Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was convicted Wednesday on charges that he accepted bribes, free trips and other gratuities from contractors in exchange for helping them secure millions of dollars in city work while he was in office, including right after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005.
Nagin is best remembered for his impassioned pleas for help after levees broke during Katrina, flooding much of New Orleans and plunging the city into chaos.

But… but… BUSH!
Nagin was lazy and arrogant. If one is a mayor whose city is built so low one has to look up to see Lac Pontchatrain then one should know to evacuate as soon as possible when a hurricane comes in. Instead, Nagin let buses sit in the water and evacuated remaining citizens nearly a week after landfall.
So if we insult him are we racist. When Detroit’s mayor was convicted of so many crimes you can’t possibly list them when criticism came that same old MSM durge…well he obviously is a racist so his criticisms don’t matter. I hope Nagan spends a lot of time in jail….he’s no better than all the other criminals there now.

Who would have ever dreamed that the mayor on New Orleans might be a Democrat. Anyway the whole hurricane was the fault of Geo W Bush, so what does it matter?

He is black, therefore it *must* be someone else’s fault in the eyes of liberals.
FWIW, the CBC beat the US networks and the New York Times. Last night the networks (other than Fox) didn’t mention his party, and neither has the NYT, in at least two articles on the trial and convictions.
He’s ‘black’ so there is no need to mention his political affiliation as 97% of blacks self identify as democrat. Once on the plantation its difficult to imagine life off the plantation.
So this is the thieving bastXXd who wanted to have the army disarm NOLA citizens – no wonder.
The criminally minded “fixer” in public office is always paranoid of the public wising up to their crimes and the thought of some publicly spirited citizen saving the state the cost of a criminal trial always haunts their thinking – they are ALWAYS the most vehemently anti-2nd amendment zealots – again, no wonder.
