  1. First, I thought this was a Captain Capitalism post. I am happy that our hostess also sees the insanity.
Second, I hope that poor woman gets the counseling she needs.
Third, Why do I think these poor, fragile feminine flowers actually want to swaddled in cotton batting, rather than face the world as it comes, like brutish, uncaring, stupid males are expected to do? That they do not want to be judged on accomplishments and character? That they NEED to be separate and special, and appreciated for their unique traits, not their abilities, knowledge and skills? What happened to the original feminists that wanted a chance to prove they were equal to men?

  2. Liberalism, as practiced today, yes agreed – rotten to the core. But liberalism in its pure form – on liberty – it’s a beautiful thing imho. Ironically, Harper’s the closest thing to a “classical” liberal in decades. Reagan, though more in the conservative realist camp, was the last before. My favourite, Margaret Thatcher use common sense conservatism to near perfection. They all fused fiscal conservatism with economic liberty to help actuate a prosperous and free civil society. Statists need power anyhow, anyway, so mirror their failure onto opponents, with CBC and various watermelons and cronies in tow.
Running around saying someone “isn’t conservative enough” or is a “liberal” has no relevance or resonance with most voters. That kind of intramural scrap turns voters off; who, are sick of institutional politics and appear to be willing to put a stop to it, to the point of electing Trump or, perish the thought, Sanders to the presidency. That would but the burn on the republic. Notley is under their guns & Trudeau should take note in his heartfelt oligarchic.
Statists are never liberals, so liberals can’t be statists, it’s antithetical to the philosophy underpinning it. Playing semantic word games around ideology just dulls the intellect of the debate. Progressives, usually way closer to socialist than liberal, must rely on the fog of politics to make their inane points, currently being championed by HRC though HBO gets some sillys off too. Why do they hate real liberalism and conservatism? Because to allow it any credibility would show their political empire had no clothes. All they’ve got is bob, weave and get the LIV onside to not elect the failed billionaire in favour of their wise and “credible” leadership. Meanwhile, the voter is connecting the dots, slowly but underway.
I wonder if sometimes they (not so) secretly understand if the public actually knew how intellectually corrupt and lazy their ideas were, requiring spin dry at all times, nobody would vote for them. Hillary was just asked on CBS if she had always told the truth, she replied that she “always tried” to tell the truth.

Huh? Oh, her truth. Just hers though. Terming these totalitarians as liberals is charitable at best, even complimentary, but simply inaccurate in my view.

  3. I don’t know if I have had sex with a feminist. I haven’t asked any of the women I’ve had sex with whether they are/were feminists and I don’t recall that any ever volunteered that information. But based on the quality of my relationship (including but not limited to our sex life) with one woman who declared herself to be not a feminist, if I ever have another it won’t be with a feminist.

  4. Thank you for the clarification. I meant the liberalism of today. It is no longer liberal in the old classical liberal sense that our forefathers struggled for for centuries. The liberalism of today has been infected, even taken over, by Marxism.
My wife turns off TV shows that have feminist messages and stops buying products that advertise by denigrating the male side of humanity. Treasure!

  5. Trying to save western society is kicking a dead horse.
Myself, I’m rooting for the Russians. At least they like hockey, they’re Christians, they’re not muzz and they don’t eat insects or imbibe bear bile to get it up.

  6. Yeah.
I doubt any of todays”Liberals” have bothered reading John Stuart Mill; On Liberty.
These opportunists are parasites, fools and bandits.
They will take on any label, wear any name as long as they can fool enough gullibles to live rent free.
Once they have befouled an ideal beyond any further milking, they slide away and move in on other gullible generous people.

  7. JR: “These opportunists are parasites, fools and bandits.”
Yeah. As for reading anything, that might involve critical thought; so no; though yes a sucker born every minute. Literally.
But it doesn’t mean they get to kill the idea. As for statism, like communism it’s anarchic – an equal opportunity milker.

  8. These aren’t real feminists: they’re just whinny women who haven’t the guts to go out and hold a real job but must suck on the government teat even while they whine about “male privilege”. To my mind, the real feminists were those lauded in a long-ago book called (and I’m having to remember) “Flannel Shirts and Freedom”. It chronicled stories of women who came to the prairies in the early days of settlement, particularly those from England. These were women who gave up a privileged but restricted life “back home” for the freedom – and the responsibilities – of life as a pioneer.
My Granny was one of those, albeit with a twist (I have been known to refer to her as a “remittance woman”). When she – in her 90s – was in hospital for a cancer operation, I was privileged to get some stories of her past. One was about her time as a new bride: she ventured to make a remark at the dinner table, she was told by her husband, “You were not addressed.” Repeated this to my mother and aunt. There was a brief pause, and then a quick consensus that this could only have happened once. I gather from other remarks that Granny was a force in the community. Grandad, not so much. However, my grandparents lived to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and a small card from Grandad made it clear their’s was a good and happy marriage.

  9. I actually dated a feminist for a while in college. She was beautiful but her constant politicizing and posturing made me weary.
The sex was great, though. I made her bark like a dog.

  10. “I made her bark like a dog.”
I’m guessing that didn’t make her your bitch then?
    “She’s dead, Jim.”

  11. Rape is when the female side of the equation decides a YEAR later that she feels bummed out about doing it with you that one time, even though -she- asked -you- and was on top as well.
I’ve actually seen that. It’s a hell of a surprise, let me tell you. Nothing you can do about it either, just stand there with your mouth open and mumble “What?” as the raging person trashes you in front of everybody. Lucky for me there were no after-action repercussions, just an embarrassing moment.
Some women are just plain whacko. Can’t tell ahead of time who it’s going to be either, this one seemed fine until she freaked out.
That’s why it is very important for young men to never fish off the company pier. Having some ex rage on you in a bar is one thing. Have Janey from HR rage on you in the workplace cafeteria at lunch is something else entirely.
