can t wait to promote this fools latest selfie and lisping comments as though they came from some source of intelligence.
