Picked up at Ace of Spades;

NEVER CAVE IN TO TO SOCIAL MEDIA MOB.
His problem is that he cringed, and resigned.
He should not have, THe whole thing would have blown over in 36 hours.
It shocks me that not everyone knows this.
The social media mob is actually completely powerless.
They only acquire “power” when other people do to mob’s bidding.
The mob itself can’t get anyone fired. All they can do is TRICK people into thinking the mob has power, and then those people will do what the mob demands.
A good metaphor is this:
A man who has no gun approaches two people. He sticks his hand in his coat pocket, makes a guns shape with his finger, points it at the two people, and says, “I have a gun — do what I say!”
In fear, they raise their hands and obey him.
The man pretending to have a gun then orders one of his victims to go get a real gun. He does so. Then the man pretending to have a gun orders the first guy to shoot the second guy dead. And threatens to kill the first guy (with his pretend-gun) if he does not obey the command.
So the first guy shoots and kills the second guy.
The man pretending to have a gun then runs away.
Question: Did the man pretending to have a gun actually shoot the victim? No. He tricked someone else to do his bidding for him.
is he responsible for the crime? Yes. But in reality he did not have the physical power to commit the crime. He used deceit to trick others into committing the crime for him.
That is what happens 95% of the time with social media mobs. They get bosses and organizations to kill their employees. Or get people to commit career suicide. Despite the mobs itself being completely powerless in physical reality.

  1. The rot runs much deeper than shouters- see US organization Ceres.
A group originally set up to respond to the Valdez oil spill, morphs into a political sledgehammer.

  2. Ace asks “Why do we ever give these unaccomplished, envious, grasping monsters any credence at all?”
Answer: Because they are the useful idiots who repeat the narrative they’ve been schooled to espouse. They are therefore inherently credible, inconvenient facts be damned.

  3. The truth expressed in that entry is a concept which cannot be expressed in 140 characters, which is the primary reason SM “mobs” are powerless, stupid and will never evolve beyond a media for unintelligent people with the attention span of an ant and the social relevance about the same.

  4. AR said it very well:
He was seeing the enormity of the smallness of the enemy who was destroying the world. He felt as if, after a journey of years through a landscape of devastation, past the ruins of great factories, the wrecks of powerful engines, the bodies of invincible men, he had come upon the despoiler, expecting to find a giant—and had found a rat eager to scurry for cover at the first sound of a human step. If this is what has beaten us, he thought, the guilt is ours.

  5. zombie, the author of that comment, is one of the most keen observers we have of the craziness that is Leftism, and a very articulate writer, too. zombie is famous for getting in the belly of the Beast, and photographing the various nuts up close and personal.

  6. Zombie has a good idea. So how do we get this advice into the hands of the next victim of a Twitter mob?
Storming of brains solicited. A bot that permalinks to Zombie’s comment whenever triggered by certain words on Twitter?
If we can stiffen people’s spines, the mob will lose.

  7. It is the behavior of a coward when they fail to defend themselves by curling up in total submission. The day when a challenge was met with a fist, driving their teeth out an ear hole.. is just to manly..
The average North American is a coward.. If they call you a bigot it does not mean you are the best dam bigot on the planet. The person making the claim is a bigger slimy bigot.
