Ha, I have long criticized the insidious MSM for it’s passing of manufactured news(polls)as real news. Now they’re a good marketing strategy for anyone with an agenda, including this site.
I’ve seen other polls that show Ford is absolutely done as mayor. Those ones must have been commissioned by the political left.
The really funny thing is, if a Lib or NDP supporting mayor had publicly self-destructed in this manner, all the partisans would be arguing the opposite side of what they are now. Partisan politics is SO predictable and intellectually shallow.

The issue isn’t his performance as mayor.
It’s his personal conduct in that position.

They were not elected city-wide for an agenda approved by the majority of voters. What a lot of people hated was the sputtering outrage of all our moral betters — both on Toronto Council and in the mainstream media — and the naked power grab of these same councillors.

To be honest, I don’t really know how effective he was in terms of policy and cutting the gravy train, but I know he didn’t make any policy blunders that he was able to be skewered on, because the media would never have let go of that bone. As much as he’s revealing himself to be out of control with his substances, both legalized and illegal, he did win the election based on the promise of fixing what his predecessor broke….on a side note, I wonder how accepting the tolerant left would be of crack/heroin/cocaine use amongst their own team?

Rosie DiManno spews bile and then labels Rob Ford a ‘vulgarian.’ Andrew Coyne, his intellect switched ‘off,’ broad-brushes Canadian conservatives in one fell swoosh, exposing his nasty side. The ‘Globe and Mail’ badly misrepresents a video paid for by the ‘Toronto Star.’ The press has gone off the rails.

The subject is not who defends Rob Ford … the subject is what choices do Torontonians have.

So much so, in fact, that I happen to think that if Rob Ford were to be cloned 50,000 times and elected to every municipal position across the country, the country as a whole would be far better off than it is now with you guys.
There is a hidden agenda — the media has been on an escalating offensive — so why now instead of 2 months from now when candidates start to declare themselves for the next municipal election? — It is because the budget process has started. First thing last Friday November 15th the council tried to do after removing Ford’s ability to hire/fire committee chairs was put several left wing councillors on the budget committee. When that failed they did a bait & switch to Mondays agenda and successfully moved to remove the mayor from the head of the executive committee, thus control of steering the budget process. There is now talk of increasing taxes to 3% to 5% to handle increased spending.
Somebody asked who Norm Kelly was? Norm Kelly is a Liberal by persuasion and they are not known for being fiscally responsible. The gravy train is back on.
It truly was Coup d’etat — just follow the money. A $9+ billion/year budget is one hell of a trough and the NDP’ers miss that big sloppy gravy train. Toronto’s budget is Canada’s largest municipal budget and Canada’s 8th largest government budget wise (that is where all governments Federal, Provincial & Municipal are lumped into one category).
It also did not help that Ford was the first Fiscal Conservative to crack Fortress Toronto in 30+ years. The left hates losing “safe territory”.
In keeping with the policy to remove politicians who utilize illegal drugs while in office, I’m curious when the MSM will start a recall campaign to remove the shiny pony as an MP?
