National Post, Thursday, March 20. Video of Barack the Hopeless kicking a chair isn’t racist after all.

“Rather than calling out racism, the Students Society of McGill University said in a recent motion, it ‘trivialized’ it.”
That’s a good point. When everything is racist, nothing is.
Élie Lubendo, one of the few blacks in the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU), had opposed the call for an apology in the first place. He also pointed out that the term “micro-aggression” had turned into a campus joke.
I’m glad somebody is showing a thoughtful attitude.
And perhaps some campus conservatives activated Rule-for-Radicals no. 5 after having finally read Alinsky?
“At last Thursday’s meeting, representatives from the Black Students Network similarly came out as vocal opponents of the Farnan apology, telling the assembled SSMU that their organization had been unjustly blamed for the episode.”
I guess blacks don’t appreciate whites telling them what they should consider racist or not. And who can blame them?
This is what happens when being more-anti-racist-than-thou makes mountains out of molehills. That’s “micro-aggression” in a nutshell.

I’m not sure that taking pride in having a abortion is something that deserves special attention, but then again I never thought being gay rated their own flag either.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/mar/19/dc-abortion-fund-thanks-donors-coat-hanger-pendant/
Thursday, March 20, Toronto Star. It recommends: no cash-for-blood.
http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/2014/03/19/ontario_is_right_to_ban_paid_donations_of_blood_plasma_editorial.html
“So why ban paid plasma donations? Two reasons: history and principle.”
“Voluntarism is the essence of Canada’s blood supply system and that principle is worth maintaining.”
The debate over abortion established the principle that one can do with one’s own body whatever one wants. That includes selling one’s blood. And enforced voluntarism is not voluntarism.
“About 30,000 Canadians were unknowingly infected with HIV and hepatitis C during the 1980s from tainted blood and plasma they had been assured was safe … Infected blood, purchased from disreputable sources, including derelicts on U.S. skid rows, was at the root of the problem.”
Both HIV and hepatitis C were brand new on the scene in those days, which may explain why no testing was done. An insidious new illness could arise today, among donors paid or unpaid, and the same tragedies could result.
On the other hand – “Plasma is a commodity, one that’s processed internationally for pharmaceutical use, mainly using raw material collected by U.S. companies that pay donors. It stands to reason the current system wouldn’t be rendered any less safe by paying Canadians and sending their plasma off to join whatever is collected elsewhere.”
So the Star’s argument from history is refuted by its own editorial and its argument from principle is wrong.
The opposition to trading and the preference for giving stems from the standard antipathy to capitalism. Perhaps the Star should stand on its own principles and sell its newspaper for free.
Hey, Horny, one vote for Adam Ward from me. Let’s see if SDA really gets results. Tell us how it went.

YAY! Sun News Network is available to us Telus TV viewers!
Now I just have to find out why they want an additional $4 a month for this news channel when I have no choice but to pay for CBC “newsworld”, or the CTV clone of CBC. Baby steps, baby steps.
More evidence of the desperation among the MSM spinners posing as reporters. It’s disgraceful to read such jackass reporting from the likes of John Ivison in the National Post,”Bungled Nadon appointment bad news for the Harper government but also for the PQ”….pardon me, he was vetted by all parties and is qualified for the job.
Other stupid headlines on the same subject in their latest attempt to skewer Harper…”Stunning political defeat for Stephen Harper”. Could this be farther from the truth?
Thankfully Christie Blatchford gets it right in the NP:”Nadon ruling is egregious meddling in what should be PM’s choice for Supreme Court” “It’s a disgraceful decision”. Amen.

Remington, one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers, will on Monday join Gov. Robert Bentley ( R ) to announce they are bringing over 2,000 jobs to Alabama.
Most of the jobs will be relocated from their Ilion, NY plant, and the initial investment in Alabama will be $87 million.
Founded in 1816 in upstate New York , the company is one of the nation’s oldest continuously operating manufacturers. Remington is the only U.S. manufacturer of both firearms and ammunition products and one of the largest domestic producers of shotguns and rifles.
Remington first began considering new locations after the New York legislature passed the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act in response to the tragic shootings in Newtown , Conn. It broadened the definition of so-called “assault weapons” to include a wide range of guns, including the Bushmaster, which was being manufactured at Remington’s New York plant.
A month ago Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) said “extreme conservatives” who are “right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay,” have “no place in the state of New York.”
Gov. Bentley responded “In Alabama we strongly support and uphold our great U.S. Constitution on which our nation and our states were founded.
“The Constitution serves to protect individual freedoms. Among them are those guaranteed in the Second Amendment, which protects the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. We will protect the freedoms of individuals and welcome any one or any company to Alabama to discover as so many have, that we are a pro-business state filled with good, hardworking people.
“If Gov. Cuomo doesn’t want hard working pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment people in his state, we will gladly take them here in Alabama .”
Elections are a battle, Liberty is the war.
We may lose a battle here and there but we must Never lose the war.
Keep fighting the good fight.
Ah, yes — The Serendipity Singers. Kind of a clone of the New Christy Minstrels — in that era.
Well, it’s kind of a sappy song. Like something you would expect to hear while shopping for greeting cards at Hallmark.
But at least it has a melody, and it’s sung. It’s not a lot of feral yelling and guttural chanting of filth and threats — which seems to be what the kids like nowadays, because they’re too stupid to understand melody.
Occam’s Razor and Climate Change
why does applying the principle of Occam’s Razor force us to reject the theory that anthropogenic CO2 is the main driver of contemporary climate change? The reason is that nature has produced periods of warming similar to the recent warming, without any significant contribution from Anthropogenic CO2.
So we have two competing hypothesis for what is driving contemporary climate change:-
1. Observed natural variation, which has produced periods of warming statistically indistinguishable from the warming which ended in 1998.
2. Observed natural variation + an unproven assumption that Anthropogenic CO2 is now the main driver of Climate Change.
Clearly the second hypothesis fails the test of Occam’s Razor. In the absence of compelling evidence that anthropogenic CO2 has overridden natural variation, we have to accept hypothesis 1 – that observed climate change is the result of natural variation.
The climate is not hotter than it was in the past, periods such as the Holocene Optimum, or looking further back, the Eemian Interglacial. The warming which ended in 1998 was not faster, or of significantly longer duration, than similar natural warmings which occurred in the recent past.
Nothing about the current climate is outside the bounds of climatic conditions which could reasonably be produced by natural variation – therefore, according to the rules of science, we have to reject hypothesis which unnecessarily embrace additional unproven assumptions, unless or until such assumptions can be tested and verified, in a way which falsifies the theory that natural variation is still in the driver’s seat.

In yesterday’s ” our moral and intellectual superiors ” piece , Kate brought up the ‘Center for American Progress’.
This is a left-wing charity funded heavily by George Soros. Justin billed us to go down to Washington and partake in their 10th anniversary celebrations.

CAP pays their speakers honorariums. Did JT get one? He put on a show with Madeliene Albright and Julia Gillard.
CAP is not saying,I have e-mailed them twice.
Justin’s Sudbury trip was also VERY likely FRAUD.
JT and an assistant flew in on the 12th of December and flew out the next day.
JT had a meal with the “I love Justin” contest winner, did a couple of photo-ops, and then headlined a secretive $1,200 a plate fundraiser for the Liberals that evening.
The next morning he flipped pancakes at a “free” breakfast for those who could not afford his dinner ‘party’ the night before. I say “secretive” because it was not advertised, I confirmed this with a Sun News reporter in Sudbury.

Justin has some explaining to do.
And it should be done in front of a judge.
I thought it was rather unusual that the authorities were strangely quiet about the cargo. They had to know, and keeping quiet only made it more suspicious.

Yesterday’s ” Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors ” post yesterday mentioned the ‘Center for American Progress’.
This charity, which is heavily funded by George Soros, held their 10th anniversary bash last October. They had many speakers, including our own shiny pony who shared the stage with Madeleine Albright and Julia Gillard.
CAP does pay honorariums to their speakers.
I wrote them twice asking if JT received a honorarium or had any expenses covered. They duly noted and then ignored the first, and completely ignored the second which was sent ten days later. It could be all above board, but then again, a charity cheque would be mighty tempting to a grifter like Justin. Old habits die hard.
But,who knows…
However, JT’s trip to Sudbury in December is quite likely FRAUD. I don’t say that lightly.
JT and an assistant flew from Ottawa to Sudbury on the 12th and returned to Montreal on Friday the 13th. We paid for that.
His disclosure states, ” Visit to Shkagamik-KWE Health Centre, Nickel Rim South Mine, Collège Boréal ” .
BUT, it does not state that he also had lunch with the winner of the local ‘I love JT, lets do lunch ‘ contest, or that he headlined a $1,200 a plate Liberal fundraiser that evening.
Does that constitute FRAUD ?
I think so. The rules set out by the BOIE clearly state that the taxpayer does not pick up the bill for fundraising expenses.
The question is…Did JT fly out there for the photo-ops/ parliamentary business and then just happened to stumble upon the fundraiser, or were the photo-ops a cover to have us pay for the fundraising expenses?
I have e-mailed back and forth with Carol Mulligan, the Sun News reporter in Sudbury.
She wrote, ” Word about these dinners is always very much under the radar, by word of mouth. You’re darned right the info about the fundraiser is very scarce. I am on an email mailing list for the Liberals because you don’t have to be a Liberal to be on it, nor to even choose the leader.”
And, ” I have no idea how many attended because it was a private function, as people are perfectly entitled to hold. They are under no obligation to let anyone know who the speakers are, but I dare say no one spoke other than Justin, other than people introducing him.”
And, ” Word goes out among the party faithful — the well-heeled party faithful — very quietly. They meet like a secret society.”
Justin has some explaining to do.
And it should be in front of a judge.
