  1. Oddly, Warren Kinsella said it best.
Just as Iggy was “Just visiting”, so too is JT “Just visiting the middle class”.

  2. …and THAT gentle readers is “progressive” dogma in a nutshell!
According to them, “fair” is not equal, “fair” is pandering to those whom THEY deem worthy!

  3. I think we will see this clip again. Going off script – the guy with the hair simply can’t do it.

  4. The guy writes his own attack ads. Anyway this little exchange is basically the election question. Do you like your tax cuts? If you do you know what to do.

  5. So I am going to channel Pontius Pilate: What is fair, Justin? If you can’t give me a hard list of what constitutes fair, then stop talking like you know what it means. Is it one LED TV per household, and if so, what size? Is it a guaranteed income and if so, how much? Is it school breakfasts and lunches regardless of income? What is fair?
Or should it be fairness in opportunity so that everyone goes to university regardless of whether they have the brains for it?
Fair is such a meaningless word that an old phrase comes to mind: Life is not fair and you can’t make it fair no matter what you do because humans have free will and lots of them make really stupid decisions from time to time.
Grow up, Justin. You don’t have what it takes to be Prime Minister.

  6. When I listen to Monsieur Trudeau babble on I am brought to mind of the following observation…..”The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

  7. This will make an even better attack ad than the “budget will balance itself” bit. Keep talking shiny Pony, keep talking.

  8. Hey Kids! – let’s all get out our Liberal space cadet secret decoder rings and find the secret meaning in Commander Turdo’s message,
Hmmmm, turn the bezel left, then left again, Left, Left and left – Ah-ha it seems “fairness” is secret liberal space cadet code for increased taxation of the middle class – wonder what that means fellow cadets?

  9. Brilliant! The economist vs. the drama teacher. Go Harper. And the PM is correct, the Conservative tax plan is far better than anything else on offer.

  10. “Substitute drama teacher” is akin to being the “Temporary Relief Assistant Trailer Park Supervisor”.

  11. Chretien was much better than Shiny Pony when it comes to shoveling the Liberal Party’s always
used vote whoring meme, “We are going to lower your taxes by raising taxes on the rich”.
And just like lemmings heading for the cliff, the gullible race to be first to sign up.

  12. Coming soon to Alberta is a “sustainable development expert” that will sit on the royalty review board and decide the provinces future. If this PM thing doesn’t work out for Justin, maybe he could do this instead. It sounds right up his alley of a made up position for a made up person.

  13. When I watch Harper I see everything Gandhi tried to be, the greatest Global Statesman of the Year – Go Stephan Harper!

  14. Oh father if only you were here to guide me thru this land mine field called life. I’d ask my mommy but she’s just bat sh t craaaaaaaaazy. To be fair I will tax WESTERN Canada into poverty so the we we Quebec can continue as is.

  15. I can see the backbenchers behind turdo nodding with their “approval” as their jaws drop to the floor in astonishment.
I’m not a big fan of Stevie, but Bulls-eye, Harper!
Make no mistake. Trudeau’s a communist. This ranks right up their with the China comment, the budget balancing itself comment, and who can forget the infamous “It’s not their money, it’s THE GOVERNMENT’S money!
    CBC will bury in 3… 2… 1…..

  16. Ya know I’ve watched both Keith and Mick and neither is a dim bulb like this guy. You sure one of ’em is the progenitor? I guess he coulda got his brain from his ma…….or maybe it was Ozzie who sired this colt? Kinda looks like him.
He had to resort to quoting the vulgarian PET at the press dinner the other night. Couldn’t come up with enough appropriately arranged 4 dollar words on his own to entertain the presstitutes.

  17. In the infamous words of another lesser Liberal ” Dats not fair, dats not fair “.
Justin is not getting it done either.

  18. I like that over at GLOBAl’s website the headline reads that the leaders ‘traded barbs’. Hardly. Mr Trudeau was skewered and showed his true colours (once again).

  19. Mr Trudeau continues to fail to realize his “Canadian middle class” comments do not resonate, simply because people know there isn’t permanence of income levels, which would be indicative of “class.” Canadians are not stuck in “poverty” for instance, fully 9/10 don’t stay there. Middle income earners don’t think they’re in “crisis” either. Voters will judge the programs offered by the parties – the Grits tweak the Tory plan but manage to spend $2B/yr more doing it, according to their uncosted numbers – by their personal situations and not out of some envious calculation of how the “rich” are benefiting.
The NDP proposes to float a ridiculously undercosted national day care program; now Trudeau has added $2B more to his fiscal hole (every year BTW) with his day care (Grit Groundhog Day) remix. Add that to the economists’ estimates his increase in tax rates will yield only at best 1/2 half their revenue projections, which wrongly assume Canadians will just pay up. That’s $1B/yr more, for a total of $5B/yr, assuming the Grit “costing” is accurate. Hint: it likely isn’t given they don’t know their numbers because they want to “get back to us” on that
How low does the “rich” bar have to be set to pay for Grit largesse? Is it wealthy or well or comfortable, or making more than $90,000/yr family income? Does he not realize the provinces have already drained the “soak the rich” well dry?
Why didn’t Mr Trudeau drop the lowest tax rate instead of the 2nd? Why does he insist the Tory Family Tax Cut only goes to “wealthier” or is it “better off” Canadians, when he should know this is demonstrably incorrect? Why does he attack TFSAs that Canadians in all income groups are using? Why does he dismiss the beneficiaries of the Tory tax plans when they are the VERY SAME people as his proposals? Why is a tax measure that starts being clawed back (with UCCB now means tested) starting at $45,000 individual annual income good for “Middle Class Canadians?” Why does Mr Trudeau think it’s OK to set top marginal rates, again, over 50%, with New Brunswick coming at 58% if his proposals are implemented, when economists time and time again speak of the psychological effect (translation: diving marginal tax revenues) and disincentives associated with marginal tax rates over 50%.
Answer: he hasn’t got a clue, evidenced by “benefiting every single family isn’t what’s fair” and “budgets balance themselves” remarks. His comments about a national emissions program, equating it with universal healthcare, further erode his declining credibility. Now the Grits last pillar of control of the message, the mediocracy control of the election debates, is gone too.
Why does he think he can get away with getting the provinces to do the dirty work/heavy lifting for his carbon tax/cap & trade/national emissions program? Answer: see above.
Dion and Ignatieff both had a better chance than this intellectual lightweight with his emotional and superficial view of the issues that face Canadians, once again wanting to decide for us what is “best” for us. Tax & spend policies which at the margins further push more people into poverty, with “carbon pricing” and skyrocketing electricity costs, is the real point of “crisis” Canadians face.
Trudeau has no problem screwing everybody, rich and poor, for his mythical “Middle Class” vote gambit. Luckily this guy will be DOA with the voters in the poll that really counts, which will undoubtedly leave his party, again, in third place.

  20. PPG is on that as we speak Occam.
Manbridge (is he still on?) will dutifully present the analysis.
    News at 11.

  21. Trudeau is no Disraeli or Churchill, nor even a Pompidou or Levesque, just his own silly little man playing a grownup’s role.
His fan club is shrinking as he shoves his foot in his big mouth almost daily.
And no, he isn’t Jagger or Richards’ kid, they have talent and the smarts to make billions in the entertainment business, while JT was a part-time drama teacher who couldn’t catch a tune with a net.

  22. If anyone but harper get’s into office i will seriously look at moving to either austrailia or the usa and i know how bad both are.

  23. I think he’s probably a Trudeau; the nose looks about right. BTW in what way was PET smart? He had read many books and had a lot of education but I always thought his grasp of the issues was rather shallow. Remember how he mused about the end of the market economy? He was a smart politician I’ll give him that but the son seems entirely without political smarts of any kind.

  24. I’ve never forgotten the image of his father giving the finger to Western Canada from the back of a train. That typified the eastern liberal elitist mindset and convinced my I would never ever vote for the self righteous deluded bast**ds.
Acorns don’t fall far from the tree and if I remember my biology an acorn is a fruit or nut, certainly Justine exhibits the behavior of a “fruit and a nut case”.

  25. Is he a pedicure: He certainly likes putting his foot in his mouth. LOL

  26. PM to page, “Please deliver this silver platter to M Trudeau and be careful – it has his ass on it.”

  27. The whole fallacy of Liberals and NDP Bolsheviks is that taxing the rich doesn’t generate much coin because there are so few rich. To really get into tax and spend mode, you have to tax the middle class.
What is really interesting is that, in Alberta, the Wildrose Party said we are the only Party that has not promised to raise taxes. They got something like % of the vote. But some of them don’t like queer kiddy clubs in school where they are taught anal sex. They are truly dangerous.

  28. I’ve noticed a few snarky remarks from the great strategist Kinsella re Shiny Pony 🙂

  29. Trudeau: if you like your tax cuts, you cannot keep your tax cuts.

  30. Don’t worry, the Red Star, CBC, Globe & Mail, Macleans, Montreal Gazette, etc. can be expected to hold up his pants in public. le Devoir, Le Sun etc. not so much.

  31. Far too complex for Justin. He needs a job where he can emote about whatever …

  32. Shamrock – in order for the tax break to benefit a Canadian family, they had to be in different tax brackets. Which meant, realistically, that the higher income earner had to have a taxable income of over $43,953. If the higher income earner is below that amount, then both parents are in the same tax bracket. Even if one parent has no income, the income transfer would merely reduce the spousal amount being claimed on the S1, and there would be no net benefit to the family.
However, as no lefties will say, lower income families do get extra benefits. Most noteworthy is the Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) which is tax-free and calculated based on family income as reported on the prior year T1 (and both parents MUST file or it is cut off; unless, of course, there is a single-parent family situation). Up to family net income (line 236) of $26,021.00, a one-child family gets $312.50 while a three-child family gets $894.08 PER MONTH and NON-TAXABLE. The monthly amounts decrease with increasing family net income, with the cut-off at over $110,000 for one child and over $150,000 for three children (rates based on 2014 tax returns). Alberta is somewhat different, with rates varying by age of the child. Also, provinces have their own supplements – again non-taxable – which give lower-income families extra money.

  33. Ah, yes, the “Salmon Arm salute”. Given because Westerners objected to his taking the boys on vacation ON OUR DIME.

  34. he wasn’t intelligent , he was rich and arrogant. The rich can fake anything.

  35. Thanks Justine. I’ve finally figured out the Liberal Party 2015 campaign slogan:
“VOTE LIBERAL! WE’LL SCREW THE OTHER GUY AND PASS THOSE SAVINGS ON TO YOU!”

  36. I’m perplexed: Why does JT use the translation ear piece? Isn’t he the perfect little Trudeau-canadian, perfectly bilingual?

  37. To be honest Trudeau is right… Tax credits aren’t fair!
This hopelessly unconservative government is a sham. How is taking our money and then giving it back to us through targeted tax credits any different than the tax and spend liberals.
I work 60 hours a week, take care of myself, have no dependants, and I end up paying for your spoiled kids to go to summer camp. I know, it’s selfish of me, but I hate kids, don’t want em, and still pay $50,000 a year for services I don’t use and tax credits I can’t claim.
About once every 3 months I do the math and figure out I could drop everything, move to southeast Asia, and retire at the age of 28. The thought of abandoning 30 prime years of earnings scares me, but one of these days the thought of starving Canada by just leaving will be too enticing to resist.
Anyone who supports the Conservatives in this country is a hypocrite in my books.l

  38. Mr Reverse Midas Touch was rejected to run in the riding nomination by his beloved Liberal party for whom he has spun the truth for princely sums.
Bozo has made one right decision so far and that was to judge Winkie, the wanna be punk,to be more toxic than both Adams and Blair.
Now wandering in the political wilderness with only a sprinkling of crumbs from the Wynne regime(he supported Pupatello)he has turned into a bitter, depressed hipster.

  39. James, unfortunately politics is frequently (mostly) a series of un-pleasant choices. Choose the lesser of two evils, unless you prefer a bigger tax bill.

  40. Lest anyone forget, the Lieberals are the same party who proposed the Universal Childcare Program and absolutely insisted on no means test … just like in Quebec. You thus have low and middle earners subsidizing rich mothers who insist upon plopping their kids in daycare.
