  1. What a brilliant speech in every respect by an enormously impressive man. Rush Limbaugh said that The Anointed One was half-asleep (you can see him regularly rubbing his eyes) because he’s a night hawk and the prayer breakfast was, well, at breakfast time. Notice the enthusiastic applause by Michelle Obama and the virtual lack of response from Barack Hussein Lincoln. The contents of this speech by Dr. Carson reflect a depth of understanding and a wisdom that ought to be celebrated in every corner. Alas, just as Bill Cosby has been ‘marginalised’ so is this man because he refuses to be a victim; just as his mother, with all her poverty and distress, never gave into victimhood. What a compelling story.

  2. Good speech until the drivel about winning the War of 1812 and the reasons for it in the first place.

  3. Black conservatives are brave SOBs. They know full well they are going to get called a lot of ugly names, sometimes on national television, and yet they press on nevertheless.

  4. Great speech by a bright inspirational man.
I noticed the body language too. I think Dr. Carson made him squirm.
Nighthawk Pidd? Except on September 11, 2012.

  5. Obambam got one hell of a lecture. He was not smiling, nor was he clapping during his lecture. Will it make a difference? Probably not as he has already sold his soul to the devil.

  6. ‘Enthusiastic applause by Michelle Obama’??
Yeah, probably because ‘this dude shor nuff talks good’, not realizing he’s feeding Barry a bevy of jabs and body blows.
The good doctor should keep a wary eye!

  7. Good speech until the rewriting of the War of 1812…heh! Suddenly it became very …..American. Handcrafting history since they insisted that free men shouldn’t have to pay taxes or obey laws in 1776. And so the future Canada was born for the non koolaid drinking conservative Americans of the Fourteen Colonies. (Full disclaimer:Yeah, there is farmland in Hempstead Long Island that was seized and appears unlikely to be returned now;)….).

  8. Yeah OBOZO presented as a whipped dog…..
Dr. Carson should be very wary of drones…..
    The Donkeys maintain a long tradition…..rewriting history….
Washington’s father was landless…could not have owned any tree.
My favourite example is Longfellow’s poem “Evangeline”….18th century propaganda. The Acadians were explelled by Colonial forces not the Royal Navy. The Colonial ringleaders were the ringleaders of the later Revolution, arrested by the RN, fined and returned to the 13 Colonies….
The UELs who fled to New Brunswick were welcomed and sheltered by the Acadians….
During the War of 1812, the Acadians were the most enthusiastic and successful of the privatiers….because they knew the truth.
It was no accident that no invasion attempt was made into the Maritimes…..

  9. As noted above, a crystalline expression of simple and powerful truths.
The (non) reaction of Chauncey Gardner was notable for its absence.
Our American colleagues are hereby charged to press-gang him into the Presidency, whatever his political affiliation.

  10. Dr. Carson is not being useful c. @6:00 in. Far too many people go to university. He’s right, though, oh so very right, that parents are responsible for education. His mother sounds like a hero.
When he’s talking about de Tocqueville (c. @11:00) he gets to the real point. What we’d call grade school education used to be serious. Michelle, a semi-literate, couldn’t have made it out of a one room classroom not too long ago, forget Princeton.
@18:10 and @20:00 – well, I just hope he doesn’t get audited anytime soon. Because damn.
BTW, anyone else think Barry’s on heavy prescription meds? He’s barely blinking.

  11. I just saw the interview of Dr. Carson on Hannity an hour or so ago. He’s obviously an intelligent and – I like this part – humble man. Head or pediatric neurosurgery at Johns-Hopkins. That’s a serious gig.
While I did notice the colour of Dr. Carson’s skin, I didn’t really take that into consideration despite the fact that it would be convenient to point it out to the black voters that elected Obama. I do the same thing with Obama now – I no longer notice the colour of his skin.
I will admit, that, before Obama’s first presidential victory, I actually did not believe that the USA would elect a black president. Now, I simply can’t believe they did it again regardless of his race because of how destructive he is being to the country. Apparently, I was wrong on both counts.

  12. sasquatch, I’m curious. You really dislike the American revolutionaries? I can’t understand that. Like that chump who kicks off The Godfather, I believe in America. (BTW I worked for a couple of months at the “Evangeline” Grand Pre site some years ago. Unfortunately, and with sickening accuracy, well-meaning people plonked a church on top of the interesting stuff [i.e. the original church] around 1920 or so so we couldn’t get at anything really good. Just some small building foundations and a possible drainage ditch. But I digress.)

  13. Never thought it would be possible for someone, who looking up from a sitting position, would be able to look down their nose at someone who is standing over them. Barry is truly incredible.
Loved how POTUS didn’t clap or hardly acknowledge the brilliance of that speech. Maybe its because the POTUS has surrounded himself with so many talking heads of the same mindset who don’t have a collective thought that would agree with anything that Dr. Carson said.
But then again, Dr. Carson was mostly singing to the choir. Those in attendance all knew what he was talking about. The most clued-out person there was “the one”.

  15. I have to echo DJ in da US, it was an exceptional speech.
Jesus versus Karl Marx…Alinksy and van Jones will not be amused.
P.S., yes, there were the War of 1812 factual errors. The Brits did burn Washington, but he forgot to mention the invasions of Upper Canada. But, to be fair, his point with that little vignette was the victorious defense of Fort McHenry.

  16. Barry could hardly: 1. Smile let alone laugh. 2. Clap. 3. Keep standing during the well deserved standing “O”. 4. Stay awake. 5. Hide his contempt.
He is truly a bad man intent on destroying a once great nation.
He is becoming very hard to watch. Not that he was ever easy to watch.

  17. Dr. Carson on Hannity tonight said, when asked, that he would only run for President if the Lord took a hold of him and said he wanted him to (and those aren’t the correct words, but the meaning). He was bombarded with emails and 99.5% were positive. If everyone who sent those emails sent him a dollar, he said, it would pay all his expenses to run.
Dr. Carson prays over everything and does not speak until he has asked God what to say, which is why he didn’t intend it to be a direct attack on the President. It actually was an attack on his administration’s policies and not once did he blame Obama personally. Such a breath of fresh air after hearing Bush blamed for everything by the big one.
BTW, his mother went on to get an education and has her Ph.D and is herself Dr. Carson. A remarkable woman.

  18. It’s depressing hearing this speech vs the actions/statements of the current administration and a compliant media.
This guy is what makes the US great, let’s hope his views prevail.

  19. And
His view on HSA’s are great, similar to Brian Day’s suggestion to help control health care spending. Put the health care dollar in the hands of the individual, not health bureaucracies.People will be conservative with an allowance and it will reverse the system we have now that makes all patients a liability to the health authorities vs a customer to be served.
The health care system we have is similar to the Indian Act. An epic fail on all accounts. A bureaucrat does not know or can forecast what I need.

  20. Obama hates smart black guys, you can tell by the way he looks at them and his body language.
    Narcissist.

  21. Perhaps his comments concerning university failures was regarding students being ill-equiped for the requirements of that institution.
    With that posit I agree.
More or less entrants is not the issue, those who get there should have the tolls and skills learned in earlier levels so as to be able to finish, that is the challenge at hand. By improving student success in primary and secondary levels, it would prepare them for their next level. Those truly capable would go on to to university with an excellent chance of success. Those more technically suitable would go on to college or trade school. Or they could choose to go directly into the work force, miliary or what ever else they may be suited for.
The true tragedy of the current university system is that it is clogged up, and bogged down by those who have no business being there (professors as well as students).
And yes, Barry’s meds need adjusting.

  22. Without getting into the War of 1812, the comment about the Americans insisting since 1776 that freemen not have to pay taxes or obey laws is a bit infantile. They insisted that freemen not be subject to taxes or laws imposed on them by a Parliament in which they had no representation.
Now we have rather the opposite problem in America. Instead of the rallying cry of “No taxation without representation!” we have too many people with lots of representation and no taxation.

  23. I thought the key point came at around 13 minutes, the mention that the founding fathers came from all walks of life (concentrating on doctors), and that the government is primarily of lawyers today. “Win at all costs” is common to many fields (know any oncologists who think “well, the cancer can have this one”?). The difference, IMHO, is that most other professions don’t adopt a professional opinion of “it is more important to beat the other guy than to get to the best solution for everyone”.

  24. You know – I can forgive this man his re-write of history of the war of 1813 – ya, I know it was 1812 – buy wtf- he got the result wrong – I’m entitled to get the date wrong. Lets move on.
Obozo got bitch-slapped by this guy – good and proper!! What the hell is it with America and its intelligent black folk??!!?? Here is a guy so much more qualified to be Prez but somehow they end up electing the Zero they got??
    Give me an “f’en” break.

  25. Yes Britain and her Canadian allies may have prevailed in the war of 1812 but in many ways the war was a win for the Americans. The patriotic zeal and shared common grievances against Britain that had inspired the war of independence were reaffirmed.

  26. Nold: weren’t we fighting on this side of the border for our own independence? From the Americans, not the British.
The Doctor, whom I have admired for years, is reiterating what he was taught in school and read in the books he loves so well. Their patriotic zeal has stood the world in good stead as that zeal and love for the flag brought an end to WWI when the other armies were exhausted and brought them into WWII after Pearl Harbour with all guns blazing. Which is why O’s reign will affect the world adversely if he continues on the path he has set before him.

  27. “weren’t we fighting on this side of the border for our own independence? From the Americans, not the British”
The Americans declared war on the British because Britain had blockaded French ports thereby hurting American trade with one of their important trading partners. Britain refused to recognize American neutrality by boarding American ships and pressing sailors into service just as the British navy did with their own merchant ships. The Americans also assumed that Britain would be preoccupied with their war against France. Yes the Americans invaded Canada in 1813 but remember they faced a miniscule population of mostly rural people with a small militia entirely dependent on the the British for their defense. IMO to imply that we were acting in a war of independence from the Americans is somewhat putting the cart before the horse.
