Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

A rare change from the normal Liberal-NDP promo that goes on at CTV News Channel!!
Clearly D F S.
Steve Murphy, you gotta love him !
I too have spent like a drunken Sailor… I was a Sailor at the time.
I’m not worried.
He will surround himself with extraordinary people that will do extraordinary things, or something like that.
He is following Chretien’s election strategy, ‘promise them everything during the campaign, do what you want later’.
What an interviewer! I’ve never heard anything like that in Ontario. How come Steve hit him so hard? Isn’t everyone a Liberal in the Maritimes?
The problem with modern politics is that a clear set of facts can seemingly not be agreed upon. Given that supporters of different politicians draw their conclusions from a perception of different “facts”, is it any wonder that people can’t agree on anything anymore?
P.S. Of course Trudeau is pulling his “facts” out of his a$$ but his supporters will accept verbatim every last thing he says.
When some enterprising journalist gets off his or her arse end and finds out the F35 price will be less than the price for a Super Hornet (if they are still not over being built when we go to sign a contract on 2018) way less than for a Rafale anyway, way less tha for a typhoon, they might want ask Justine how spending more to buy less capable aircraft will be good for the RCAF.
Not quite Stephan Dion’s “I need a mulligan” interview but not far off either.
Including the Stephane Dion debacle, Liberals are just not ready for interviews with Steve Murphy.
What an actor… Jr. doesn’t have a clue, although he is well rehearsed in blathering talking points he is also well rehearsed in sticking to the script. Even so, he still doesn’t have a clue of what he’s saying.
Even if I was a liberal, I would not vote for Justin Trudeau; he sounds retarded ( for lack or a better word )
The F35s would cost less per year than the CBC does.
Justin doesn’t handle real questions very well, but he did fine in the ‘Dear old Dad, and Stephen Harper is a big meanie’ portion.
He’s had more practice with the softball questions and the tongue baths from reporters.
Don’t know much about geography
Don’t know much trigonometry
Don’t know much about algebra
Don’t know what a slide rule is for
But I do know one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be
First my kudos to this CTV interviewer – he breaks the mould.
Under continuous pressure to give a straight answer, and not be distracted by abstract yammering, this interviewer showed us just how confused the boy-king is in memorizing sales points and giving contradicting answers.
Takes a pretty rotten actor to forget his lines.
Pretty hair with a pretty smile and an empty skull underneath and behind both.
Wasn’t he raised when he his daddy was a star , and Maggie wonted to be his Queen? Ummmmmmm. Thought so.
I wonder if he’s sitting in the same chair Stephane Dion was.
Murphy to Trudeau at 7:58
“How much have you spent on new promises thus far ? You either know and won’t say, or you don’t know.”
Murphy to Trudeau at 9:45
“Do you have more revenue streams in mind that you have not announced yet ?”
Trudeau at 10:09
“We can talk again in 2 or 3 weeks, and I will be glad to highlight the elements in it.”
(Election is in 28 days)
Back when, I used to enjoy watching Toller Cranston skate – but I don’t recall him tripping on the ice every time he set foot on the rink.
Don’t you just want to gag when you hear the breathless lisp? What a MAN!
If you check out Trudeau’s comments on the military in an speech earlier in the day, he claims he will expand the Defence Departments acquisition branch, and a few breaths later states that he will reduce the size of the administration within Canada’s military. I have a news flash for him – the procurement branch is a large chunk of the Department of National Defence administration. Furthermore, the F-35 is about the same price, or cheaper than, any alternative fighter aircraft on the market today capable of providing Canada’s air defence, yet he plans to save “billions” by buying an alternative to the F-35. Unicorns and rainbows.
Please don’t make me watch the whole thing. Has someone seperate out the “greatest hits”?
This is very true. Trudeau is just the front man. For me, this is disturbing. I want to know who is responsible for running the country –who exactly is leading. Believe me, it would not be Trudeau should Libs get elected. I also suspect it is very easy to manipulate him — another reason to figure out who is pulling the strings.
Justin reminds me of another socialist princess from the past. Eva Peron would throw money out of her window to the peasants below just to ‘help’ them of course.
Hey don’t worry. If the Liberals get in and the F-35 is cancelled, there should be some old Sea King helicopters coming available as the new Sikorskys are introduced. Afer all, an Air Force flies, right? We can leave the details to the experts.
Holy moley, just look at that cheap, sleazy grin. What a putz.
And you guys are really thinking of putting this narcissistic, entitled dunce in the big chair?
Is no one paying attention to the Obama administration?
When you say “You guys” I don’t think that applies to anyone around here – as to the dunces elsewhere in the country, whot knows WHAT they’re capable of?
who, not whot.
The Canadian Bankers as is the norm will tell him who the finance minister will be.
The link goes to a story about an accident, even when I search in the website, the resulting link takes me to a story about an accident. Maybe ctv didn’t like how the interview made their star candidate sound so they buried it?
everyone considering voting for Trudeau should watch “The Candidate” starring Robert Redford when he was young. After a good looking and essentially decent young man (which, however much I despise JT’s policies, is a fair description of him) wins an election upset (thanks to his multiple handlers, teaching him what to say, how to respond, how to look etc.; again, a fair description of JT), the final scene shows Redford standing amongst the streamers and balloons and campaign signs, and wondering to his handlers “What now?!”.
I even googled it and can only find an interview done in 2013. Anyone have a working link to this interview?
Gerald Butts, Power Corp, Desmesrais, and the power brokers of the Laurentian Elite.
How can anyone possibly vote for this airhead? They must have terminal cases of HDS and then some autistic issues as well. 30% of confirmed voters want to trust this FLOWER CHILD as some kind of saviour.
Our own Obama crowd, how quaint!
If you click on the link, and scroll down the page, they have their list of all the different videos. Justin Trudeau’s interview is just above the Cape Breton accident
Beauty. Make a great ad backgrounder.
The Conservatives should be asking, “Who is the secret leader of the Liberal Party?” Justin is just a puppet, when he is off topic or thrown a curve it is just ridiculous the crap he says, the man has no deep knowledge or understanding of history or economics.
“…people remember my father and his values, and my mother…err…and her fight and strength.”
Hey Kevin – you have to look no further than the election of Nutley in Alberta to see an actual example of “The Candidate”! Nutley totally disappeared for 3 weeks following the election to get up to speed on the intricacies of being in power. She doesn’t run anything, she is a mere front(wo)man for the real power which has been contracted out to folks that fly in and out of the province on a weekly basis.
May God help us in the upcoming election. I fear we have learned nothing in the past months.
The Desmesrais family always has a horse in the race. chretien, martin, rae – these were all desmesrais men. Personally beholden.
jr. might not be to the same extent because he has his own money, but doesn’t have the smarts to know manipulation.
chretien cancelled the helicopters at what, a $50 million penalty – payable by the Canadian taxpayer….jr will pull the same stunt (F35’s) on the advice of uncle jean. If jr wins look for chretien to be back on the payroll.
Long, long ago a PM candidate promised to cancel an existing contract for the finest marine/Search & Rescue (SAR) helicopter ever, or since, developed. It was vastly superior to its alternatives, none of whom had the range to properly protect our frigates from submarine launched cruise missiles, along with its all but severe icing capability, best of breed avionics, three engine safety & cargo/payload capability.
So this guy got elected PM, cancelled it, and now 22 years later the navy still doesn’t have a proper chopper; and they aren’t getting one either. Then this same PM bought the same helicopter/airframe for SAR, well a civilian variant with inferior engines, pretending it was completely different from the SAR chopper he cancelled. It was still the best of what was available so he had no choice anyway.
Then he had purchased an already old design, obsolete chopper that had never been designed or used as a marine variant, whose capability is decisively inferior to the cancelled chopper, which incidentally is flying in many other navies right now and has been for years, and it’s still the best of breed.
He said then “it cost too much, it was a Cadillac.” Actually it was a police car, and he wanted to buy a Pinto. So he gave us a vastly inferior aircraft though at a higher cost. All economic spinoffs were lost and now the military has to deal with two different choppers for life cycle maintenance, upgrades and training.
If that’s the kind of “help” Trudeau has in store for our military, I say no thanks.
“but doesn’t have the smarts to know manipulation.” — Exactly. The old boys will be manipulating Justin to do their bidding and he is too stupid to realize that — as are some of the Canadian public actually thinking of voting Liberal.
In Nutley’s case I don’t even think it is Canadians steering the boat. Her entire platform was crafted from Agenda 21. She did not do that. Someone did it for her.
Regarding the C35, JT said in the interview that he would cancel the jets and use the money for ships. He was pretty clear in that. There’s no money budgeted to actually buy planes is there? Hasn’t the Government already budgeted money for shipbuilding several years ago? Aren’t the shipyards already at work on them? The PM said so today.
Maybe since JT was in Halifax for the interview he’d throw some unbudgeted money at them.
“Just not ready”. Pffffft. The CPC is being too kind with this guy.
Fifteen frigates are all planned and ready to be built 2018 to 2033 at Irving Shipyard in Halifax. I am not sure what Shiny Pony was talking about. My guess is that he has no clue it’s already under control.
Oops I used the wrong number. chretien’s cancellation of the helicopters in 1993 cost 500 million in penalties not the 50 million I suggested. Sorry for the error.
chretien deserves the proper credit.
Yes, that was just the cancellation penalty. A CO of 443 Sqn, whom I won’t name though he is no doubt retired by now, said the all in cost of cancellation cost was more like $1.5b.
Not sure where you heard frigates are going to be built anytime soon but that’s wrong. Our existing 12 frigates are in their mid-life refit program right now to get us through the next twenty years. The only ships waiting to be built at the moment are the two Queenston Class Joint Support Ships to replace our now retired Protecteur Class supply ships, and the five (at least) new DeWolf Class Arctic/Offshore Patrol vessels.
I’m no expert but:

Near the end of the interview Justin is asked about his business experience.
He replies that he was the chair of Katimivak with a budget of 20 mil.
20 million,200 billion, not the same thing.
Yeah,OK.
But what did he do as chair?
Likely the same thing as he is doing for the Liberal party, Looking pretty and spewing the pitch.
He did not have any business experience before Katimavik.
You don’t suddenly become the brains behind a $20 million business because you were a really good snowboard instructor.
Katimavik is a charitable organization that employs youth around the country during the summer months.
It is not a year round operation, there may be a month or two of start-up and wind-down and various events throughout the year.
That would fit JT’s work ethic to a T.
It was started by Papa Trudeau and a close family friend.
The man-child is a puppet, nothing more.
