  1. When watching the Russian gun -camera video I was not at all ashamed to yell “Hit ’em again!” at my video screen during each scene change. Good job, Ivan.

  2. “To reduce the risk of harming civilians, two F-15 warplanes dropped leaflets about an hour before the attack warning drivers to abandon their vehicles, and strafing runs were conducted to reinforce the message.”
Wouldn’t have dropping the leaflets before the attack have given the drivers a chance to move the trucks, or at least separated them so they weren’t concentrated in such a small space? Obama gave them a chance to escape and fight another day. That’s a Nobel Peace Prize winner for you!

Did you see all those innocent civilians hanging around those trucks. Me neither. But this way, the drivers will soon be back in new trucks moving the stolen oil around again. It’s a win-win.

  3. Me no unnerstan Muslim terrorist oil bizniz.
isis bring back home diesel? Sell to Turks?
Sell jet fuel for cheap to do nothing coalition?
Do Waron Buffet and Tides Foundation get cut too?

  4. Why are the trucks packed so closely together? I thought Daesh was under constant air attack. Surely they would have figured out by now to spread out. So what exactly has been bombed previously?

  5. “Wouldn’t have dropping the leaflets before the attack have given the drivers a chance to move the trucks, or at least separated them so they weren’t concentrated in such a small space?”
No. Because – assuming the drivers were indeed warned (and the lines of vehicles do look quite deserted) – the trucks would have been under constant observation.
Any attempt by drivers to move the trucks or separate them out would only have resulted in more immediate attack.

  6. I was listening to the Batchelor show last week and they were talking about some vital bridge in Raqqua that the Russkies went and blowed up. JB was all like – “um, shouldn’t that “vital” bridge have been blowed up by Commander-in-Chief JugeardsMcFoodstamp long ago?” They both laughed.

  7. News item:
French president Hollande plans to visit Obama then Putin to ask for support in fighting ISIS.
    Reaction from TV pundits:
Hollande is smart enough to know that he’ll likely get turned down to Obama, so he can go to somebody he can trust to help in the fight.
Anybody else notice that the US is toning down the Putin-is-evil Cold War rhetoric as it scrambles to regain some international credibility? No sense even commenting on our child leader.
I’m sure Obama agrees with Bernie Sanders, who claims global warming has caused international terrorism. Apparently, Sanders is unaware of 1400 years of Islamic expansion history and the self-declared goal of a caliphate declared by ISIS last year.
The previous caliphate was the Ottoman Empire, which was knocked out of commission after WWI.

  8. Wouldn’t the best message to send be, “If you drive these trucks, you die”? Why is the “Free” world pussyfooting around?

  9. I am no military expert, but would it not be more efficient to strafe the trucks with large caliber ammunition from an A10? Wasting laser guided bombs on such wide spread targets must be wasteful and time consuming.

  10. You’re not forgetting the guys who plotted to blow up the railway bridge in Canada, are you?

  11. Anyone who has ever viewed a video of what the Warthog is capable of would certainly agree. Flying leisurely by and delivering relatively low-cost destruction seems to make more sense than using high tech bombs. From what I’ve read, ISIS anti-aircraft capabilities would be unable to bring down even a slow-moving Warthog and even a lucky hit would probably not be enough to down the incredibly tough warplane.
However, the Warthog, although remarkably effective and economical, is absolete and has fallen out of favour with the U.S. military

  12. This is where those bomblet ‘packages’ are worth their weight in gold. 1/2 lb of explosive, but 100 of them, dropped over a field of oil tankers would be far more effective.

  13. As commentators at the RT story (and good job Putin) wonder why the US couldn~t do this in a year.
Probable answer is kow-towing to gulf Arab states and Turkey. Turkey is playing a double game here and trading the oil – just as it is trading the muslim invasion of Europe.

  14. In two years we’ll see video footage like that taken from Canadian Forces planes attacking targets in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

  15. The reason you will NEVER see Canada fly Warthogs…is because Quebec will not be able to build it at the Bombardier factories. This is the only reason you will never see the RCAF fly the Warthog.

  16. In two years there won’t be any targets IN Alberta and Saskatchewan after the policies of the provincial NDP and federal Liberals do their dirty work.

  17. The environuts have zero common sense or capacity for reasoned thought. They’re against the pipelines but for transporting oil by rail and roads which have the potential to spill and pollute. It’s alla bout Moe Strong’s dream to shut down all industrialized nations……except China where he hole up like the rat’s ass he is.

  18. I don’t think that ISIS has the ability to repair the wellheads if they were to be hit.
I guessing they aren’t being targeted for environmental reasons, the war on Climate Change having been repeatedly outlined as the real threat to mankind and all that nonsense.

  19. Ooh, look at those emissions, let’s get our carbon pricing calculator out.
Maybe the tankers & trucks were close together for ease of guarding. Nobody said ISIS soldiers were the sharpest knives in the drawer. Murderous hatred, self-pity and a sense of belonging to a criminal military organization only gets you so far in recruiting.
Speaking of the Warthog, yes this seemed like an operation for the Russian alternative: the Su-25 Grach, or Frogfoot in NATO-speak, currently operating in Syria:
    http://militaryedge.org/armaments/su-25/
The Su-25 and the A-10 compared, for all you military types:

  20. ISIS has made an effort to recruit technically capable people, so their capacities this year will be greater than their capacities last year etc.

  21. We have drone/spy satellite capability to bomb the wellheads while they are under repair by these technicians. It’s war. Considering how many techies from the west are needed to maintain Arab oilfields, I’m certain there is a threshold at which they will run out of the necessary expertise.

  22. “The reason you will NEVER see Canada fly Warthogs…is because Quebec will not be able to build it at the Bombardier factories.”
The reason you will never see Canada with Warthogs is they save Army lives while risking Air Force lives and that’s against the natural order. That’s the reason the US Air force wants to dump them.

  23. Obama said that america must lead the way on this so called Climate Change LIAR.LIAR PANTS ON FIRE can you just smell the burning jackass?

  24. Apparently Brad Wall has said tody he will make Saskatchewan the leader of renewable energy. How many politicians in how many countries say that and it all falls apart a la Spain).
His poison of choice is Solar. That’ll work well, Good-bye the Prairie farmland.

  25. hmmph.
that looks like a crater on the moon. howcum there’s fuel tankers on the moon? lol !!!
oh my. this posting just made my day.
don’t fcuk with the Russian military; they even fight dirty.
could be Paris will become the ISIS ‘jump the shark’ moment. we can hope so.
an absolute unending torrential rain of ordnance. that’s what’s called for. I care not a whit where it comes *from* as long as it lands in the laps of the death cultists.
martyr martyr, pants of fire. ya, and everything else for a 100 meter radius. and tune in tomorrow for more of the same muhamMAD.
    more than the measure. hallelujah.

  26. um, no scar. It’s because the “generals” have all turned into politicians. When doing a ‘case” study to maximize yer military bang for the buck, you do a probability assessment, and orient your $$$ to the most likely cause that is to arise. Generals don’t do they, they like the shiny stuff, like super stealth bombers, which are not likely to be used, mostly for political reason. The A-10, and Brazilian built A-29 (looks a lot like a P51) are excellent ground support units, but don’t have the flash and dazzle of an upgraded F-16. The generals think the of the F-16 as a multi-roll unit, which it really isn’t, the warthog is a limited roll unit that is damn effective at what it does, it’s just not a Christmas tree decoration

  27. The reason you will never see Canada fly Warthogs is simple.
Our military is far too tiny and we seem to have no great desire to equip it with a good spectrum of capabilities.

  28. The historic purpose of the Canadian military is as a support contingent to another Great Power which has a spectrum of capabilities.
That has been it’s role in every conflict in which it was engaged, starting with the Second Boer War, through the 1st and 2nd World Wars, Korea, and lastly the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan.
Having a full spectrum would imply the ability to project Canadian power independently, which the Canadian people and none of the Canadian politicians have ever had any interest in doing.
A part of the spectrum we should have, but don’t, is nuclear weapons.
We need them for the possible case that Canada needs to fight for it’s own defence when no one else is willing to step up and help us.
I hope that day may never come, but then I’ve seen many days come that I thought never would and yet have done already.

  29. I love that photo of the oil tank rail cars. in ontario they run day and night up to 150 cars per train. I made the observation that soon there will be a steady, unbroken stream of them heading both east and west, a pipeline on rails.

  30. Solar on the prairies? Think hail in summer. Think low angle, short daylight hours in winter, plus snow & ice coatings especially when it drops to -30 C. Daylight hours are currently 8.5 hours in Saskatoon. At least they’re “working hours” right now: 0837 to 1707. Follow the money. Who, which company & are they connected to politicos, elected or otherwise, past or present.
