We Are All Treaty People

After the Gormley event I was left in a state of confusion. I didn’t know how to feel about what I had experienced. I wasn’t sure if I was feeling like a coward or a warrior? If by being there was I being relentless or abiding? I found myself wondering if I was so desensitized not to lift a finger…Wondering have I allowed my colonized mind to get in the way of my passion for justice. All because of my patterned straying from over-sensitivity in a public setting.”

Note: Those who wish to engage their spirit passions (relentless or abiding) in the discussion should probably consult this page as a style guide.

  1. I actually read the first section of that style guide thinking, “what exactly is the point of all this” before I skipped to the bottom and it all came together.

  2. I was actually trying to understand what was written at that second link when I decided to check for sources at the bottom and caught on. Cripes. What is really scary is that I was actually beginning to get a handle on it, like abruptly having to walk in zero g, or suddenly having to breathe water instead of air, and surviving. Now my brain hurts and I feel like I need therapy of some kind. I won’t even try to read the Rezx stuff…

  3. The “Chimney Sweep” tribe . They are a new one on me. Oh well, at least they are working.

  4. Oh good lord… Now I definitely need therapy. But first a complete Cerebrospinal fluid analysis and Electronystagmography series. I’m not sure if that is a parody or not, but I am coming to the horrifying conclusion that it isn’t.

  5. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the “Postmodernism Generator” article and the statements of the three women. Gobbly gook. Mushy minds. Amazing stuff you see here.

  6. Show me someone who writes like that and I’ll show you an arsehole“.
Now, now Jamie! Keep your pants on. None of us wants to see that!

  7. I like to read the comments after an article… just to see if I’m the only idiot in the room or, are there more like me!!!
Brilliant! Kate you owe me a keyboard. And a coffee.
“The only thing missing from this account is the Onion logo.”

  8. “I didn’t know how to feel about what I had experienced.”

Ur doing it wrong. If you have to think about how to feel, you’re not feeling. And you’re not free either.

  9. Now hold on there. I used the indefinite article “an”, not the definite “The”, or the possessive “my”. 😉

  10. She’s a new reporter at CBC so I wouldn’t expect anything else. Her “priority is to establish a creative process to help others find heir authentic self & belonging through learning n development n self discovery.”

  11. How bad was it (the style book)? Sometimes that prose form amuses, sometimes it only appalls.

  12. the use of BIG words, and too many words, raise a red flag for me every time. There are a couple of contributors in here that like to do that. I won’t mention Occam or Revnant Dreamer, as those who do this:-)))

  13. The postmodernism generator is a nice touch. University students take note, when a random generator can come close to to the same prose your prof makes you read, it’s time to change majors.
Oh, and Foucault was a shameless scam artist. Just so you know.

  14. I wonder if you could run the post-modernism generator backwards and apply it to the blatherings of those students, and somehow makes sense of them? I’m guessing the answer is probably “no”, since it would be like reversing entropy.

  15. The insert in the paper today was a 4 page full size flyer for the 7th and final truth and reconciliation commission . Some sort of gala event with free concerts
Makes me sick, Alley Oops Redford has nothing on these Indian affairs types

  16. Truth and reconciliation commission is like when your wife makes you mad and she waits for the next morning to sit you down and explain how wrong you were.. The only way to end the conversation and get out the door is to apologize..
I understand now, it wasnt your fault you had to crash the car for the third time this year.. I must have been tired and not thinking straight..
The truth is your a dingbat and the reconciliation is I love you anyway.. Such is life 😛

  17. After reading the first paragraph of the “style guide” and the deep thoughts of the coward/warriors.
I am so glad I never let University interfere with my education.

A young Irish lad was told by his Grandad to find himself a woman with the smallest, daintest hands he could.
Well that puzzled the lad he asked if that perhaps that would show lady like qualities or some such.
His Gran chuckled….. “no me lad what it wll do is make your d**k look bigger”

  18. “…If you have to think about how to feel, you’re not feeling. And you’re not free either.”
And you’ll probably end up with the wrong feelings anyway because you suck at thinking.
