  1. Meh. They said the same thing about Japan a few decades ago.
China is going down the same demographic hole that Japan is only faster due to their one child policy. Meanwhile the Chinese are putting English on the sides of their coast guard vessels. Who’s colonizing who?
The country to watch – and not in a bad way – is India. A growing population, parliamentary democracy and free markets backed by Real laws. And they speak English.

  2. How much of this investment is the newly rich Chinese preparing a bolt-hole for their families?
The Maoists are making a comeback. The Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution both occurred within living memory. I’d hedge my bets if I was a Chinese Entrepeneur with the means to do so.

  3. I’m just amused that reality may be catching up to Joss Whedon (whose politics I vehemently disagree with). Anyone who was a fan of Firefly knows of what I speak.

  4. I’m sure the TPP will make things way better…not. Perhaps it is time to reconsider some of the global free trade agreements. I’m not against trade, but in Canada we even have rules for interprovincial trade to try and avoid the old mercantilist dogma of “beggar thy neighbor”.
Maybe you should call John Manley and ask what the Canadian Council of CEOs has to say.

  5. Who cares the liberal have messed up the western world big time …. let the Chinese take it over and sort it all out. I am old, I will be dead, I do not care about what happens after I am gone because it doesn’t concern me … because I will be in heaven or where ever I was before I was born.

  6. On a positive note – The takover of China would put an end to Islamic immigration and any “Aboriginal” issues.
    “Civil Rights” pleeeeze.
    Just say’n.

  7. If this turns out to be not a problem, that won’t be for the same reasons “Japan colonizing the U.S.” didn’ happen. Because there are significant differences between China and Japan.

  8. I remember when the Japanese were buying everything in sight as well. I some how doubt the Chinese are buying up Moscow.
Since the whole world is broke, including the Chinese, the sale prices being received are hugely inflated. Who will get the last laugh?

  9. Yes you’re right the Chinese would fix our Muslim and Injun challenges in exchange for a dictatorship. Would we be better off?

  10. Mehh, the next war will reset everything and wipe out any debts. War is always good for the winners (millions dead notwithstanding). Full employment, patriotism, entitlement resets, Obamacare eliminated, pork barrels refilled and finally a leader with balls (or chest hair, if female). Think of the other benefits. No more obesity, you can ride your bike without those stupid helmets, no more bitching about second hand smoke, buy lawn darts again, no coddling our weenie children, lefty professors will be in the fields competing with Mexicans and feminism will disappear immediately along with white privilege,”I can’t breathe” and “Hands up don’t shoot”. It’s a small price to pay if we ever want to regain a semblance of the sanity many of us remember from a couple of generations ago. Bring it on.
