  1. Republican paramilitaries have since 1966 spilt the blood of over 2000 people, including over 700 civilians—and that’s just the ones they couldn’t pin on the British army or the loyalist groups who fought them in the streets of Ulster’s cities and towns. Hardly any of the murderers have ever answered for their crimes in any meaningful way—on the contrary, their leaders have been richly rewarded with wealth and power on both sides of the Irish border. Only the loyalists ever made an honest effort to settle accounts with the IRA.
Shergar was a horse, though by all accounts a fine one. He was insured against theft, and even the Aga Khan his owner knew better than to pay out a farthing on his behalf, knowing there’d never be an end to this sort of thing if he did. If London had shown one tenth the Aga Khan’s resolve in not giving in to Sinn Féin’s demands, all Ireland might yet enjoy British liberty to this day.
As it is, if this is any measure of the priorities of otherwise sensible Britons, it’s no wonder Ulster and her people were sold to Sinn Féin as cheaply as they were. A kingdom where the fate of a horse is anything compared to that of 2000 loyal subjects will not long endure, and does not deserve to.

  2. The IRA had an uncanny ability to set off bombs as a car full of nuns was passing by. The Irish really want to be a unique people but they are as irrational as the Quebecois in trying to maintain a dead language. The Irish are simply part of the Anglo-Saxon milieu of the world as are the Scots. There are 40 million Irish in the US and 4 million in Ireland. All the smart ones left.

  3. Scar -Historically, the British are Anglo/Saxon/Norman/Jutes/Fwench/Roman/Viking/Celts – the Irish/Scots are Celts/Picts/Viking. Forced assimilation has changed the original structure of GB.
The Irish people have no love for the British – and they have LOTS of Justification for their regard or lack of for the latter.

  5. Yes I am aware of Irish history. The difference between the Irish and English is about the same difference as the difference between a Canadian and an American or an Australian and a New Zealander. I would also question whether there was anything of the nature of forced assimilation (that worked anyway). The education system made English the language of the vast majority of the population with the full concurrence of the population.

  6. NOW – you are basically correct, Scar but a mere 100 years ago the populations were radically different. People have forgotten history and the importance of history. ‘People who choose to forget history are doomed to repeat it’. Agenda 21 is counting on short term memories. Back to the feudal system (the Fascist/Communist extreme model) is the ‘change’ the elitist thugs have in mind.

  7. The Gardai dug up my uncle’s land looking for Shergar’s body. They didn’t find anything of course but he was happy, it was cheap labour.
I wonder who made that phone call …
