Al Gore was a heartbeat from the nuclear button for 8 years.
Al Gore: We need to go to DEFCON 5. The will to act is itself a renewable resource. #AGU15

Let that sink in.
Al Gore was a heartbeat from the nuclear button for 8 years.

Let that sink in.
Well, he has been DEAF conning forever. So why now his sense of urgency . Well, apperantly the fact you have absolutely no idea what you are doing does not override the need to do something !
I spent 30 seconds looking at his twitter feed. Lordy, Mark Boslough seems like a full fledged Nut Job.
We need to go to DEFCON 5.
Hilarious yet surprisingly profound, it’s like Yogi Berra.
The left goes full on apoplectic, when the Patriot Act is mentioned, yet, when it comes to Glowbull Envirofascism, the loss of personal freedoms seems perfectly acceptable andisnt even mentioned as a passing concern.
Go figure
I would say he is your typical Occupy Democrat .
He calls himself a skeptic yet he is suckered in by every loony (with apologies to the coin) lefty idea.
Er, Defcon 5?
Isn’t that like pushing the snooze button one more time?
I wonder if him and Tipper ever engaged in 96?
Maybe I’m missing something here, but it appears that DEFCON 5 is the default state when no threat is perceived. Which makes the tweeted comment wonderful on many levels.
“The will to act is itself a renewable resource.”
Typical leftie confusion about wanting to do something and actually doing something.
“We need to go to DEFCON 5”
Typical leftie confusion about what actually constitutes doing something.
IOW We must immediately do nothing.

DEFCON 5. Really! That is the lowest level of readiness. Gore is a jerk.
For the left, words don’t have to have meaning, merely uttering words is deeply profound.
only somewhat OT, the captcha of the day is very nearly, but not quite, my address, I’m sure that would be a sign of global warming to Al’gore.
I usually don’t agree with Al Gore, and this is no exception!
Far from “defcon” five, we should be going to defcon MINUS five, which means “nuke all the countries that pollute the planet and don’t stop until they’ve ceased all planet warming activities”.
Look, this is the only way we’re gonna defeat the capitalist pigs who are destroying Gaia, so let’s get on with it.
Places to exempt from the holocaust: San Francisco, Vancouver, Eugene,Ore.,and Salt Spring Island, the rest can all go to a nuclear Hell. Mo woulda been proud.
Now,how about them Leafs?!
Thankyou for the definition.
Al Gore is right, we say that as :Hurry up and wait.
The bravest thing to do during panic and hysteria, is do nothing.
We need to go to F**KYOU1 with these thugs.
As others here have observed, DEFCON FIVE is the normal status of readiness for US military forces.
Either Gore is admitting the whole climate-change scare was not an inconvenient truth but rather a convenient lie or – even though a former US vice-president – he’s essentially clueless about his country’s military alert system.
Vice-presidential liar or vice-presidential doofus? Or both?
You be the judge.
Proving once again leftards continually elect the #2 for brains.
He’s just confirming what the rest of us have been saying for years: global warming is nothing to worry about.
BTW, Brian M, your comment made me snort. Well played, sir.
As noted above, since DEFCON 5 is effectively troops on vacation and the chairman of the joint chiefs gone fishing for the day, I have to say, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Not too sure where Mark Boslough stands, since his twitter account description has him as both a physicist and a sceptic.
But I did note his photo ‘waiting for de-icing at ABQ’. I was curious, so looked up ABQ which happens to be Albuquerque NM.
Definitely looks like a symptom of global warming.

He has a man crush on Al Gore. I think that clears up where he stands.
Skeptic? Maybe he is an existentialist.
I happened on to this article about Elon Musk’s nutty ideas about solar power. To say that Musk’s expectations about solar power are optimistic is very kind:

The forgotten man in all this EU/UN scam is “John Kerry” He has said that the next Presidential candidate will not be elected unless they support his historic “Carbon” world agreement… Nobel Prize ?
Wonder if this will play out in Philadelphia, dump Hillary for Kerry.. Burn that city down, Riot like Chicago….go out with a big bang…
It was Gore’s poster for An Inconvenient Truth that started my journey from global warming alarmist to full-on hard core skeptic.
The hurricanes on it were rotating in the wrong direction. *facepalm*
What did Mike Kinsley say is the definition of a “political gaffe”? Oh yeah . . . when a politician tells the truth.
Al – Defcon 5 for GW it is …
“Mark Boslough seems like a full fledged Nut Job.”
I’ll second that.
I agree with Al completely on this pronouncement.
“The DEFCON system was developed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and unified and specified combatant commands. It prescribes five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert) for the U.S. military. It increases in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military situations.”

“Vice-presidential liar or vice-presidential doofus? Or both?”
Both, I think.
Except, in either case, or both, very, very rich.
