   If a person coming before this body wanted to be a Cabinet officer, he couldn’t be if he had the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns.
   “So the word is out that he has not paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove he has paid taxes, because he has not.”

7. According to Judge Napolitano – never, the law protects Government oficials from civil or criminal liability in this type of situation. So even though criminal law was clearly violated, the only remedies are political. Congress in other words has to throw enough of a tantrum to force Obama into warming up his bus. Which won’t happen because the trail likely leads very close to him.

    I have always remarked, somewhat in jest, that the Americans are revolting people…..but this is enough to inspire the Hari Khrisnas to riot. Perhaps P.T, Barnam had the right philosophy……

13. Of course the true scandal is the very existence of the IRS in the first place. A temporary tax levied to finance the Great War grew into this monstrosity.
    OBVIOUSLY politicians use it to punish their enemies. That’s what it’s for. That’s what it’s -always- been for.

16. I can’t grasp that a sitting president can use government employees to intimidate and abuse those not of the same political party. It’s goes beyond astounding into the realm of fascism.

18. True , so true Phantom – the same goes for income tax in Canada. My granddad fought the income tax thugs, here in Canada, after WWI because he paid land taxes and he lost his brother in The Battle of the Marne; he stated, quite correctly, that he had paid enough for the “King’s War”. Granddad hired a lawyer and the lawyer sold out to the highest bidder (the thugs). He ‘paid’ those taxes three or four times over – the envious neighbors whom he had helped get through the Depression, gloated. I have heard people say that they are happy to pay taxes to support medi no care, roads, bridges etc. – do they track these payments? Do they know that resources belong to citizens, not the guments? Why do gument officials always end up wealthy after their terms in office? WHO benefits?!
