Always the end result when “Buy High, Sell Low” meets “Running out of other peoples money”. So, instead of just being a huge drain on the public purse, it’s also going to cause another bank run because too many people borrowed against the gov’t subsidies.
Coming to a Province near you whose name may be Ontario.
This quote is classic,
“The current policy is harmful because the sector was maturing and close to becoming competitive without any aid but has suddenly totally collapsed,” Izurzun said.

Was maturing and close to becoming competitive?
ha.
If anyone believes that,
I want to sell you some insurance repair bonds for the new San Francisco Bay Bridge Expansion..
Starting July 1 in Ontario it will be legal to build bird killers anywhere, no matter what endangered species may be there. No infrastructure mind you just bird killers. Not a sound from the eco freaks.

Ontario’s Premier will look into the disaster of windytowns Ontario headache
problems just as soon as she finishes her march in TO’s gay parade. It’s not so easy getting out of those leathers you know! Priorities eh.
It’s past joking about the disaster the McSquinty Lobranos have made of the energy sector in Ontario. Ontatio has gone from the province with the lowest cost of hydro electricity to the highest cost in the nation, possibly North America, in 8 short years. It is no coincidence that high-paying industrial jobs fled the province with rising energy costs. McGuinty has been implementing the UN agenda 21 energy and land policy in Ontario and broad based austerity, taxation and dependence is the only result.
It’s time to stop dancing around the issue of high energy costs, loss of property rights and job loss in Ontario and pin the blame where it belongs right on the McGuinty Liberals and their selling out the province and its energy sector to UN energy policies and green tech patrons. You would think the sight of the monthly energy bill would be a constant reminder to Ontario voters that they have been co-opted as unwitting shareholders in the scandalous McGuinty energy agenda – but then no one ever accused Ontario voters of having the self esteem to stop voting for their on tormentors – it;s almost like voters have a sado-masochistic relationship with the Ontario Liberal party.
What is really sad is that these unicorn fart chasers will get away with these massive frauds against both the people of Spain, Ontario and elsewhere, and not be charged with crimes as they should be.
Occam, “it’s almost like voters have a sado-masochistic relationship with the Ontario Liberal party.” Yes, it is unbelievable how they can not see how they have been had, and some want to repeat this on a national scale with Shiny Pony.

I understand where comments like this are coming from, but I’m a little tired of it. The problem lies in the urban scrunts who don’t see the costs of what they are voting for.
Look at the map here and look at southern Ontario:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ontariovotes2011/
Us hicks in the nether regions voted for Hudak’s funding of religious schools or privatized beer stores or beer stores in religious schools or whatever the hell he was proposing last time.
The urban parasites, who don’t see hydro bills in their monthly rent, or who pay for their utilities in their condo fees, or who live so comfortably that they don’t have to worry about utility costs and can instead focus on feeling guilty for being white, are the ones who voted for McGuinty.
The problem is not with Ontario per se — the problem is with the dependent classes in the cities: grievance mongers, perpetual students, comfy-couch socialists, government employees, and the underclass created by a failing education system and victim culture.
I agree with you: we’re freakin’ doomed. But not all of us are voting for it.
It seems H.L. Menecken’s famous quip that “No one ever went broke under-estimating either the intelligence or the good taste of the American public” equally applies to my cousins to the north, eh?
“…close to becoming competitive…”
Sure, like The Democratic Republic of the Congo is close to becoming competitive with Qatar.
Yep,the best thing that could ever happen to Ontario, and Canada, would be for Toronto to be declared a City State within Canada, then they can make up their own rules based on their fantasies, while leaving the rest of us the hell alone!
“The current policy is harmful because the sector was maturing and close to becoming competitive without any aid but has suddenly totally collapsed,”
And THAT statement is, how you say in Eenglish,”bool-sheet”!

Cool. I think I’ll try this replying to myself thing.
Competitive?
“I don’t think that word means what you think it means.”
– Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
I wasn’t replying to myself it was the only way to correct a mistake in my original post as there is no way to edit.
I liked this line from the Spanish article: “That is without mentioning what the impact is in terms of braking the fight against climate change.”
Shouldn’t we be having a discussion about that and dispense with the “incre-MENTAL” policies that some say will only skeer the rubes into voting in the Shiny Pony? The costs of NOT doing so are a lot higher than even thinking that your local politician/bureaucrat can regulate the climate, by regulating everything about you. And taxing you into the grave to do so so that they can strut around saying “we did it” and survey the wreckage of their particular part of the planet.
There is NO man-made “climate change” of any attributable, measurable amount. There is a lot of man made bumff out there to make you think that there is. What we do have is an AGW fraud and there are the means available today to prove that.
Why the right, if you want to make this a left/right thing, cannot articulate an argument that puts the AGW supporters back on their heels on this idea, is beyond me with the amount of counter information available to do so today.
What I can’t get is that people think that we can mitigate the climate of a planet, 25,0000 miles in circumference, weighing 6.580 sextillion tons, against some rather sizable processes that the physics are poorly understood and probably so big as to make any effort to mitigate them, consume more than we can produce to “fight” it. Other than say “depopulate the world”, espoused by Dr. Evil himself – Maurice Strong and his UN Agenda 21 process to do so, I don’t see anything changing other than the weather. And our politicians espousing this crap.
The human species survived by ADAPTING, not fighting Mother Nature.
PO’d: thanks for the links.
I looked at one. The ERIEAU wind generation station is, according to the figures, producing 100% of rated capacity every hour of the day. I smell shenanigans!!

Well of course it is,KevinB. Sorta like the Spaniards producing solar energy,at night, using eevvvvviillll fossil fueled generators.
As somebody mentioned on another thread, the only problem is none of these psychos will have to forfeit a penny, and be charged with crimes against humanity.Oh wait. They aren’t crimes if it involves stealing little black pipples food to make booze(ethanol),while the blacks in Africa watch their children starve. How silly of me.
Yeah well what burns my derierre is the Watermelon reaction to the smoke polution affecting Singapore and Malasia…..smoke from “forest fires” in Indonesia.
Them’s not forest fires….that’s the now, annual burnoff from landclearing to plant more Palm plantations to grow bio-diesel….an unintended consequence. Like the Mazon getting cleared for soybeans….for biodiesel.
Yep……the smoke is from “Climate Change”…..the political variety.
As politicians are unable to learn from others mistakes and the tyranny of the cities skews the vote.
The next generation of school children will learn to spell Ontario phonetically On tare I Owe.
At what point will tax payers wake up?
As taxes equal 100%?
As these political bureaucrats have made it clear, they feel no obligation to honour the promises they made, to provide those services they extorted the tax dollars for.
Yet they insist that we taxpayers, must honour those promises they made to them selves, high wages, special privileges, performance pay, ridiculously generous pensions, separate healthcare packages and so on.
At what point does failure to operate in good faith, failure to act reasonably and protect the public good , become treason?
I acknowledge that we cannot fix stupid, but thats no reason not to impose penalties on stupid people who damage society.
Remember these are not conscripts, each of the govt experts, yes sarcasm intended, chose to seek employment in the govt bureaucracy or chose to seek elected office, all swore oaths to serve the public interest.
When did their personal interest become public interest?
Windmills are not the only scam going in Ontario. I hear that the huge tunnel in the Niagara gorge which was supposed to feed water to even more electric generators has yet to generate any electricity. It was announced that it was finally finished… and we heard no more about it. So maybe its sitting there running half of Southern Ontario, and maybe it -isn’t-.
Oh by the way. The windmills only make any reasonable amount of power at night, when demand is low. So the excess power gets sold to the Americans. That’s what we are told. Except that sometimes it doesn’t get sold. Sometimes we -pay- them to take it.
Awesome business plan, right?
the people in brazil are rioting and demonstrating against a small increase in transit fares, while we here in ontario allow criminals like dalton and his gang to fritter away 4 to 5 billion dollars of our money. that’s right you lefties it is our money.
Ontario borrows 10 billion dollars for useless windmills so they can enrich their friends and supporters but wants to raise taxes for the 10 billion it needs for transit upgrades..
WTF is wrong with these people..
BTW we have to pay the Americans to take our excess power.. They know we cant save it so they offer 10 cents on the dollar.. A complete and total rip off of the tax payer..
