A good week to recall Khomeini's time in France as a "refugee" from the Iran of the 1970's #FullCircleIslam pic.twitter.com/Am7OjmNHBH

And as the smoke clears from the first two, another hostage taking at a French jewelry store. (Update – appears to be unrelated.)

I’m old enough to remember our news media treating Khomeini in France as a kindly old holy man, lover of the Iranian people, driven from his home by the evil Iranian regime…
The French cops are responding properly so far, no hostage negotiators, just a swift attack and kill the Muslim terrorists who are being called “gunmen” in the media.
There’s nothing like dead terrorists to restore public confidence.
I had Iranian room mates at the U of R in the mid 70s (all former Shah Guard)who pointed out the resident SAVAK informant to me and said they had to be careful about who they spoke to so their wealthy family members wouldn’t be murdered at home. La plus ca change.
So what are the Europeans gping to do about the “no go”zones?
Now that the Muslim terrorists have been taken out I think it only fitting that their heads be put on display on oversized pencil pikes along the Champs de Elysee.
“……….no hostage negotiators,…….”
Au contraire:
They are deployed enmass…..with FAMAS…..
This was his Jesus freak period, right after the Napoleon thing.
and now……………………………
Appears to be unrelated.
They’re ALL related. Every one.
Kevin, how could you even think such a revolting thing? You forgot that their bodies should be displayed alongside sitting on another oversized pencil, lubed with bacon grease.
I’m not familiar with the people in the picture…who are they?
There’s more pictures from the swinging Seventies in Iran:

And this picture of a certain past dictator:

Heads on over-sized pencils? How French Revolutionary!
Appears to be unrelated.
If ragheads are involved, it’s related.
Damn.
If I have to read or listen to the word Islamophobia one more time, I’ll…I’ll…come to SDA to rant.
Latest was from the Toronto Star, with a Video from some overweight, pasty, pajama-boy type advising that we must not draw conclusions that will lead to unfortunate outcomes for religious minorities.
Question: Did our soldiers from WWII suffer from NaziPhobia or NipponPhobia as they went on to crush our enemies? If so, then I guess Islamaphobia is the correct word to describe how I feel about this issue.
Isn’t that him in the red jacket?
And the bumbling incomptence of that little pinhead Jimmy Carter
Zip.
I don’t want to wring too much out of this but Pol Pot was a student in France where he said he wanted to return to Cambodia and create the “perfect democracy.” And that turned out well like sending that rat Khomeini back to Iran. He was one odd duck, he said by way of understatement. I might write a book but I wouldn’t include in it specific direction on how to stand where you urinate.
The Brits harbored Karl Marx. Maybe the takeaway lesson here is to require other countries to educate and shelter their own citizens. We’ve given ourselves a big pat on the back for being open minded and all but it’s time we took another look at this whole foreigner thingy.
Senator Feinstein recently submitted a report to Congress on US Interrogation of prisoners at Guantanamo (water Boarding) she thinks we are guilty of torture. Interesting that one of the Paris terrorists was influenced by Television reporting. Did Feinstein’s report play a role, or will it in the future
The question for Senator Feinstein in buried in the past. What was the advice she gave to Harvey Milk/ Moscone just before they were murdered by the former police chief. Yes! Feinstein was directly involved and became mayor. What was her relationship to Jim Jones (Jonestown) the Communist involved in the same circle of her friends.
There are serious consequences for acts by stupid people
This is from an interesting article by David B. Goldman:
–France now faces an existential dilemma. By most independent estimates France now has a Muslim population of 6 million, or almost 10% of its 65 million people. If we assume that just 1% of this population are radicalized to the point of engaging in or providing support for terrorist activities, that is a pool of 60,000 individuals. We are not speaking of 60,000 potential bombers or shooters, but a support network that will allow a much smaller number of terrorists to blend into the broader population. In the “no-go” zones of France now effectively ruled by Muslim gangs, moreover, the terrorists can intimidate the Muslim population. France already has lost the capacity to police part of its territory, which means that it cannot conduct effective counter-terror operations.
To put that number in context, the whole prison population of France is less than 70,000, of whom 60% are Muslims.–

I can’t recall the Japanese people taking up arms in the last 50 years since a couple of nukes were fed to them for super. Now, this case may be a little different, a larger number of nukes, lets say 20 may need to be delivered to numerous countries. A time will come in the future that this option will be the only logical response to an attack by people that think and believe that there GOD says to kill people like you and I.
Heh, is he the Disco Stu guy the others are shunning?

I just received an e-mail showing a variety of ‘then and now’ scenes from a number of ME countries. In the 50’s through the 70’s many of them – Iran, Egypt and even Afghanistan were quite urbane, westernized and sophisticated, at least in their cities. Women attended universities in dresses and skirts while young men were wearing bell bottom jeans.
The kicker though, was the scene of a French market of the era, full of typical French middle class shoppers. The updated scene showed a similar French market with the shoppers all in niqabs and shamiz trousers.
Incidentally, a few years back I rented a home to an architect from Tehran who was the most gracious, friendly and sophisticated individual imaginable. And his daughter was a Persian princess! He had to flee the country when Khommeni took over as he was a prominent member of the Bahai faith and would have been killed.
