  1. That is some sloppy reporting. Were those Ginsu steak knives? next to an assortment of Sham Wow towels personally autographed by Vince Shlomo?

  2. The Delacourt imperative is to construct a sympathetic narrative that can be sold to the public as “journalism”
That this narrative is not based on facts, is an invention, a fairytale is not material to a LPC/Trudeau supporter. As long as this invented narrative promotes the Trudeau version of an Obama style Hopey-Changey election campaign, it is considered to be intellectually honest and fair.
Drink the TorStar/Progressive Kool Aide long enough and the addiction takes over, common sense and honesty fade away and you actually start to believe a dullard like Justin is to Canada what Obama was to the USA . . . a new Messiah.
But you would think Delacourt, as a journalist who should still have even a whiff of intellectual curiosity, should be demanding her boy Justin should explain on detail how budgets balance themselves.

  3. The police have closed the case, no charges laid. If Delacourt and her Liberal shills were smart they’d STFU instead of adding to the suspicions so many people about the shady event.

  4. Why is she even considered a journalist? She is clearly a Liberal party mouthpiece / operative with zero objectivity / Not a journalist

  5. The police have to close the case. No one wants to upset the possible next PM by causing his brother,Sasha, to get a criminal record and have limitations placed on his international travel. That would hinder all the humanitarian work he does in places like Iran.

  6. I’d really like to know more about this story, and hope some of the more reputable journalists in the country do some digging.
If we accept the ‘drunk wanders into wrong house’ narrative, I want to know not necessarily the identity of the “prowler” but at least that he is not connected to the Liberal party. Why were charges dropped? Is he politically connected? Has he, or his family, been a major donor to the Liberals? Surely, given the neighbourhood and surveillance video footage, even amateur local sleuths should be able to figure this out.
More importantly, (and perhaps here I betray my mistrust of the media) I suspect this was spin that backfired. The story begins as a threat to Trudeau, followed by stories about our PM denying him a protective detail. The next stages, naturally, would be media criticism of the “tone” of the Tory anti-Trudeau ads (which naturally were the root cause of the incident) followed by the networks then having a further flimsy justification for not airing Conservative/NDP attack ads centering on Trudeau.

  7. If the really drunk intruder, known but unnamed, hadn’t left a note on top of knives to add a danger/threatening element to the “story”, we’d have no story, no one would have known he was in the house. Big question and key to the whole thing is what was the purpose of the note if not to cause this big story? If Trudeau wants more security he can afford it himself or he can demand his party pay for it, he’s not the PM and hopefully never will be.
Also the unnamed intruder had some pretty clear thinking for a drunk to write a note about locking doors and arranging knives to place it on.
Maybe Delacourt will be calling for a national inquiry on the matter, as a Liberal she’s probably very concerned. She does write books, I believe she wrote one about failed PM Paul Martin so maybe she can do the same for Justin and include this episode as part of the book to help fill the pages.
If you love mysteries, this is one that may never be solved to protect the guilty.

  8. When you have a slow summer, just make stuff up. Delacourt mastered the art long ago. What it shows is that she can’t talk about much else about Shiny Pony as it would be too embarrassing.

  9. So, now that it turns out that the “threat” to the leader of the third party was only a local “mistake” and really is so low that his wife didn’t even contemplate that one of the neighbourhood drunks could stumble in by mistake through an un-latched back door, can we back-track on the issue of providing official security, paid for by the tax-payer, for every Tom, Dick and Justin whose supporters think needs one? Oh, and an examination of how grandiose the crowd that precedes, accompanies and follows the PM would not be our of order either. This is all about the illusion of importance, nothing more; real security is, as a former cabinet member of the third party has rightly opined, invisible.
If the third party thinks that their leader and his family are incapable of looking after themselves, they might contemplate paying for whatever they think is appropriate from party funds, but please leave the rest of us out of it.

  10. That SOB better not lay a finger on one tiny little hair of the “disenfranchised youth” the next time he comes in!
Turdeau better offer him a beer and a share in some of his household wealth, or be ARRESTED!

  11. Even the lady reporter on the CBC News couldn’t keep from smirking as she read the report. I thought she was going to burst out laughing! I never heard whether the drunk actually has a friend in the area to make his story plausible.

  12. Maybe the Shiny Pony will strike up a game with the intruder; throwing steak knives at a family member, chosen at random, affixed to a rotating back board.
What could possibly go wrong? The public will just lap it up…
This should give ‘media circus’ emphatic and new meaning.

  13. Yes, I too would like Delacourt to name her source. And I’d like the Ottawa police to tell us the full story, since apparently no crime was committed – it was all just a funny mix-up. The drunk should at least be identified… unless of course there’s a political (Liberal) reason not to name him.

  14. Questions:
Did Delacourt see the note warning Trudeaus to lock their doors?
Who other than Mrs. Trudeau and the Ottawa police has seen the note warning Trudeaus to lock their doors?
Did the drunk’s friend confirm the story told to the Ottawa police?

  15. Since the police have a handwritten note, did they even bother to conduct an analysis on the note to check if the finger prints match those of the ‘drunk teenager” or if the writing style is the same?

  16. Have to ask….
Do opposition politicians in the communist dictatorship china that whats-his-name admires so highly, lock their doors at night?
Or do the prison guards take care of that?

  17. The bottom line remains the same, no matter how the story is spun.
Trudeau and his wife were negligent in providing one of the most basic needs of their children, SECURITY.
    The Criminal Code of Canada;
    214.
    (a) a wilful omission to take charge of a child by a person who is under a legal duty to do so, and
    (b) dealing with a child in a manner that is likely to leave that child exposed to risk without protection;
    215. (1) Every one is under a legal duty
    (a) as a parent, foster parent, guardian or head of a family, to provide necessaries of life for a child under the age of sixteen years;
I think that a public inquiry is essential, and charges laid.

  18. Justin: I need to be taken seriously.
Sasha: Well if we stage a break in at your house we can blame the Cons and get you a whole bunch of serious.
Justin: Great Idea. I’ll get police protection just like the big boys and everyone will take me serious.
Who do you think we could trust?
Sasha: Hmmmmmmmm I know I’ll do it. You make sure the door is unlocked and the surveillance cameras are off.
Justin: Yeah Yeah good idea. I’ll be out of town so make sure Sophie knows about it.
    Sasha: No problem.
Sophie: How the heck do I turn off the camera again.
Justin: Sasha they got you on camera!
Sasha: Oh crap quick find some dweeb to take the fall!
Justin: Found him but he wants $1000.00. Oh and I have an in with the cops so I’m pretty sure we can dodge this one.
    Sasha: Phhewww!

  19. Pretty much…except I doubt it was planned.
The “Sacha look-alike” was unsteady, probably decided to crash at bro’s for the night, called bro’s cell, no answer, checked the back door, and left the ‘nasty’ note as a sibling prank. The homeowners were probably embarrassed by their over-reaction. Hence the search begins for a hungry, cash strapped 19 year old.
Is there actually a name and face for this 19 year old?

  20. Because “a Liberal party mouthpiece / operative with zero objectivity ” is a journalist.

  21. When people like Justin Trudeau don’t have the common sense to lock their doors at night, how and why should we be held responsible, and expected to pay for their personal protection.
Does it take some drunk who “left a note near the knives, warning the family to lock their doors” to educate Justin ( although it would be much cheaper than a national enquiry) as to how he could protect he and his family?
It appears that it may be that the “root cause” ( since Trudeau wants to get to root causes) of some criminal acts committed on people, are because people have not taken personal responsibility and used some common sense.
Would Trudeau’s enquiry be composed of a collection of drunks since he has learned now that they are smarter than he is?
They certainly would be a lot cheaper ( and maybe wiser) than $800 an hour lawyers and professionals.
Is personal responsibility not one of the biggest answers for our problems, and we don’t need national enquires to tell us that, but we should start action on this today?

  22. Delacout is a symptom of our political pathology, not a cause.
The cause of our seem is that too many rational Canadians are observers of the process – Delacout et al are there to give a manipulative narrative to those too lazy/disinterested/distracted to engage in political discourse – on a larger perspective, too many non-progs are observers of the democratic system – it seems only special interest and freeloaders are proactive in getting their narrative out and those they rob are not.
Until that basic imbalance changes, the Delacourts will control the narrative.

  23. b) ‘dealing with a child in a manner that is likely to leave that child exposed to risk without protection’
Hmmm, I wonder if balancing babies on one hand while basking in idolation at an LIV barbeque is covered by this ?

  24. My guess is the “intruder” left a little gift inside Mrs Trudeau and hair found out. His own brother geez.

  25. Brilliant work by the media person for the Ottawa Police.
Now they look as professional as the Toronto branch.
This fairy tale is shot full of holes.
Either the reporter is lying or the police are stunningly incompetent.
I am sure the other property owners surrounding Just-In’s rented home are feeling so secure tonight.
