  1. Certainly a modern parable Capt. – with a metaphor as grotesque as the corruption of modern society by nanny statists

  2. Captain;
    I ain’t no book trained ecunningmist like ya’all but I dun thunk me that having a passel of kids wuld be a good thang. After all I dun rekoned that demographic growth was needed to maintain economic growth. Shucks but now I sea ya’all says lots of chitlins aint guld. Well I’ll just have to finger out how to putem back where I gotem?

  3. Ya mean back in the olden days? Luckerly thar yungens is haven mor’n them! An eemeegraation is helpun too. Lotta senyars arund anywho.

  4. All good points, but how does one reverse a system that rewards potential leaders with votes for the unaffordable excess they promise to deliver to the gullible electorate ? Who would vote for hard times and forced declining living standards for decades to come ? I can see the problem but can’t visualize the solution without a lot of blood in the streets and civil war. A “American Spring” seems inevitable in the near future. Too many takers and not enough contributers. The takers have not earned anything but watch the shithit the fan if you try to repossess even their minor perceived “rights”. The entitlement mindset of the left is a disease without a cure. History shows we are in familiar territory and the inevitable dictator will emerge with the promise of a better tomorrow if only the wealth can be distributed among the takers. It’s all just a little history repeating.

  5. In Ontario if you are small business owner and for what ever the reason for terminating an employee; loss of market; inability; etc.; you have to consider the now terminated employee’s lack of education which will make it more difficult for this former employee to find new employment. This is only one criteria or impediment to trying to survive in this difficult business environment. Nope; not the Green Environment, the existential environment.
    Failure to recognize this in establishing the termination criteria could/will lead to a Human Rights complaint. An Ontario H.R. complaint means a company is expected to pay all their own legal costs; the complainant’s costs are paid by the taxpayer.
    The Tribunal process is scheduled at the convenience of every participant, claimant; Tribunal members; Claimant witnesses (which are able to testify in absentia as is the claimant); EXCEPT the small business or I guess any business.
    My experience is as a small business owner. Cheer;

  6. Beautifully put.
    As the state squeezes the makers,the number of wealth producers shrinks.
    Something about the state taxing behaviour it wishes to discourage.
    Every year, same song from Minister of Finance,” Productivity in Canada is falling”.
    As a journeyman I cannot afford to work serious overtime, it rapidly decreases my actual rate of pay to approximately $2.50/hr.
    As a small business I am compelled to work for the governments, on compliance, paperwork and GST collection, for what becomes a greater amount of time than that I spend on billable work.And now the consequences of being an employer are undefined, under Bill C45 an employer must babysit all employees to an absurd degree or face financial ruin or jail. So why would one risk employing others?
    Want to experience true weirdness? Go APPLY FOR A BUSINESS LICENSE. So many hands out before you earn a single dollar.
    What cannot go on, won’t.
    With 25% of the Canadian economy being government, we are toast.There are not 5 of me available to support 1 govt bureaucrat.
    Stockpile medicine, drygoods and weaponry.
    My prediction is that the most vile looters and bandits will be exgovt employees.

  7. How does one reverse this mess? You want the truth, can you handle the truth?
    Just as Rome at it’s pinnacle had homosexual marriages and orgies it became a despotic and self absorbed society so the West has become. Only when the hordes of Vandals and Goths came to loot the Roman empire did the elites who reveled in their excess were deposed from power. Then came the next wave of barbarians, the Muslims and the Black Plague to finish off the rest and cull the population did our traditional ideal of morality take hold. Societies and civilizations follow patterns like a sine wave. We are now on a downward slope to rid humanity of its excesses. Everything is a cycle and this wave of immorality will also pass.
    Immorality is its own weakness and they fall to the aggressors like Rome did. Islam is rising, the barbarian hordes are gathering, you will know it when you see it come to pass. Take the long view of history and do not despair.

  8. Well said and so very true. Pity they don’t teach history any more and we don’t live long enough for the long view. While our children learn how to put condoms on cucumbers their children learn that all infidels must convert or be killed. The gate is open and the Trojan horse is being pulled inside. We celebrate our superior knowledge in political correctness while they sharpen their swords. Our world leaders study the lint in their ecological navels while they plan world domination. We send them billions of dollars in un-affordable aid which facilitates the hope they will learn to love our perverted life style and gay parades. Their Imams are respected while our Clergy is held up to ridicule and disdain. Oh yes…I can handle the truth, but not without despair.
