This is a caribou.
This is an arctic fox.
And a tern.
Just so you know what you’re looking at when the time comes.

The FBI, RCMP, and Interpol need to be looking for Al Gore now.
If anybody spots this individual call your local police station and report the sighting.
*Do not attempt to approach this dangerous individual as he is mentally ill, agitated, and most probably armed.
Science is hard for reporters. The Snowy Owl is not the largest owl.
but, but but… global warming!
From wiki for what it’s worth
“It is one of the largest species of owl and, in North America, is on average the heaviest owl species.”
I am seeing pelicans over here in Edmonton, AB. If I see those fish gobbling stratopigs poaching on my favourite fishing spot the 12 bore is coming out.
its gonna be even more fun when they discover the blackfly..
The IPCC is 95% certain that these owls are wrong and people are to blame. It’s actually getting warmer in Florida and that cold air is actually reverse heat.
What? No polar bears? That would be too funny.
Glenfilthie, American white pelicans are in their natural range when in Alberta so nothing unusual…been here “forever.” Protection has allowed their numbers to increase. I photographed 21 in one herd on one of my fave trout rivers a few years ago. Fish-eating vermin… highly photogenic, but I am not happy with their numbers either.
Animals do what they do for their own reasons.. Run that through a computer model 🙂
Grizzlies are not supposed to be here on Vancouver Island. Their territory lies on the Central Coast, BUT, they’ve managed to figure out the bittersweet benefits of swimming. Grizzlies felled by their lust for adventure. That’s almost human!
A little off topic, but when I was in Minnesota they told me the state bird was the mosquito.
Kinda brings a whole new meaning to the term ‘Snowbirds’ don’t it?
I think you are more likely to see a pelican on the prairies than on the coast. I haven’t noticed any in the lakes around Edmonton but saw lots feeding around the lock at St. Andrews on the Red River north of Winnipeg.
When we commercial fished on the big Manitoba lakes in the 1950’s and 60’s,there were hundreds of pelicans on the lakes. We used to throw the rough fish overboard and there would be about fifty pelicans and hundreds of seagulls following each boat.
Not one fish was wasted, but the pelicans wouldn’t eat carp, the ‘gulls did though.
Damn climate change.
I want my glowbal warming.
I want to see the permafrost melt, those mosquito larva from the wooly mammoth days released for their icy hibernation to go forth and feast upon the eco tourists.
Imagine a mosquito adapted to feed thro the hide of a mastodon or wooly rhino.
And they live, core samples from the permafrost contain larvae that start to wriggle as they thaw.
However as the ice worm slithers south I am sure all, those gun hating animal lovers, will do their best to keep those starving polar bears provisioned.
Lots of Pelican on the river in Saskatoon, Sask……….
Scar >

Lots on the prairie lakes.
To be precise, that’s an arctic tern. Other varieties of tern can be found in quite temperate climates. I used to see Foster’s terns quite frequently when I lived in Silicon Valley and would bicycle along the shore of the San Francisco Bay.
Dunno if this was mentioned….
Can you imagine if a (say) an American Flamingo showed up in Winnipeg?! OMG, the warmista would be screaming GLOBAL WARMING … or something. Someone would want money to study the cause.
Other than this snowy being a bit of an anomaly in FL, it is no big deal and no one is claiming “new ice age.”
Not to worry, polar bears live on Coca-Cola.
I am actually serious when I say this
I am worried that the poles are shifting…if that happens I think we will all be screwed. once again this has nothing to do with man kind. and everything to do with the sun the moon and the earth…I wanted to say the stars but that’s so Hollywood.
“Experts say snowy owls fly farther south when their population spikes or their food source becomes scarce…
Let me finish that sentence for you
…however, let one errant flamingo cross the Mason-Dixon Line and it’s “Woe to the world, Global Warming is upon us!”
the poles are shifting…
yeah, and the thais are getting tangled…
Not sure if you mean magnetic or physical, but can we vote before we get taxed to the moon on this? I WANT us to be closer to the equator for a change. 🙂
Al Gore will have his own Island by than in the tropics.
On the happy side no one will contest the “North west Passage” for a while till this cold period lasts.
physical. they have been saying for a couple decades that the poles are tilting more and more about 1″ a year so far. I could be wrong I read it in a science article and we know how credible science is these day’s!! lol. climate science I should be specific.
Don’t want the athiests to start rambling on!! ha ha suck it up!
I think every state in the U.S. had below freezing temps this am. the flordia pan handle had temps as low as 17F. texas was very cold state wide. a friend of mine had his water freeze a couple of years ago in largo, close to Clearwater.
Yet another racist immigration policy.
We have a variety of tern on the Gulf of Mexico. They travel in pairs because, as most people know, one good tern deserves another.
Mostly Cajun
