  1. Is it possible for states to intervene in municipal legislation to prevent cities from rendering themselves permanently immune from financial investment, not that California ever would? I am sure every business is looking for an escape route. It is only time until some raving lunatic Marxist sues them and gets a $ billion judgement from a Marxist judge.

  2. As Kate might say What could possibly go wrong?
Democrats pass laws to enrich lawyers. Everyone else can starve.

  3. “The ability of an individual to sue the city because they don’t like a development approval, that’s not in there,” Gold said.
Which means, asshat, the ability TO sue is not prohibited. The Big One can’t come quick enough. I want to see it in my lifetime.

  4. From the article. “Unrestrained capitalism has extracted the good out of our environment in many, many cases”
Tells you all you need to know.

  5. BTW, when was the last time there was “unrestrained capitalism” in California anyways? Every one of these “San Andreas” threads documents another of the multitutde of restraints that has been put on capitalism over the years.

  6. Whenever I hear the word ‘sustainability’ I am reminded of the dodo birds in the movie Ice Age. The clueless birds were trying to stave off the hunger of a coming 10,000 year long ice age with a watermelon.

  7. More of the UN’s Agenda 21. Not sure how long it will take, but we are headed to being governed by the UN. Say good bye to our sovereignty.

  8. I thought Black Mamba’s original comment including the video means of separating California from the lands east of the San Andeas was the ticket.
Give fair warning to Bill Whittle, Caine and his dad from “Caine’s Arcade” and the other 10.000 or so out of the millions.
    Then do it.

  9. The definition of a voter, as a property owner, was wise.
Changing that definition, so those with no skin in the game, could vote themselves a free lunch, was insane.
Now the bright side is, very soon the CAGW scam crashes and burns.
Recriminations over foolish, ideological destruction of wealth will kick into high gear.
And key phrases will point to the key loons.
Sustainable is a key, find someone promoting sustainable idiocy, you found a dangerous idiot.
Simple mob methodology, just check the net for past groupthink spiels and seek out that speaker.
Very poor decision making, insist that the people are too stupid to understand the science, as you use that facade, to destroy and steal the peoples wealth.
Entertaining times ahead.Especially for Liberals and Greens.
Is Harper a Genius? Or just lucky?

  10. Man, talk about the Epitomy of Legislative Uselessness – the DNA in LA and PQ must damned near identical.
But, notwithstanding the many legislated stupidities of Sacremento and l’assebmblee nationale, it would be hard to beat a former Mayor of Ottawa and her Council declaring Ottawa a “Nuclear Free Zone”.
Man, imagine how pissed off those Ruskies were when they had to re-aim all those nukes!

  11. At the north entrance road of Regina, Sask, “Albert Street” is a sign proclaiming Regina to be a nuclear free zone. In front of the liquor store.

  12. The Constitution’s “Bill of Rights?” That’s still debatable. This will be ruthlessly enforced.
Last one to leave California, please turn off the(eco-friendly, energy saving) lights.

  13. I find moonbats are very destructive to my psychologic environment. Does this mean I can sue to have all moonbats deported from California? The whole concept of “sustainability” is idiotic. I’ve sent letters to the “sustainability officer” in my local municipality regarding the total financial non-sustainability of perpetual property tax increases and never gotten a response. Likely it requires an in person visit although I’ve been told that I intimidate people when I demand explanations and expose them to such foreign forms of though such as logic.
What the city of Santa Monica wants is completely unsustainable financially. I consider the “financial environment” to be an integral part of the “natural environment”. Who defines what is “natural”; are the extensively tattooed botox dependent peroxide bleached blonds of California “natural”? The social environment is part of the “natural” environment and I consider moonbats to be so offensive that they are a form of pollution. Does the Santa Monica ordinance allow for court injunctions that would require the incineration of a certain number of moonbats once their numbers rose above an unsustainable fraction of the population? (of course this incineration would be done in a very environmentally respectful manner with pre-buying of the necessary carbon credits and use of biofuels such as corn ethanol applied liberally both internally and externally to the moonbats pre-ignition with the remaining mineral rich ashes being used to fertilize “organic” farms).
I love attacking watermelons with logic as this mode of thought is so foreign to their defective wetware. Usually they either blow up at me or walk away without making any attempt to answer the pertinent questions I’ve posed to them. Hopefully a slippage in the San Andreas fault will quickly solve the problems of the left coast in the near future.

  14. Don’t laugh. Just look at Toronto. They declared themselves a nuclear free zone decades ago and they haven’t had a nuclear incident since.
