I’m over 65 and have enjoyed a truly wonderful life. However, I do feel sorry for my kids and grandkids, who will never experience the economic opportunities, liberty (= absence of government intrusions) and sense of accomplishment I have been able to enjoy. I try to spend more time following sports, humor, reading history & biography, than following politics anymore … politics has become THE biggest stressor in life so I simply tune it out / change the channel as quickly as possible for the sake of health.
You know, the pushback from all this is going to suck spectacularly.
Also, in other news the price of food in the USA is spiking hard.
No work, a million new immigrants a month plus food inflation? Push back will be historic.

Oh and by the way, this has been going on at this present volume in Arizona since around 2008. It has been going on at a lesser but still large volume since Bill Clinton was president. It went on under Bush. In fact it was bad enough under Bush that the Minuteman Project was started in 2005.
Its been going on so long they have special “watch out for the migrants” road signs in southern AZ. And they’re -faded- from being in the sun. Since 2008 they’ve added “watch out for the armed and dangerous drug smugglers” signs on major highways all the way up to Phoenix.
This is not a crisis. This is POLICY.
The cherry on top is that a White guy like me with a professional degree AND a license to practice can’t get a Green Card without a lawyer and ten years of trying. I can’t even get into the USA without them xraying my freakin’ truck. Last time I went the guy in the booth looked at my passport, and then laughed at the computer. “Mr. Phantom” he says, “did you know that you are a middle aged black lady from Jamaica?” I allowed as how I was unaware of that fact.
There is no control of the US border. There’s just a program of harassment against Canadians to make it look like DHS is doing something.

Absolutely no control on the Mexican border while I watch the guard on the Canadian border snap on his rubber gloves looking all the world like he’s preparing for a body cavity search. A lot of the Canadians I know and me could move to the U.S. under NAFTA but have no desire because of the cost of medical insurance and the economy sucks compared to Alberta.

Why do you think the State of Arizona put up all those “watch out for the illegal aliens” signs? Because they were getting hit by cars on the highways all the time.
Also, the drug cartels run all aspects of this thing on the Mexican side. They regularly kill people they don’t like. Unless the person is a woman, in which case they “do things” to her first. Then they kill her, and dump her busted corpse in Arizona.

This is a Presidential allowed invasion of America from the South. Obama has in effect declared war on his own Nation by allowing this. Any civil contract with a Federal government has been annulled. The primary purpose of a Government is to protect its citizans. This is now a dead letter. If homeland security is abetting this forced entrance by Illegals, drug runners. They are an outlaw organization.
Mean while Canada has the best protected border, the longest & most high tech the USA can deliver. Yet there are no hordes here trying to get into what many now view as a prison camp. No wonder Obama with his allies purged the American Military.

And all should be marched to the border to build a wall, and plant landmines. And then they should be unceremoniously dumped over the wall and given five minutes to clear the shotgun range. Support of illegal immigration needs to be considered equal to giving aid and comfort to the enemy and dealt with accordingly. Moreover, a “one alien one bomb” program needs to be introduced, for every alien crossing from Mexico one government building in Mexico should be bombed, no we do not care about collateral damage. Spanish needs to be banned in all public institutions and communication with Mexico should precede though Swiss embassy.

I still await you citing hard “facts” to support your strawman fallacy about lower crime rates relating directly to increased illegal immigration. All I see offered was a link to a Cato inst. missive of typical utopian idealizing which was short on factual data and substituted subjective conclusions. As a libertarian myself, I find the ideology of utopian libertarianism to be both impractical and logically flawed with subjective reasoning. I like to deal in real world problems and solutions using objective logic not subjective supposition or inflexible templates like Hegelian dialectic. All we have is the objective evidence to make decisions, we cannot come to correct conclusions staring at the subjective shadows on the cave wall (re read Plato’s allegory of the cave)
