  25. But there really were communist bogeymen under the bed. As it turns out those paranoid delusions weren’t only correct, but often conservative in their scope. Quite a lot of stuff got leaked during the 90’s pre-Putin era. The most accessible of it is probably the Mitrokhin material if you’re interested.

  31. As other pointed out, there were plenty of “reds under the beds” then, the supply of useful idiots was equally abundant and the reds never failed to put them to good use… the more things change the more they stay the same.
