    Gruber epitomizes our liberal “betters” and don’t ever doubt for a moment the only thing he’s sorry about is his remarks going viral on the internet. He meant every word he said.
    I have to ask, what “stupid” person made the remarks,who was stupid enough to make them in a public venue?

    Well, the spin doctors earned their pay. Given that Cummings whipped him appropriately as gifting a PR talking point the Dems won the round honestly. If only there was some substantiation that showed his statements were reflective of what he had heard others say, or that he was a directing mind on how it was written.
    Gruber had been through this before in Mass…..he actually knew what he was talking about, you cant cover the uninsured without increasing costs to the isnured which is what this is about.

I say, never trust someone who has never been punched in the face. Gruber, Obama et al, are these people. His first shot at honourable verbal combat, and he shits the bed and his pants. He may feel noble trying to protect obama, but his time is not over yet, Herr Gruber and his behaviour still has miles to go, and those miles lead to the Supreme Court.

    I think Gowdy spent too much time on the “inappropriateness” of the comments and the apology. No apology was necessary, unless to apologize for Obamacare.
    We all know that the comments that Gruber made were extremely appropriate and true, if hurtful to Obamacare.

Letting this creep speak from that platform is to have traded half a dozen tapes of his candid boasts about of the fraud perpetrated by the admin. against US citizens and against other branches and offices of the government, like the CBO, for an over-lawyered set of lies. Where’s the advantage in that? What’s the gain?
    Instead, they should have played the various tapes, and at each significant statement, stopped the tape and asked Gruber whether that was he boasting about the fraud.

    Because he makes it blindingly obvious that he is a creep and that his apologies are a pretense.
    Of course the Democrat spinners will say he has apologized and move on, but everyone who saw it will have seen not Republican spinners describing him as a creep and his apologies as a pretense, they’ll have seen him demonstrate it himself with his own words and his own demeanor.

  29. Gruber is the epitome of liberal progressive thinking about their fellow citizens. Hence, here in Canada, the Liberals think that they are the natural governing party of Canada and that it is a grave error for Canadians to elect anyone right of center.
    In this video I was looking for Goudy or Issa to connect the prominence of Gruber in the Obamacare implementation process and to suggest that the whole program was based on a lie.

  30. Gruber’s “apologies” succeeded. He gave no useful testimony which would have shed light on the Democrat conspiracy to force government healthcare, under false pretenses, on the American people.
    If Gruber’s sort of ‘non-answer apologies’ to direct questions is allowed to stand, there is no point in having any sort of inquisitorial investigation by Congress in the future.

    This Congress is the Republicans last chance . They either make real changes, including forcing a re-write of this inhumane law down the left’s throat, or they will disappear.

    I believe it. There’s a lot of very insecure people with PhD after their names.
    The implication behind his repeated excuse – that saying those things in front of that crowd would make him appear smarter than he actually is – is a fascinating glimpse into the top tiers of academia.

  43. I may be just that kind of nerd, but I watched the entire 4 hours of testimony because I found it so riveting. Gruber’s professional and hopefully, his personal reputation is in tatters. However, it remains to be seen whether the US voter will pay attention to the devastating nature of the testimony. Gruber and to a lesser degree Tavenner, in effect took the 5th on much of the questioning.
    Gruber defaulted over and over to the boilerplate phrases pre-rehearsed with his counsel. The effect of the questioning was such that they both revealed themselves as either liars or incompetents and they clearly are not the latter.
    Given that Gruber has been abandoned by Obama as ‘just another advisor’, it would be very interesting to know why Gruber is in full protection mode at the expense of his own professional future. Or perhaps I’m naïve and his career at MIT will go on as usual with his students accepting that his lies and obfuscation to the American public was for the public good.

    PhD’s generally come across as naïve and stupid but actually they are just unworldly and sheltered.
    I have noted they are fiercely loyal to their resource people….eg auto mechanics and gardeners….perhaps in awe of those elements pragmatic critic thinking.

  45. As much as I love to see a pretentious, smug academic get a good smackdown, Gruber was getting such a verbal spanking that I almost felt sorry for him. Almost. Issa’s brief comment at the end was perfect.
    Bad behaviour always has consequences. I sincerely hope that Gruber’s career and reputation have been flushed down the toilet and he has to get a real job. You know … a job like millions of other “stupid” Americans.
