    So was Gifford wanting a Palin image?

  5. There’s also a pic of her at her old Flickr page showing her shooting an AK-47 or clone. She has a uniformed man with her that I had assumed was a soldier and that she might have been visiting Afghanistan when I bookmarked it at the time of her being shot but perhaps it was on the same firing range as above with a paramilitary uniformed cop as above.

  7. I continue to wish Gabby well on the road to her recovery. But that being said, I am constantly amazed by the hypocritical attitudes of the left.
    They will do and say anything to be elected and then turn around and use any, and I do mean ANY situation to advance their agenda and somehow come out like they are the only ones who care.
    The Left is despicable.

  9. I wonder whether Loughner’s defense attorney’s knew that Giffords had been targeting young men?
    If the reports are right, that the gun-range event was staged in order to pander to voters, she’s off the hook. Pandering is status quo in politics. If you have to lie your a$$ off to get elected, then it is right to do so; even obligatory. See the AliBama campaigns and administration.

  10. If I had held a gun at the angle she is holding that AR, pointing in the direction of the police officer, my firearms instructor would have smacked me upside the head. The only thing she is doing right is keeping her finger off the trigger. I propose a law that no “progressive”be allowed to own a gun.

  13. In the Breitbart article regarding this, it was mentioned that the Giffords’ enjoyed shooting events, this may have been a staged photo event for electioneering, but she (and her husband) were comfortable doing this from past experience.
    “I grew up with guns, and I like owning them. So does my husband Mark. It’s an interest we’ve shared ever since we met. It’s part of my heritage as an Arizonan and it’s my right as an American. Being able to shoot a gun is something I haven’t been able to do since I was shot – because my right arm is paralyzed, and I’m less mobile than I was.”

  14. Was it just about 2 days ago that Rob Portman, Republican Senator from Ohio switched from supporting traditional marriage, (voted Yes, to the Defense of Marriage Act) to supporting gay marriage, seemingly a decision made solely as a result of his son coming out as gay?
    I’d be good if these principled stances were based on principles, and less on the whims of your family situation. Is this so different from being caught with an underaged hooker and then campaigning on lowering the age of consent? Being caught drinking and driving, then campaigning for relaxing the 0.08 standard to say, 0.1 ?

  15. Well boys there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the picture. A young lady, enjoying the wholesome and healthy shooting sports, doing some self-defense drills? Remember, she took a bullet to the pan and that can’t be good for her current thought processes and allowances must be made. And as far as that goes, I suppose brain damage has never been an issue with liberal politicians anyways, right?
    Hmpfff.
    There’s plenty of sanctimony on our side too. Go check out the nutless wonders at Canadian Gunnutz for example: If you raise the idea of guns for self defense there, half the Morontario fudds and flimps that moderate that ‘pro-gun’ board will wet their panties and demand you censor yourself. The idea of an armed citizenry keeping tyranny of the gov’t in check will have those idiots pi**ing and moaning about vigilantes and militancy – and yet they wonder how the Supreme Court got away with it’s recent censorship ruling about truth and “hate speech”.
    This picture tells a MILLION words folks, and poses some interesting questions for is real Canadians too.

  16. As a side note, does anyone else find it creepy that her target looks like a very young person under the age of 21? A minor perhaps? Kid looks like 16 or 17 to me. Whats up with that?

In an earlier post in here(that must have got flushed down a cyber hole)I posted the Gabby was one of those Dems that the term “neo-con” was coined for, it has been replaced by blue-dog, as neo-con has been shifted to describe some one like me:-)))Gabby was for gun ownership before she was against it!!!!

  22. Target looks like a university student/hipster, trying as hard as possible to look like not-a-minority. I notice from the picture she couldn’t shoot for crap, even with a red-dot sight she’s all over the paper. This is the pre-injury Giffords, I’m quite happy mocking that old ghost given that her every move in political life was counter to the good of American citizens. That woman was erased by a 9mm bullet, everything she did is in the past.
    Fast forward to now, things get a bit disturbing. I notice from “her” Facebook page that somebody else is clearly ghost-writing her public postings these days. Given the grave nature of her injuries, there’s no way she wrote that. Or if she did its a medical miracle, and she should be on the front page of Scientific American. “Woman with half her brain shot away writes perfect English prose!”
    It is perverted and evil to trot around a woman as profoundly brain damaged as this one and use her for a political sock puppet in this way. One short step from rape, in my professional opinion. Putting political words into the mouth of a retarded child is less objectionable than what’s being done here.
    This one thing, more than anything else they are doing these days, shows just how low the Democrat Party of the USA has sunk.
